My husband and I drove up to Fairfax from Chesapeake this morning to look at a new 2013 XC90 that I had found online 5 minutes before we left the house. Our original plan was to drive up to a Volvo dealer in morning to look at a new 2013 XC90 that I had found online 5 minutes before we left the house. Our original plan was to drive up to a Volvo dealer in Silver Spring, MD to look at some used XC90s, but we were sidetracked to this dealership based on my findings. I called the dealership about 30 minutes prior to our arrival to make sure the car I had found online was still available, which it was. When we arrived, there was another family looking at the exact car we had come to purchase and I was devastated. Steve immediately started working with us since James was busy with the other family. Steve indicated they did not have any more white FWD models on their lot, but he went out of his way to swap with another dealer to get me my car. The other family ended up not going home with their XC90, but Steve refused to let us drive off the lot with the one they had in stock as it had some minor cosmetic flaws that needed to be fixed. He was adamant that he did not want to inconvenience us by making us make another trip up to Fairfax for the car. Overall, the staff was wonderful! They were not pushy and did not try to sell us anything we did not want. My only complaint was that their trade in offer was a lot lower than what we had been offered by other dealerships. We ended up having to drive our "trade in" back down to Carmax in Fredericksburg to get the best bang for our buck. This is my first Volvo (converted over from many years of Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans) and I couldn't be happier!! I would definitely recommend Fairfax Volvo to anyone looking to purchase a new car. The entire staff at this dealership was most professional and courteous. I especially wish to make a comment regarding our salesman Mr. Wayne SMITH who was very helpful, meticulous, professional, and respectful throughout the purchase of a wonderful 2012 Volvo S-40 for my wife Sandra. During my lifetime I have purchased a number of new vehicles, but I have never encountered a salesman like Wayne Smith who was very respectful of our wishes, meticulous and spent time going over all the particulars of the new car including its manual, references, and the clear explanation of the warranty and maintenance. Even though during our test drive, and purchase we indicated to Mr Smith that we were on a limited time since we had another commitment he was able to cover all the basic details and got my wife and I out of the storeroom and financing department in a timely manner. I'll certainly recommend Mr. Wayne Smith to my friends and family members and will not hesitate to conduct another business transaction with him in the future. Ed Legall More

Wayne and all of the people at Fairfax Volvo made buying a car a great experience. Wayne really goes the extra mile to make sure that we were happy with the car, had all of our questions answered and that w a car a great experience. Not only did he stay late to help us finish the car buying process but he spent extra time detailing the car even AFTER it had been washed and cleaned. He is one dedicated guy! This was NOT a high pressure sales environment, but was fair and laidback which made the experience much more relaxed. it took us three visits to the dealership to find the right fit with the right price and it was reassuring that we were not being talked into a "take it home today" mentality where they just want to make a sale now. When it is time to get another car, we will be going back to Wayne, and will reccomed our family and friends to him too! More
I went into the dealership with my 9 year old son last Saturday to look at the Volvo XC60 as one of the choices I was considering for a new car purchase. Wayne Smith approached us at the door and we fe Saturday to look at the Volvo XC60 as one of the choices I was considering for a new car purchase. Wayne Smith approached us at the door and we felt like family from the first moment. After some small chat, he asked if we would like to take one for a ride. He asked my preference for model (base, premier, or platinum) and explained the features of each one. We opted for the premier plus in AWD. We left the dealership for our test drive and Wayne discussed many of the features, making special note of the safety features such as the whiplash protection. Sensing that we may be interested in another configuration, he directed the test drive to the new vehicle lot where we spent about 20 minutes looking at different configurations. I was very pleased that he was spending so much time with us as I indicated that I was still evaluating different brands and models and would not be purchasing a car that day. He seemed more interested in wanting me to be fully informed about his product line than closing the deal. We left with a few brochures and I told him to please allow me to call him rather than him call me as my plan was to look at several other brands over the next 5-7 days - a request that he honored. After test driving several other models, I returned to Fairfax Volvo on Monday for another look at the XC90 and to test drive the vehicle for a second time. I indicated that I was not prepared to purchase a vehicle that evening as I was still in the evaluation phase. Although Wayne did pursue a sale that evening, it was low pressure and very respectful. I left that night still undecided on which brand I would choose. On Tuesday, I returned and met with Wayne, and Steve Forsht (who I met the previous evening) and we were able to negotiate a deal for the vehicle I wanted at a price that all parties felt good about. I took delivery of my new Volvo XC60 FWD Platinum package on Wednesday evening after Wayne spent about 90 minutes with me to go over the cars functions and special features. I would highly recommend Fairfax Volvo and Mr. Wayne Smith to everyone for their next new car purchase. More

I had gone in prior to buying to do a test drive and get some information - when I told Eddie that I wasn't looking to buy that day he didn't try to pressure for a sale but didn't ig do a test drive and get some information - when I told Eddie that I wasn't looking to buy that day he didn't try to pressure for a sale but didn't ignore me as a customer and treated me with the same service I would expect (and ultimately got) when purchasing. After exchanging emails and getting a personal note in the mail, I went back to see Eddie for a purchase. I'd been intending to sell my car through private sale, but we reached a fair trade-in price without too much hassle (the initial price quoted was too low but it was a simple error in selecting the proper transmission - once resolved we were back in business). I am overall pleased with the service I got from Eddie and his manager - normally sales managers are the ones who make car buying unpleasant, but he was just as great as Eddie. Overall my only complaint was that we had to wait almost 2 hours for financing (their sister dealership had tied up all the finance managers and we had to wait for those sales to close) and the advertised sale price online was not what I got. That problem stemmed from the fact that I didn't qualify for the Volvo loyalty incentive even though my family has owned 4 Volvo cars. Ultimately these were minor complaints as they worked to get a price very close to the loyalty incentive price and they were pleasant to deal with through the whole process. This is probably one of the only times I've purchased a car and look forward to going back and dealing with them for routine service. Thanks Eddie!! More

After extensive research for a top-notch service team and a reliable, durable, and respected automobile, I purchased my second Volvo (S40 T5) at Fairfax Imports, Inc., and am totally and utterly pleased with a reliable, durable, and respected automobile, I purchased my second Volvo (S40 T5) at Fairfax Imports, Inc., and am totally and utterly pleased with my decision. To Bryant and Alexander, in particular, I extend a public 'thank you' for making my recent experience nearly effortless and definitely enjoyable. Fairfax Imports, Inc., is obviously a leader in its class -- what an awesome team!! As for my automobile choice, my expectations are far exceeded with my new Volvo S40 T5 in terms of performance, comfort, roominess, quality, and safety features just to name a few. I highly recommend this dealership and the quality and safety only found in the Volvo. More

I was very impressed with the customer service (getting me a loaner - since I had to wait for some parts - in "part" (!) due to "Irene"- the hurricane.....and I can actually say, I will consider looking at Volvo's (instead of Volkswagons) when it's time for me to buy a new car! Because some new issues were uncovered that impacted the time for me to get my vehicle, he offered and made arrangements for an alternate vehicle for my use. I was never in the dark on anything and was always given a heads up every step of the way. From my previous experiences, this is rare for a dealership. More
