On the way from our home in NJ to VA to visit our son, my 2013 Volvo C70 starting acting up. It needed too many expesnive repairs so we bought a 2024 XC40 in December 2023. We always had to wait for a sales person and other people to complete the sale. The phone system is terrible - it is hard to get someone either by name or department. We were given a run through on how to work the car with Miriam, our sales person, but I felt as though we were rushed. We are 72 years old and we are used to a written manual, not an on-screen manual. This is my 4th Volvo. I feel it is a realiable vehicle. However, every time I need to look something up about how to work it, I have to use You Tube. After 2 months we started having software issues. Google Assist stopped working too many times to count, which is unsafe. Hopefully the next software update will fix everything. We also had an issue with tempoarary tags being issued in VA and needing to be tranferred to NJ. I did all of the follow up on this - no one else got in touch with me. It took a long time, which is not the dealerships fault, but there was no follow up by them. More

DO NOT GO TO THIS SERVICE CENTER AT ALL! !! I visited the DARCARS Volvo service center in Fairfax to attend to my new Volvo XC90, prompted by a maintenance alert at 4,000 miles. The drop-o !! I visited the DARCARS Volvo service center in Fairfax to attend to my new Volvo XC90, prompted by a maintenance alert at 4,000 miles. The drop-off process was straightforward, and they conducted the 10,000-mile service. After receiving a call informing me that my car was ready for pickup, I returned to find the representative providing me a paper, stating the car would be brought out soon (He didn't even wish, simply watching something on the phone sitting at the counter). To my disappointment, I had to independently review the service details and discovered it primarily involved an oil change. The representative offered no explanation, and I had to proactively inquire about any relevant information. After waiting nearly 20 minutes outside for my car to be retrieved, I observed it covered in bird droppings on the body and glass, with wiper marks from attempts to clean them. Upon returning inside and inquiring about a complimentary car wash, I was informed it was only available upon request. Consequently, I had to take my car home with bird droppings all over it (It literally sucks, I couldn't even touch the door handle). My friends had warned me about the poor service at this service center, but it took firsthand experience for me to truly understand and learn my lesson. This experience left me with the impression that they don't prioritize the care of your car. I would advise AGAINST using this service center and recommend exploring alternatives for better service. More

Fairfax Volvo sales and finance staff made the purchase of our new XC40 pain free and extremely easy. Miriam and Tim worked with us and gave us a great offer up front after test driving the car we were int of our new XC40 pain free and extremely easy. Miriam and Tim worked with us and gave us a great offer up front after test driving the car we were interested in. The numbers were better than we were expecting making the deal quick and easy. The finance team knew we were not interested in any additional packages and there was zero pressure there either. While I was mentally preparing to have to haggle and waste a lot of time before arriving at Fairfax Volvo, it was completely unnecessary based on the pressure-free treatment we received. I would come back to Fairfax Volvo in a heartbeat. More
I’ve lost track of how many Volvos I’ve leased or purchased from this dealership. All were serviced here as well. I’ve never had a bad experience and Melvin smith goes out of his way to communicate a purchased from this dealership. All were serviced here as well. Last week I was saddened to learn the dealership no longer maintains a cashier. All payments are electronic transactions. A job eliminated affects more than just that one employee. I don’t know if the dealership made the decision or if it was a larger corporate choice. More
We drove a Volvo and signed the paperwork to buy it. Yosam was very sweet and turned us over to financing. This is where things turned ugly. We were sent upstairs where the tv couldn't be turned to nfl games and nobody knew how to operate it. A gentleman came out and said another 10 minutes while the prepped the car and we were done. I left not feeling well and started n my 90 minute drive home. After about 45 minutes my wife called and said the paperwork was changed the the numbers had changed including the interest rate. Mario Eberly had threatened her and was throwing her out because the dealership was closing at 6. I turned around and arrived at 6:20 to find her next door at the VW dealership. Rude, crude and unacceptable. This the worst car buying experience ever and would refuse to go anywhere near this place again. She was put out without her coat and a phone charger that she repeatedly asked for. Mario is the rudest person on the east coast. More
