Very poor service! Sent my Passat in for a repair. They charged me $200 merely for diagnosis without doing anything to the car and refusing to honor my car warranty. I would give it zero stars if I could. Dealership is shady. They claim the advertised price is only if you are using their financing. Are you kidding me who would finance these days unl Dealership is shady. They claim the advertised price is only if you are using their financing. Are you kidding me who would finance these days unless you have to let alone use theirs. STAY CLEAR!! More
I purchased a 2019 Tiguan at Fairfax vw for her to take to college. We purchased the vehicle the last week of June. The purchase went fine but the follow up was non-existent. We were due plates and a spa to college. We purchased the vehicle the last week of June. The purchase went fine but the follow up was non-existent. We were due plates and a spare key. The plates were delayed due to an error made by vw in the title so we had to go back to dealer to get a new set as the originals expired. No calls from dealer to let us know status we had to call them to which all of our messages were unreturned so we physically had to go to dealership to get status and new temp tags as they were expiring. So the 2nd set are set to expire in 5 days and we just got notification new ones are available but my daughter is now back at school and the dealership wants us to pay the fedex to send them to her. All told I left 7 messages to sales mgr, general mgr, etc and none were returned even after speaking to the sales mgr Dave twice which he said that he would call me the next day. This is one example as to why people hate buying cars. More

TLDR: Service Ghosted me for over a week. Felt like my car was held hostage. Communication was non-existent. Had to call VWoA to lodge a dealer complaint. Used the receptionist/cashier as an Felt like my car was held hostage. Communication was non-existent. Had to call VWoA to lodge a dealer complaint. Used the receptionist/cashier as an “in-between” and got all my info from her. Loaner car was given 1 week after I brought car in and it was an absolute mess. Won’t ever go back to Fairfax VW after being a loyal customer for 8 years. I brought my car on a Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon I received a text informing me they are confirming if my car was under warranty. Apparently the 7 hours they already had the car wasn't long enough. After that text I received, I asked the service advisor (Anthony) if he was working tomorrow. No answer. They kept the car overnight without informing me that it needed to be kept overnight. But it didn't stop at overnight. I called the next morning who told me my service advisor was out. I spoke with David Littleton the Service Director. He told me he had to find out if I had a warranty. (I have the VW Drive Easy Platinum warranty with 0 deductible which was purchased with the car at Fairfax VW). I called back at least 3 times on Thursday and left messages with him. I was ghosted, no call backs, no nothing . I called back Friday multiple times with no answer. Ghosted. I called VWoA to initiate a Dealer complaint. Around 4pm the Receptionist/Cashier said they ordered my parts. At this point all my communications were through the Receptionist/Cashier. I told her I needed to talk to a Service Advisor or David Littleton about a Loaner. They told me they didn't have one and that they would call me when they had one. I called about the loaner the following Monday, Tuesday, and on Thursday about the loaner. Ghosted the entire time until Thursday when they had a loaner for me. I went in and picked it up. The loaner was an absolute mess. The previous user had left all their trash and the car wasn't clean at all. They made me clean up and sanitize the loaner car. Then on Friday late afternoon I was told my car was ready. I picked up my car on Saturday morning after complaining about the extra charges on my receipt which may have been unintentional. This is the absolute worst experience I have had at any dealer. There is nothing worst then being ghosted by a dealer that is seemingly holding your car hostage and not get any notifications beyond a single text message. I had to pursue them constantly with no responses. Fairfax VW didn't just lose a service customer that day, they lost a sales customer for life. More
Attempted to get warranty work there for a part/labor that THREE other VW Dealers verified was covered under warranty. Service Manager denies it was under warranty, and quotes me $2000 to fix it. Refus that THREE other VW Dealers verified was covered under warranty. Service Manager denies it was under warranty, and quotes me $2000 to fix it. Refuses to acknowledge written Warranty document, and then proceeds to try to charge me an additional $160 to diagnose the problem! When I told him I had everything in writing on the warranty, he hangs up the phone on me. I have now called/emailed the General Manager, Customer Care email they keep replying with below, and a Service Satisfaction email address--NONE of which have even been replied to, or called back. They will write a canned response about calling the 'Customer Care Team'--but nothing can be done if they don't call you back!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER OR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!! I cannot imagine how many people they have ripped off that don't know better than to question their 'quotes'. I have emails into WV Corporate, and will contact BBB also--and will continue to do so until someone from this facility has the xxxxx to call me back. More
