I was brought into this dealership (had to leave work early) at the end of the month with the promise to get a specific color car at a defined price by one of the salesman. Upon entering the dealership, I was told that the color I was promised does not exist and that silver was the only car at this price. After being informed that there were no cars with the color I desired, I left the dealership outraged. The next day, after searching online for the car, i found one, ON HIS LOT, IN MY COLOR. When I called back asking about it, he said it had been sitting there, and the price had significantly jumped up. When i voiced my concern, the sales manager raised his voice and treated me like a 5 year old boy..asking if I wanted him to fire his sales person. This place is a horrible place to buy a car, and I plan on making that known to as many people as possible, DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE, Alexandria VW is a much more friendly environment. More

After my son graduated from college i promised him that i would by his first new car for him. After doing some buget searching and settling on a VW we had to find a good dealership, so we went to Rosenthal would by his first new car for him. When we told the salesperson the story and what kind of car we wanted he was sooooo sweet. He actually joined in our excitement and let my son act like a kid in a candy land. I think we test drove a million cars and when he chose his car the finance director had already been breifed on the story and found us a great monthly that was affordable to make. I sincerely thank the whole staff at Rosenthal VW for helping make this experience worth going through!!! More

They called me an hour after I dropped the car off to ask if I wanted a brake fluid change, which VW recommends every 2 years and they noticed was "probably not done". It was $140. I disagree with the recommendation, but my car is a lease, so I called them back and okayed it. They called me a few hours later to tell me that car was ready and even picked me up from the Metro stop after their regular transport hours. Driver was nice. However, task 2 they didn't do so well. My 2007 GTI(which has Xenons) was in a front-end collision and when a different shop repaired it, they didn't aim the headlights correctly. The beam pattern is off and I'm regularly high-beaming whatever car's to my front right. 2 other dealers ( in Detroit MI and Pittsburgh PA ) said that this was a common thing and easy to fix. I'm on a roadtrip, so I didn't have time to get it fixed at those places and thought I would ask these guys. They looked at it and didn't know what was going on. Decided to charge me $60 anyway. My headlights still don't project further than my foglights do ( ~10 feet ), except to high-beam the car next to me. More

several years ago bought a 2003 jetta new at invoice price. on the invoice they tried to make an "honest" mistake of overcharging me by $500. good thing i have an elementary school education to have c price. on the invoice they tried to make an "honest" mistake of overcharging me by $500. good thing i have an elementary school education to have caught that. then onto finance office. brother tries to give me 6% or something like that when the going rate was much lower. i said dawg i can go get a convenience check from my bank at 4%, without any kind of fee on it. then i say ok maybe i'll go down the street to nissan dealer and see what they got. he gives in and gives me 4%. on the financing paperwork he makes another "honest" typo. i find this out a few days later when he calls me and says i need to come back to fix that typo and sign again. don't go here. Every other VW dealership I visited seemed staffed by "salesman" who had read books on what to say to talk people into cars - here they just answered my questions, showed me the features on my car, and got me a great deal! The process was straight forward, and the experience didn't feel like a "normal" car dealership at all - no line of guys outside smoking and waiting for the next customer to nail to the wall. This is my third vehicle from fairfax VW and I'm sure I'll be back for another as my lease expires. the service department is just as great and always get my cars serviced here as well! More

FAirfax VW really gave me a great deal for my money. Sure enough the financing went very smoothly since they have a good relationship with more than just two or three banks. Took my 2005 Passat into Fairfax VW (Part of the Rosenthal Group) for a 45,000 mile oil change. Service rep quoted me a price of $180 for full (i.e. extra) service. When I asked to see the maintenance schedule to determine what, exactly, I was paying for, he claimed that the dealership did not have one, and I should consult my owner's manual. When I refused to sign without seeing the list of services I was paying for, the service rep said that I only really needed the oil change for warranty purposes (my original request) and offered to do that for me for only - - $100! At that point, I asked to see the service manager, who I finally had to go find myself... The service manager told the guy to give me a schedule, at which point he actually told the manager (in front of me!) that I had never asked for one. Needless to say, I decided to hightail it out of there double-quick! I called the general manager to let him know what was going on in his shop, and he admitted that the posted price for a standard (non-synthetic) oil change is in the $40 range, but said he couldn't understand what I was so upset about. This dealership exhibited a marked lack of both business ethics and integrity, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. For the LADIES out there, especially - BE WARNED. From all indications, they seem to think we are carrying our brains around in our handbags. More
