I Visited on Friday, 7/4/08 and was pleased to find one Prius in stock with the desired package. I Was told that this one had been ordered by a customer who backed out on the sale, and that the customer h Prius in stock with the desired package. I Was told that this one had been ordered by a customer who backed out on the sale, and that the customer had added custom features that were already paid for by the dealer and had to be included in the sale price. It took awhile to get a list of these extra features. The salesperson (Justin) didn't know anything about them, and had to talk to the business manager (Sam). Finally they gave me a list of items. They refused to remove any features from the invoice, even though none had been added to the car yet. I called other Toyota dealers in my region and none had a Prius on their lot. The consensus was that I'd have to wait about 6 months. Since the Prius was difficult to get, and I really wanted this particular car, I returned to the dealership the following day and purchased the vehicle. I paid $2237 above MSRP, justifying this because of the custom features, one of which (the window tinting) I actually wanted. Now, after looking at Toyota.com I see that that they trumped up the prices on the extras. For instance, I was charged $140 for a first aid kit with MSRP of $29, and the list goes on. I am shocked that they would be so incredibly dishonest! A couple of the items on the list didn't even show up in the car, and I have to go back and point that out to them. In the end, the $2237 in extras have an MSRP of about $1200. This is not only dishonest, but seems brazen considering the ease with which I was able to find out that they lied to me. Normally, I make it a policy not to do business with dishonest establishments. My advice to anyone looking to buy a Toyota is to beware that this dealership will not deal honestly with you and will do their best to take advantage of you. More

We purchased a Prius in December of 2005. I shopped all local dealers for the best price. We got down to a number that Leesburg Toyota refused to sell their car for. I called DARCARS and spoke to Jeff and local dealers for the best price. We got down to a number that Leesburg Toyota refused to sell their car for. I called DARCARS and spoke to Jeff and what we would pay based on the lowest offer. Jeff called us back within 20 minutes and said they would accept that price. We went the following day and were in and out within 2 hours with no surprises. It was a really good experience and I have about 15 new car purchases to compare it to. More
In January 2005, we decided to buy a new car, we have contacted several Toyota Dealers in Maryland and Virginia. On Jan. 10, both Mr. Lewis and Mr. Taylor from Darcars Toyota at Frederick send me mails a contacted several Toyota Dealers in Maryland and Virginia. On Jan. 10, both Mr. Lewis and Mr. Taylor from Darcars Toyota at Frederick send me mails and gave me the offer of Camry LE 4-cylinder automatic with the same price, which was $1800 under invoice. Mr. Lewis also called me and conformed that, they sale all Toyota Camry $1800 less than the invoice. Mr. Lewis also told me he would be working at the office until 9PM on that day and the following day. Both my wife and I thought that was a good deal. Hence on Jan. 10, I droved from home in Virginia at 6PM, and then picked up a friend in Germantown, and then went to Frederick. We arrived at DARCARS about 8PM, but Mr. Lewis had left. Ms. Haidi Lee had assisted us. But she could not make any decision on the offer. However, when we talked with the sale Manager, Kevin, he refused to honor the price. He said that was a mistake by the internet managers (Mr. Lewis) and he said he would talk with Mr. Lewis on Wednesday about that. He said he might honor the offer tomorrow, after discussing with Mr. Lewis. We left. When I got home, it was almost midnight.

In the second day after I contacted with Mr. lewis, I received the Email from him. He apologized he left from DARCARS early, he said that since the price has been changed. He could only sell the car at $1500 below invoice rather than the offer he gave to me on Jan. 10. I declined his new offer. I think this is illegal and non-professional to do business. The Darcars should keep their offer.

On Jan. 12, I sent a mail to the General Manager at DARCARS of Frederick, Mr. Farley and asked him to investigate the matter. It Has been over two weeks, but I have not received his response until now.
Don't trust them.
More
