"Bait and switch" is a form of fraud. As an out-of-state buyer I agreed to pay their advertised price for a used car. When they received my full price offer, they raised the price by over As an out-of-state buyer I agreed to pay their advertised price for a used car. When they received my full price offer, they raised the price by over $3,000 with unwanted and unnecessary add-ons. All of the add-ons had the prices inflated by several hundred percent over suggested retail. (Unscrupulous.) I walked away from the deal. My salesman, Fabian, (a good guy) stayed in touch and was able to reconstruct the deal to my satisfaction. After I wired the funds to close the deal communications dropped off substantially, except for Fabian, he stayed in touch. My sales contract was loaded with errors and took careful reading to correct. Finally, I had the car shipped to my home, out-of-state. When the car arrived there was no proof of purchase or temporary registration. Even though I paid cash for the car I couldn't prove that I owned it. I couldn't register the car in my home state and couldn't even legally drive the car. Very frustrating and as an out-of-state buyer very difficult. More
