I can honestly say Bill Stevenson was the best sales person I have encountered in the over 50 years of my car / vehicle buying experience. He was a pleasure to work with. Bill is very knowledgeable of the "products" he represents. Furthermore, he is most personable. I felt quite comfortable working with Bill within the first 5-10 minutes of meeting him! In closing, may I add I drove over 100 miles to do business with Bill... and would do it again in a heartbeat! After doing some research, I finally decided to take my car to Crown Mercedes Benz - Dublin they were very knowledgeable, and have a genuine concern for you and your vehicle. They addressed every concern I had and got my car fixed right away. My advisor was Dave Kohler, he kept up great communication, went above and beyond to explain what was wrong with my car and I got my car in and out on the same day. I was happy with the service I received from them and definitely recommend this dealership service to everyone. Thank you Dave Kohler again for the great service. More
Sent to Corporate and Central Region MB USA: R I’d like a response to a situation I just encountered which is illegal and at best unethical. I had a deal in principle for a car at Crown Eurocars MB d like a response to a situation I just encountered which is illegal and at best unethical. I had a deal in principle for a car at Crown Eurocars MB dealership in Dublin, Ohio. Contact with this dealership was via Cars.com We completed all of the financing….term length, interest rate, and monthly payment based on down payment. I have those documents and they were completed via DocuSign. We agreed on the trade value of the car pending final inspection at the dealership. The car is in Dublin Ohio and I am in the suburbs of Chicago. I made it very clear that we were unable to get there to until next week to complete the documents. I confirmed that based on us completing the financing that the car would be held for the week. I received that confirmation. We made our arrangements for travel including the booking of a hotel room overnight. I told the salers person I would follow up to confirm before we left. This morning, Friday 11/11 I texted the dealership again and asked if we were good to go… we were to leave within a few hours and would be in the area tonight…. And would be at the dealership tmrw morning. He said yes. We agreed upon the time…10am. I have all texts over the past week which corroborates all of the above. We agreed on price of the car and a trade value… we ran credit and agreed on the terms . We agreed on the time we’d be there. This is an agreement in principle…as clear as it gets. An hour after I confirmed that we were good to go to travel to Dublin, OH, I got another message saying that the car had just been sold and paid for in cash. This is illegal practice and at best unethical. We have had our credit pulled and have to incurs the cost of the hotel for a night. I am beyond disappointed as we have bought several Mercedes(and other higher end makes) from very ethical dealerships…. But this experience reflects very poorly on the Mercedes brand and customer experience….and in particular this dealership representing the brand. My next step is to consider what/if any legal action is required over the loss of this vehicle… the negative impact on my credit without having any compensation and the cost of the hotel we booked. And even if none of that is pursued… the reputational damage to the brand should be considered. I will be happy to document this experience everywhere I can within social media…. And to share it with as many people as possible. More
