Finally was able to get my new Avalanche! I really love all of the neat cargo options and the power from this motor. I’m just so excited to finally get this truck! It was a long journey. I know I went t all of the neat cargo options and the power from this motor. I’m just so excited to finally get this truck! It was a long journey. I know I went to every dealer in the greater DC area and no one treated me better or gave me a lower price than Criswell Chevrolet. I’m glad to be part of the tradition. More
Great deal. Great customer service. They listen to what you want not what they want you in. The selection is my favorite, they had tons of cars to choose from. Best treatment I’ve ever had from a salesman, you want not what they want you in. The selection is my favorite, they had tons of cars to choose from. Best treatment I’ve ever had from a salesman, he was very honest with me and shot me straight. More
I contracted with Criswell Chevy on 10/16/09 to accept my 2008 Chevy corvette for $53,600 and they took possession of the car and title on that date. The deal was contingent on my purchase of another vehicl 2008 Chevy corvette for $53,600 and they took possession of the car and title on that date. The deal was contingent on my purchase of another vehicle for my wife from Chicago Motorcars, Chicago, Ill. for $37,500. I had a reservation to fly to Chicago on 10/20/09. Once I inspected the car, Duke Silvea, Criswell agreed to transfer the funds to Chicago Motorcars and transfer the difference to my bank account. Since I wanted to ensure all the financial arrangements were finalized, I called Mr. Silvea on his cell phone the morning of 10/19/09. He didn't answer, so I left a message. I called him again in the early afternoon and left another message. I called a third time in the late afternoon and again got no answer, so I called Criswell's finance office. They were unaware of the arrangements so they recommended I speak to the Manager, Kevin Zott. When I explained the confirmation I needed he said "you've made this deal very difficult, you should come pick up your car." I explained that I had a deal with Criswell and that I expected them to honor it. Approximately ten minutes later I received a call from Mr. Silvea. He stated "we're done. You went over my head and complained about our service. Come pick up your car." I reiterated that we had a deal and I restated my desire to complete it. He said no and then hung-up. I called back a few minutes later and left a message and apologized for any inconvenience I may have caused. He called back and reiterated that "we're done." I pleaded with Mr. Silvea to honor the deal. He refused and again told me to pick up my car. In so doing, Criswell has caused me the expense of a cancelled flight and the very real possibility that I will lose the opportunity to purchase the very rare car I was committed to purchase from Chicago Motorcars. Do your poor palms sweat when you set foot into a car dealer's "showroom?" Maybe that's because you've heard the horror stories of salesmen who strong arm their hapless customers. Who cajole, threaten, c dealer's "showroom?" Maybe that's because you've heard the horror stories of salesmen who strong arm their hapless customers. Who cajole, threaten, cheat, and yes, lie to their customers. We've heard them too. But with so many people exchanging information about cars and dealers on the Internet, I thought perhaps things had changed--That I could go into a dealership and maybe even have a pleasant experience. But pigs don't fly out of rumps, and I guess good experiences at used car dealers don't happen either. At least it didn't for us that day in May, 2007. Yesterday my wife and I were shopping for a used car for our college-aged daughter at Criswell Automotive, a dealer in Montgomery County, MD. We were told by Corey Pardue, the sales manager that our chosen car came with a 30 day "bumper to bumper warranty. Great, we said. Can we see details in writing? What does that warranty cover exactly? (We learned from Consumer Reports that you should know these things.) Well, Corey said, you'll need to sign all these papers first, and then our "business manager" can give you those details. Right. Ok, we wanted to please our daughter so we tried something else. Well, Corey, can we add language to the contract that says we can take the car to our mechanic and return it within 48 hours if he finds problems. "SURE," Corey said, let's add that language (which he did). In the meantime, his repair shop was fixing a steering problem with the car. This was taking hours (we really love our kid), which gave us plenty of time to read all the paperwork. Guess what we learned? The contract stated that the only warranty language that was legal was the language on the car's sticker (in our case the vague, unspecific, 30-day or 1,000 mile warranty). That means that any language to added to the contract was meaningless. When I asked Corey about this he told us to leave! Gosh! So folks, it's true. xxxx exists, and we entered it when we went though the doors at Criswell Automotive in Montgomery County, MD. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere for a Honda, Chevy, Hummer, Lexus, or whatever else you may be in the market for. More
They can sell a Corvette fine, just don't take it there for service or you'll be sorry. You'll have more problems when you leave than when you arrived. Pristine Corvette arrives in morning, several hours for service or you'll be sorry. You'll have more problems when you leave than when you arrived. Pristine Corvette arrives in morning, several hours later it's in the back lot in a 8" mud puddle with mud all over the car. Problems still not fixed. And a nice belt-buckle job on the front fender about 6"x6" with 100's of scratches. This place is the #1 worst place to take your new Corvette. They'll ruin it for you and their attempts to repair make things worse. GM should yank their service dept and weld the doors shut. Those service credential/award plaques are an absolute joke! I'd sooner push this thing over a cliff than take it to Criswell again. More
