So let us put they are scamming into perspective So putting my sale experience with Cox into perspective.. we purchase a 2015 Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck last October. We paid $28,000 for the vehicle So putting my sale experience with Cox into perspective.. we purchase a 2015 Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck last October. We paid $28,000 for the vehicle which was the top and high end of the vehicle's value. When we picked up the vehicle the paint was all Staind from rain otherwise it looked pretty good. When we got the vehicle home the same day we purchased it I decided to wash it. While washing it I stepped into the bed to wash the roof and found there was a moderately sized Dent near the cab light. Also, one tire was low on air and I found another one was plugged. I called my salesperson back regarding the issues and was told that when they plug a tire it is safe and does not need to be repaired. He also asked us to bring the vehicle back so they could repair whatever was causing the leak on the tire that was low. I explained to him that we paid $28,000 for the vehicle which was the top top of the vehicle's value and plugging a tire was unacceptable and having a tire that was previously plugged is unsafe. With all of his service knowledge he disagreed with us. I also discussed the dent in the roof and was told that I should have noticed that when we purchased the vehicle. Question, how many times when someone purchases a pickup truck do they jump into the bed and go inspect the roof? Likely just like myself none. Again I tried to discuss this with the sales person to no avail. Again, we purchased the vehicle in October 2017 with 29000 miles on it and went to sell it to a dealer who ran a Carfax only to find the vehicle had been in a previous accident by the original owner. Now, when we purchased the vehicle before the finalization of the sale we ask for a Carfax. Being excited because we really love the vehicle we reviewed what they gave us only to recently find out that they gave us an AutoCheck and not a Carfax. While considering selling the vehicle to another dealership and they ran the Carfax again we were advised that in July of 2018 there was an accident to the vehicle, it was reported to Carfax in July of 2017 and the vehicle was repaired at Cox Chevrolet. When we discussed purchasing the vehicle again we requested the Carfax and we also asked if the vehicle was ever in an accident. Again our salesperson reported to us the vehicle had never been in accident and as notice before they provided us with an AutoCheck and not Carfax. Of course shame on us on that behalf but again we ask the salesperson several times if the vehicle was ever in an accident where he provided us paperwork and said no the vehicles never been in an accident. Unfortunately, that's completely untrue because Cox Auto Body repaired the vehicle. How shady is that? Not only did they refuse to provide us with safe tires and not plugged tires again for a $28,000 vehicle, they also lied to us about the vehicle being an accident where they clearly were the repair facility for the body damage. Don't be fooled by the almost five star rating that they have right now. I suggest that you review all of the reviews and don't skip the negatives. You will find that you also have a very bad taste in your mouth and I would be hopeful that you would move on to a dealership that's not just out to screw the company as they did with us. Final note, because there was an accident reported to Carfax when we sold the vehicle we lost a significant amount of money. Do you think Cox Chevrolet would ever be willing to help us out? Of course not. Bottom line is they lied to make the sale at top dollar and clearly provided us with erroneous accent information. When buying from Cox Chevrolet do yourself a favor, get the VIN of the vehicle and run your own Carfax and do not accept an AutoCheck. AutoCheck does not immediately report any accidents and it could be upwards of a year or more before they finally note an accident has occurred with a vehicle. We are professional people and would never in good conscious lie to somebody straight out as they did to us. Buyer beware is an understatement. And this one likely we be discussed with the local TV stations so they can report what has happened to us. All the proof is in the documentation that we have not only from the sale when we bought the vehicle from Cox but up to when we just sold the vehicle and lost out significantly. More
