Countryside Motors responded

Mr and Mrs Herman purchased the 2010 F150 on June 8, 2023. Mr Herman requested additional service at purchase and picked up the truck a few days later without any fluid under the truck anywhere. In hindsight, Mr Herman said, “he heard a loud clunk and felt a hard jerk on the way home after picking up the vehicle”, but still decided to take it on a 300+ mile trip, according to his complaint. (This would have been a great time to contact us immediately.) Approximately 7 weeks later when he got with us, on July 31st we agreed with the recommendation of having it towed to a service facility to prevent damage to the vehicle because he said he was not mechanically minded to check the truck himself. On August 28th we offered help, even though our offer to look at the vehicle had been rejected. The monetary help was also rejected and refused a check. He said he would in fact send it back and they would be pursuing other avenues including contacting the BBB. Mr. Herman's claim concerning the fill plug/dipstick does not make any sense. “It did not break until "Shop A" looked at it”, he said. Furthermore, even if this was broken previously with the bottom half of the plug holding in the dipstick facing upward so it would not leak, it would not have leaked any fluid, it was completely sealed. The information from "Shop A" concerning the alternator, tensioner pulley and 3 idlers was never mentioned to us. We guarantee our work. For over 31 years, we value the opportunity to help our customers and make them satisfied with service and care. We offered to check the vehicle out, we asked you if you had options to bring it to us and we offered help to arrange the vehicle to come to us. If there was anything mechanically wrong with the vehicle, we would have taken care of it, meaning even if it cost zero or thousands of dollars. We waited weeks for your response and never heard from you until after you chose another option and did not let us help you. We absolutely welcome all customers to get with us for any concern. When we know about a situation we are glad to help with options to get the vehicle in operating order. When a customer chooses to take it somewhere else to have a repair and then reaches out after the repair, we are unable to verify if the repair was necessary. When we do not know and a customer chooses to take it somewhere else, we are unable to diagnose and offer help because we do not know if the vehicle really needs assistance. Thank you to all of our faithful customers for over 31 years.
