On 7-5-2019 I purchased a used vehicle from Coughlin, a 2012 Dodge with 6,700 miles. I live in Mass so I brought the car on line conducting all documentation on-line. I was offered an extended warranty f 2012 Dodge with 6,700 miles. I live in Mass so I brought the car on line conducting all documentation on-line. I was offered an extended warranty for several thousands more which I was told cover the vehicle from front to back. I quote" you will have no worries for the next four years". I recently had an inspection done and learned that my front strut mounts which effect the steering needed to be replaced. A replacement normally done between 50,000 and 100,00o thousand miles. My car just turned 13,500 miles all original. Based on that mileage the front struts should not need replacing. Contacting the warranty company with several months still existing for service that Coughlin Motors arranged a company called ASC, I was told that the warranty sold to me by Coughlin which was suppose to coverer everything from front to back does not cover this repair and ASC refused to honor. If the specific part is not listed, coverage is not provided. A far cry from what Coughlin Motors told me. When I contacted Coughlin I received a run around and denial that anyone would have said I was fully covered for all repairs although this person was not purvey to the original conversation. Then I'm told that front strut mounts are not covered because of normal wear and tear like brakes. Although I understand this, front strut mounts normally need replacing between 50,000 and 100,000 miles. An apparent faulty set of mounts when originally installed and something Coughlin should have addressed prior to the car being sold. I purchased this card on-line trusting Coughlin integrity and honesty,. Although I was promised a return call on this and a solution, nothing to date has. been done. So a word of advise to my follow consumers, if it says Coughlin, walk away and buy from another dealer who does what they say and promise. Coughlin lied about the full coverage front to back and apparently lied when they stated the car, my Dodge had been fully checked and serviced prior to sale. If it had, the front strut mounts, parts that do not wear at 13,000 miles would have been changed prior to the sale. Very disappointed in this company, shop elsewhere and make sure your are getting what they promised and you paid for. I will continue addressing this on other sites hopefully protecting other customers from experiencing what I have purchasing from Coughlin. Mike HOULE Massachusettes More
Cancel Gap Insurance took way to long We paid off our auto almost 2 years or so early so we went into the dealership to cancel the gap insurance. The woman who handles this took our info and said it should take about two weeks before we get our money back in the form of a check and that she would call us when it came in. About a month later we called her since we hadn't heard from her. She wasn't in and would call back when she got in. About 6 days later, no call from her so we called back. This time they said she was on vacation and would call back when she got back on that following Monday. Guess what? Monday rolls around and NO call about anything from her. We go into the dealership a few days later to find out what is going on and to stop getting the run around. She's not in. Again. We go back again in the next few days and she is in. She says she'll look into it and after about 15-20 minutes comes out with a check that is about $100 less than what she told us we would be getting back. So, due to her incompetence or lazyness or whatever its called, we lost money. We would have been better off just calling the gap insurance company to cancel it ourselves. Say away from buying gap insurance if you don't want the hassle of getting your money back especially if that same woman is there. I would give her name but I forget what it is. More
Don't waste your time. Make the drive to Dave Kehl. Coughlin in London is awful. Several years ago I was in the market for a truck. I had one picked out but Coughlin wouldn't give me the deal I thought it was worth. They had one that "had just come in" and was supposedly the same as the one as I was dealing on. I made the deal. Got the truck home and on further review noticed all of the paint on the bottom rocker panels of the truck was gone, previous owner must have enjoyed speeding down gravel roads. Took the truck back the NEXT day and Coughlin wouldn't do anything, make another deal, paint the panels, nothing. Now, I've got a truck (bought from another dealership) that's having repair needs. Against better judgement and advice from neighbors and friends, I didn't wait for the awesome service department at Dave Kehl. Thought I could get it done quicker at Coughlin. Nope. Been in twice and spent a bunch of money and still not fixed. Don't buy their "best technicians in the area" line they feed you. Completely incompetent. Save time and money in the long run and make the trip to Dave Kehl or Byers. Seriously. More

I have a 2006 Malibu that lost the power steering assist. The car ran up on the sidewalk with my wife not being able to man handle the steering. I took the car to Coughlin in London. There is special covera The car ran up on the sidewalk with my wife not being able to man handle the steering. I took the car to Coughlin in London. There is special coverage from GM on this problem and it's covered for 10 yr 150k and supposed to repaired at no charge to the customer. However The service Dept at Coughlin wanted $85 to first fix a problem "they said" the obd would not communicate with their diagnostic scanner. I told them I was not investing any more money in this car and asked about the special coverage. They drove the car around to me and would not fix this life threating condition. I drove the car to BOBBY LAYMAN CHEVY Iin Columbus and they fixed the car and had me back on the road in 2 hours. NO CHARGE! I would not buy a quart of oil from the Coughlin Dealership in London. They need some training in Customer Relations. BOBBY LAYMAN IS THE BEST BY FAR!! More
