I just leased my 7th Subaru from Colonial Subaru in Danbury CT. I love Subarus, but I would only go to this dealership to lease and/or buy one. George Samaha, the manager, really takes care of his customers. It is a pleasure to go there and be treated in a friendly & helpful manner. When someone ran into my 5th Subaru, George took complete charge of the situation & I didn't have a thing to worry about. The service department is very efficient & the waiting room is very comfortable & very clean. I have recommended Colonial Subaru to two friends who have , subsequently , bought/leased cars there & are very satisfied with the experience. Colonial Subaru is a 5 Star operation. I just leased another Suburu and Joe Jowdy did a fantastic job. He was patient, professional and answered every question I had with a smile and expertise on the car. I was very unhappy with my experience at Colonial Subaru. I test drove a 2014 Crosstrek which I was very pleased with. After the drive, I sat down with Jon to talk numbers. I explained my situation to him th I test drove a 2014 Crosstrek which I was very pleased with. After the drive, I sat down with Jon to talk numbers. I explained my situation to him that I was shopping around for the best deal. In which he then interrupted me asking me if I live in the area. I told him that I lived in the Danbury area, to which he justified his interrupting question by telling me "well we are the only dealer in the area. Unless you want to drive quite a distance to go to another Subaru dealership..." This right away started me off feeling uncomfortable. He asked me if I had received any other quotes from other dealerships, which I had, but I told him that I would prefer not to share them just yet and asked for him to make me an offer of what his best price would be. He then responded to me quite bluntly saying "I don't make offers." I found this quite unsettling and ridiculous. From that moment on I knew that this dealership was not getting my money. However, since they are a very high volume dealership, I wanted to see how their prices would match up against the offers that I already had. To be honest, Jon ended up giving me an estimated quote that was pretty fair, $200 above his invoice (so I was told, I'm not sure how valid the number he gave me for his invoice actually was). After he finally even gave me a price, I attempted to negotiate a bit to see if he could match the current offer I had, to which he said no, quite rudely I might add. All in all, I walked into Colonial Subaru wanting to spend money, but a very poor experience from Jon Jowdy caused me to walk out. Ultimately I ended up purchasing a 2014 crosstrek from a different dealership where I received EXCELLENT service and a significantly better deal than what Colonial offered me. I am not the type of person to write reviews about companies in which I have poor experiences at, but this one left me so infuriated that I felt the need to do so. I will be sure to tell all of my friends who are looking to buy a Subaru about my poor experience as well. More
i could not be happier with my experience at this dealership, and my salesperson, Reid Ferris is the reason why. As a pediatric dentist who runs a large group practice, i know customer satisfaction, dealership, and my salesperson, Reid Ferris is the reason why. As a pediatric dentist who runs a large group practice, i know customer satisfaction, not only price is the name of the game. Mr. Ferris not only offered me the best price of any dealership in a fifty mile radius, but went above and beyond for my special order XT that was taking longer than anticipated. Without going into great detail, any dealership would be lucky to have someone like him on their team. Once again, the best price, great customer service, and exceeding expectations. Who could ask for more? PS. I have nothing to gain by writing this review. Rich Shulman More
We were looking to replace my 10 yr old Forester with a car that gets better mileage. I knew I wanted to stay with a Subaru because I've had such good luck driving my 3 previous models. I contacted Reid car that gets better mileage. I knew I wanted to stay with a Subaru because I've had such good luck driving my 3 previous models. I contacted Reid through the Costo buying site email. He got back to me quickly and arranged test drives for the models I was interested in. No fuss, no muss & no pressure to buy. Reid emailed more info to me & a few weeks later we came back ready to buy an Impreza Limited. We talked a little more about what I wanted in the car. Talked price & trade in. I was ready to get my Impreza when Reid suggested the Crosstrek since it had all the things I wanted plus better ground clearance than the Impreza. Price was more than the Impreza but Reid got the price down to an acceptable difference. We ended up test driving & then buying the Crosstrek. The best part of the process was that he didn't have to go back & forth with a manager for approval of the deal. We were done in around an hour. Our experience with Colonial has been great all around from the service department to sales. The service dept has always made me feel welcome. They answer questions about what they did. They don't rush you into big ticket repairs. I've never felt like they recommended something I didn't need. This was my first sales experience at Colonial & I am very happy with it. Price was better than I expected for the Crosstrek. Test driving was easily arranged. Reid worked at getting me the car I needed not what he was trying to sell. Great dealership! More
Reid cut to the chase and gave me a great deal on a great car. His follow-up was appropriate and not overly persistent (it is a major turnoff when a salesperson is constantly calling). He found the car with the specifications that I wanted, and the price was very competitive. The processing of the paperwork was expedited (on a Saturday, that is hard to do) so that the total time we spent at the dealership was just over one hour. I would purchase another car in the future from Reid Ferris at Colonial Subaru. More
This whole experience was refreshing. Jason responded in a timely manner when we asked if the car was still available. Arrangements were made to come down for a test drive that weekend. We were greeted by a fellow coworker as Jason was running behind to meet with us. The coworker got everything going so we could take the car for the test drive. Upon our return we met with Jason and in what I feel was a short time frame he had an offer for us that we accepted. We picked up the car 3 days later and everything ran smoothly and we were out of there in less than an hour. They additional people we worked with brought to our attention things that we could do on the side as options and when we declined they did not push. More
