After a very negative experience that day at Pohanka Hyundai in Marlowe Hgts (see review), I found myself at College Park Hyundai. The sales manager promised to beat any deal I had gotten for a 2011 So Hyundai in Marlowe Hgts (see review), I found myself at College Park Hyundai. The sales manager promised to beat any deal I had gotten for a 2011 Sonata limited(I had used the Hyundai USA web site for Washington area dealers and 2 from Baltimore) from the other 8 dealerships I contacted. First let me say that Eddie Duncan was a pleasure to deal with. He was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. He pointed out several errors in information given to me by Pohanka of Marlowe Hgts. He put no pressure on me. Answered my questions with an abundance of product knowledge. I was happy enough that I purchased an Elantra for my daughter at the same time I got the Sonata. After some discussion with the sales management about unwanted dealer add-ons, a purchase price was agreed upon. The sales process was slowed a bit by the finance person (even though I was not financing anything) and his lack of familiarity with the new MVA system. The only negative was that the $500 rebate was rolled into the price and I was not aware it was being used in the negotiated price until the time to sign for the purchase. Let me say that College Park really demonstrates customer service. They had two employees follow me home and deliver the second car, despite the fact that I live over an hour away. My wife took her new Sonata back for it's first oil change and it was free. They even had a shuttle to take her to her office while the work was being done. My wife and daughter are very happy with their new vehicles. More
I drove from DE as they had excellent price listed on new 11 Sonata. Wasn't sure what to expect(surprises!?!), but they delievered on everything they promised including BEAUTIFUL new Sonata at excellent pri 11 Sonata. I was looking for a vehicle for a specific vehicle that was in limited supply in the Middle Atlantic (about 7 units). Aileen offered to help in getting one for me. She spent 2 days on the phone pleading with dealers (none of which where close). Finally, a manager a one of the dealers recognized her name, returned her call and asked if she was working this deal, and when she said yes, he said "for you Aileen, you can have anything!" The rest is history, Aileen went herself with the salesperson to pick up the vehicle for me the next morning (Saturday), knowing that I had an extremely busy week coming up and would not be able to get in the following week. I appreciate that Aileen's professional reputation was held in such high regard that based on that alone, a dealer was willing to release a limited available vehicle. James was very helpful in showing me several "alternate" choices that I said I would like to look at, though none held up to the vehicle i finally was able to get. I thank Aileen and James for their long hours/days of work on my behalf. More
