This was overall a great experience. The employees went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Their were friendly and very informative. When we arrived in Pittsburgh after spending several years overseas, we needed a car to drive around but were told by a used car dealer on our first day here that it is impossible for me to buy a car in years overseas, we needed a car to drive around but were told by a used car dealer on our first day here that it is impossible for me to buy a car in Pennsylvania without a place to live and a PA driver’s license. That meant that we would have to drive around in expensive rental cars for a month or longer. We decided to visit a Mini Cooper dealership and Cochran VW dealership on our second day and I was very impressed with Marty’s courteous and easygoing sale approach. After making price and performance comparisons, we decided to go with the new 2012 Beetle. Marty and Josh were extremely patient and helpful in trying to find a viable solution to our problem and we were able to return our rental car (with Marty’s help, of course) and drive around in our new Beetle within the next few days. This was the first “Mission Impossible” that Cochran accomplished for us. Anybody who drives around Pittsburgh would agree with me about the poor condition of the roads around the city. I had my share of frustration when a big bubble appeared on the sidewall of one of the front tires. I was quite alarmed when I first noticed something must have been seriously wrong with the tire and called the tire manufacturer who instructed me to take the car to its dealers. After spending hours searching and calling several tire dealers and found no one who could take care of the problem for us because they either do not deal with warranty claims or do not carry the particular tire in stock, I decided to take the car to Cochran. At Cochran, I was initially disappointed because EasyCare refused to cover the repair cost even though it was obvious that the tire was damaged under road hazard conditions. Since I did not want to drive around with a tire that could blow up anytime, I decided to have it replaced at my own cost anyway. However, I felt cheated and called EasyCare up to complain about their ridiculous policy which requires that the tire has to be losing air before they can replace it under the policy coverage. I expressed my frustration to Frank who agreed to try to work out the warranty issue. After a little over an hour of waiting in Cochran’s comfortable new showroom, the car was fixed at no cost to me. Frank said he spent fifteen minutes on the phone with EasyCare and finally got them to agree that the tire was unsafe and had to be replaced under warranty. Two thumbs up to Frank and Cochran for their accomplishment of a second “Mission Impossible.” Now I know what will be the first number to call when I have any needs or problems with my car. It is the people at Cochran who are willing to go out of their way for customer that makes them the #1 dealer and I will not hesitate to buy another car from Marty if we need a second family car. More
