The Good Samaritans of Larry Hill Imports It was November 30, 2014 around 1:30 p.m. I pulled over on 75 South, coming from Kentucky headed toward Atlanta Georgia, due to some mechanical failur It was November 30, 2014 around 1:30 p.m. I pulled over on 75 South, coming from Kentucky headed toward Atlanta Georgia, due to some mechanical failure. A police officer followed me safely to the next exit next to a Fireworks building. Slightly distraught, I asked God to direct me to help. I ended up cruising toward Cleveland TN in search of help at an open service station or garage. I pulled into the Larry Hill's Service Station where I was met by a Sales Rep by the name of John Yow. I told him about my problem and he escorted me inside to see if his manager, Dan Bastnagel, knew where I may be able to find some help. Dan told me the nearest help is about 10 miles up the road! Another Sales Rep named Michael Edwards walked with me outside to assess the damage. In my mind and considering the damage, I became flooded with emotion. John Yow asked me if I believe and began to pray with me. A few moments passed and Mr. Edwards returns with a customer who offered to help, by the name of William Ransom, who happens to be a retired mechanic, and had all his tools with him. Once my tire is off, he gives me the diagnosis; my wheel bearing is gone and I can move no further safely in its condition! As parts are taken off, he finds some of my parts have melted! After some hammering and old fashioned ingenuity, the parts come off and in the words of Mr. Ransom, "Now we're in tall cotton!" Lol! I find $32 and a receipt to replace one of the parts needed in my truck. I call Auto Zone and they give me a quote of $60 for all the parts needed. Mr. Bastnagel walks up to me and says, "I have $50 in my pocket; it's yours!" "Amen!," I shout in my heart. As Mr. Ransom is reassembling, I can't thank the gentlemen enough for their gentle hearts, kind gestures and labors of love. I made it back home safe and sound.
