If I could rate them a 0 I would. I am a first time car buyer and so I went car shopping with no expectations on the type of car I could get. I went in wanting to look at a 20,000 car or less. They pulled buyer and so I went car shopping with no expectations on the type of car I could get. I went in wanting to look at a 20,000 car or less. They pulled 2 cars that they thought would work for me and I liked neither. I was trying to leave and go to Mazda because I know their cars are more reasonably priced for new buyers like me. The MANAGER stopped me outside asking what I would like. I told him and he directing me to a 40,000 car explaining I could get that car for the price I need. After 3 hours of reassuring me on a $450 a month price with 0 down we took a break and even let me take the car to lunch! Making me believe this is basically a done deal he was just getting paper work. On the 5th hour he sent the finance guy to me with a price of $588 with 1k down. Obviously incredibly higher than the we agreed on. I said absolutely not and for the second time tried to walk out this time incredibly pissed due to being promised a certain price for 5 hours!! After everyone saw I was pissed the finance guy came up to me to reassure me that whoever spoke to me was absolutely wrong for ever telling me that. They finally offered me a deal of $489 a month which should not be allowed but at that point I was so mad I left the deal and went to Mazda to get a brand new car for cheaper than they could offer me. That manager is absolutely horrible. • • I will like to say that Charles the finance guy (I hope that’s his name) is absolutely amazing and is 100% straight forward of what I could and could not do. If I could rate him alone 5+ stars I would. More
If I could select NO stars, I would. I received a form text message about 20 minutes ago from them saying we received your credit application. Knowing I did not fill one out since my vehicle is paid for & text message about 20 minutes ago from them saying we received your credit application. Knowing I did not fill one out since my vehicle is paid for & what I'm buying is about half the cost of my vehicle's value, I asked when it was submitted, what vehicle it was for but they would not answer the question. I knew it didn't happen & we're trying to weasel out of it instead of being honest. Apparently, this type behavior is the norm for this dealership. More
Worst bait and switch dealer ever Tried to buy vehicle from out of state based on online price list on website. when I FINALLY get someone to send me a price breakdown, it has $646 add Tried to buy vehicle from out of state based on online price list on website. when I FINALLY get someone to send me a price breakdown, it has $646 added to the online price (which nobody could explain, except that 'maybe it was from a different vehicle), and then the famous $2999 for their Connected and Protected add-on scam. Finally got them to figure out that the manager somehow put the wrong price down, and that they could reduced the C&P to 1,999 but refused to remove it. And then they started saying on the phone that if they reduced it to $1999, there would be other fees added to thier original quote workup. And, they could not explain what those fees were, but they almost added up to the $1000 they were taking off. BUYERS BEWARE - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! More
The worst dealership in the DFW I have been trying to get reimbursed for a canceled warranty for 2 years. No luck. They act like I was never in their dealership. Incredibly rude associates and extremely high pressure sales Stephen was arrogant and very pushy the entire time. At times he pretended to be on our side but we soon discovered it was the classic game. Much bett Stephen was arrogant and very pushy the entire time. Frustrated What an absolute nightmare. Drove from the Austin area for an appointment to see a used Jeep I had found online. The vehicle wasn't ready for us t What an absolute nightmare. Drove from the Austin area for an appointment to see a used Jeep I had found online. The vehicle wasn't ready for us to see when we arrived. Still needed to be washed, so we had to wait to see it. The appoint was made a week before and was for noon. I had to remind the salesperson which vehicle we were coming to see. The dealership tried to add a $3k warranty package on top of the list price. It took 5 HOURS for me to negotiate this off the bill. It was not something I needed or wanted, but I was told repeatedly it was required that I buy it. No. Way. The hold music talks about how they care about customer service. This is a blatant lie. Our salesman would tell us he was "going to talk to a manager", and we would see him walk away to stand by himself, for the duration of the time he would sit and let us stew. We voiced our concerns to him and the floor managers we talked to about how unfair the #2 above policy was and they passed the blame to the owners and said there was nothing they can do - this was obviously a lie since eventually after wasting 5 hours of my time, they were able to remove the charge. The configuration of the customer service stations paired with the disregard of the salespeople for customer satisfaction, leaves you subject to being talked over by the other salespeople in the corridor that are not distracted by other clients. On 2/6 I was contacted and informed my license plates were available for pick up. I had been informed when I was at the dealership that I should ask them to be FedExed, since I don't live in the DFW area. It's been a week now, and I called to check in. They have a USPS tracking number that says they have not shipped yet, and they were not able to tell me where they are or what is going on with them. I am SO ready to be free of dealing with this dealership, but it feels like the nightmare will never end. If they hadn't had the exact used vehicle I was looking for, I would have RUN the other way. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. More
Brand New 2020 Jeep Gladiator We bought a brand new 2020 Jeep gladiator from Clay Cooley on 11/11. We had it for 10 hours only for it to completely lose power and not start anymore We bought a brand new 2020 Jeep gladiator from Clay Cooley on 11/11. We had it for 10 hours only for it to completely lose power and not start anymore. We had it towed to dealership after having it for 10 hours. The main fuse had blown out of no where. We were never offered a refund or the option to switch to a different car. We got the Jeep back and had no issues until December 28,2019 when the car shut off on us while driving with no warnings. The Jeep had turned off while we were in park, we thought it was the same issue as last time, but it finally regained power. We knew we needed to get it home so we took side streets. We put it in drive and are able to go about 10 feet and then it shuts off with no warning and grinds to a stop. We do this about 4 more times before we are able to get it to a curb safely. Imagine if we had been on the highway, someone would have gotten seriously injured. So once again we have it towed to the dealership for a 2nd time in 2,400 miles. They keep it for a few days and find out the car battery was not grounded and therefore it melted the fuse box. They replaced the entire fuse box and gave it back. We refuse to take it because we could have died, but they give us no other option. They made it impossible for us to get out of this car. We get in the car to find that they never test drove it after the “fixed” it to see if it was really fixed. After a week of having it back (1/13) the check engine light comes on so we drive it to a closer dealership where they keep it. They can’t figure out what’s wrong with it so the Jeep engineer tells them to hook it up to a computer and drive it 50 miles and send them the data. Jeep gets the data and suggests an update to fix the issue. We are finally able to start talking to Clay Cooleys GM Gus McGriff who says he’s going to take care of us and try and get a trade in. We informed him that we already tried that and his dealership made it impossible because they didn’t want the Jeep either. He tells us to call him Monday morning (1/20) and he will get started on it. We call him and he’s like y’all called me a little early so give me some more time and I’ll call you back. We waited the entire day and got nothing from him. We called and texted him to just remind him that he was supposed to be working on something for us. It is now Tuesday morning and we haven’t heard anything. Buying a car through Clay Cooley has been the biggest pain and we do not recommend them at all. We have waisted 2 and a half months on them and have gotten no where. We have had issues with every person at that dealership except for Derek in the service department, he has been great. They have terrible customer service and don’t care about our safety over losing money on this jeep. A brand new car with 2,700 miles should not have been in the shop 3 times already, 2 of them having to be towed back. More

At the end of the day, I was told "we can't sell the car at the advertised price because we'd lose money." To buy the car, it required purchase of either 1) a $3000 "connect and protect" package that had far less than $3000 value, or 2) a $2000 "maintenance plan" that they refused to detail in writing. I got as far as meeting with the finance people to sign papers, only to discover they were trying to slide in the extra $2000 maintenance plan AFTER they told me they could remove it. Another huge red flag (and second reason I walked out on the deal) was when I asked to see the Truth in Lending statement, the finance person didn't know that was -- saying "we must call it something different." Since TIL is a FEDERAL requirement one would think there'd be no ambiguity, right?? I try to give benefit of the doubt, and I'd like to say they're both disorganized and deceptive. Unfortunately they way things unfolded I lean toward crooked -- hoping they can talk their way around questions with uneducated buyers. Best to shop elsewhere, where you'll be treated with some respect. More
