By far the most painless car purchase experience we have had in a while. Andrew was very professional and friendly, and at no point during our visit did we feel pressured to purchase the vehicle. As promised he arranged for us to test drive the car, had it ready and waiting for us upon arrival, and answered all of our questions. More

"A funny thing happened to me on the way home from work..." is what I've had to tell friends and family. I have been in the market for a 5.0 Mustang for about three years now, ever since the Coyote p work..." is what I've had to tell friends and family. I have been in the market for a 5.0 Mustang for about three years now, ever since the Coyote powerplant hit the ground and made my jaw drop; my MazdaSpeed 3 and its turbo lag just couldn't cut it, even with my custom tune and $3,000 or so in aftermarket parts. Long story short, I landed a great job in Columbia, SC, and had gotten a serious itch when I saw the 2013 5.0s. I was on the fence between a GT premium and a Boss 302, and stopped by Classic Ford literally just to have a look. I knew it was going to take me 2 months to get a healthy down payment together (following "Dad's" advice and putting at least 20% down) and also to pay off some credit card debt to boost my FICO score. Really, "just looking..." I was admiring a Deep Impact Blue GT when Bob Eason strolled over. "Here we go..." I thought to myself, well accustomed to sales staff. Bob was the antithesis of what I expected however. Calm, friendly, and soft-spoken, we simply admired the cars together for ten minutes or so. It was I who suggested we take a look at the Boss 302, and it was I who started to explain my financial situation. Bob never brought up money, or pushed hard on the car (in the back of my mind, I was praying he would twist me arm). Instead, Bob just let me examine the cars in silent awe. He mentioned, rightly, that the car wasn't going to just sit around, which is a fact. I suggested we go "run some numbers." Bob and I went to his cube, and he put me at ease pulling together paperwork. The thing I appreciated most was that he made the whole process very transparent. He showed me the deal he was proposing, and we both used his computer to pull down my insurance and proof of income (without which I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to finance). Bob put a buffer between me and the sales director, who, being blunt, was the most unpleasant part of the experience. When the sales director got involved, he put "the whammy" on me and started spewing mystical mumbo jumbo about why this car was so special I should pay $5000 above MSRP. It was at this point that I was ready to walk away, but Bob saved the day, spoke casually to me about the deal following me out to my car, and in the end I got a price that was fair (though the procurement director in me has a touch of remorse paying anything but a cut above invoice, but hey, it is a special car). The finance director was as equally pleasant to work with as Bob, and it was he who suggested I should just refinance in 2 months when I had my expected down payment together and a FICO that was boosted by 80 - 100 points when I paid off my cards. I was already planning on doing this, but to have him suggest it suggests character and actual concern for customers, as opposed to the typical dealership mentality of wolves grazing on the sheep coming through the door. So, in all candor, Classic Ford, and Bob in particular, is in the business of making dreams come true. The way I see it, I get to drive my dream car while I finalize logistics I was already planning on doing, and have that one in a million experience of having my cake and eating it too. Many thanks to Bob Eason, and I'd shop at Classic Ford again, if only to pin the sales director down to an invoice price on the economy car I need to buy to take back to Baton Rouge with me. I have financing in hand, Bob, give me a call sometime... Lol. Seriously, great experience, pleasant to work with. The mechanics were all stoked I was buying the Boss, and their Shop leader was already putting me in touch with clubs, race mechanics, and willing to install some aftermarket parts for me. At Classic Ford, they welcome you into the "Ford Family", and I appreciated every minute of it. More
