I was just starting to shop for a new car and was unsure what I wanted or even could afford. Mr. Gibson helped be work with finances first and then go drive a car. When it was not what I wanted, he found an what I wanted or even could afford. Mr. Gibson helped be work with finances first and then go drive a car. When it was not what I wanted, he found another car that might be what I was looking for, and got his manager involved. I found what I wanted with some changes, and he and his manager found the vehicle I wanted within the price range I was comfortable with. It was a good experience! More
Overall I would definitely recommend Classic Ford of Columbia, and more specifically I would tell someone looking to buy a car to talk the salesmen, Jason Belton. As a first time buyer I was nervous and Columbia, and more specifically I would tell someone looking to buy a car to talk the salesmen, Jason Belton. As a first time buyer I was nervous and very hesitant in making a final decision. Jason Belton and the rest of the Classic Ford team made the transition to my new car as easy as possible. Jason Belton was very helpful and informative about the benefits a new Ford vehicle can offer, and played a key role in my motivation to purchase a new Ford. One important quality Jason Belton had also, was a hassle-free approach in selling cars. I am glad I choose the Classic Ford of Columbia, and I had the pleasure to work with Jason Belton to purchase my first new vehicle. Although I was interested in taking a closer look at a Lincoln MKZ for quite a while, I put off contacting a dealer because I expected the typical sales pitch and high-pressure tactics. I was pleasantly s Lincoln MKZ for quite a while, I put off contacting a dealer because I expected the typical sales pitch and high-pressure tactics. I was pleasantly surprised after contacting Classic Ford Lincoln of Columbia. Mack Spain was friendly and helpful on the initial visit, answering all questions patiently and providing an informative test drive while showing the special features of the MKZ. He set up a Lincoln Date Night appointment that allowed us to test the car over a weekend. When we returned to express interest in taking the next step towards ownership, Mack walked us through a number of different options and worked with us to come up with an acceptable agreement for purchase. When our special-order MKZ arrived a few weeks later, Mack had it ready for us within hours and and spent a good deal of time with us going over features and details. The managers and financial folks at Classic Ford Lincoln were all friendly and helpful, and the final paperwork process was handled in an efficient and streamlined manner. I highly recommend this dealership. More
I had looked extensively on-line for a Lincoln MKZ throughout the Southeast as I'm not opposed to driving to get the best deal. Nicole was very interested in keeping my business locally and was able throughout the Southeast as I'm not opposed to driving to get the best deal. Nicole was very interested in keeping my business locally and was able to match the best deal I had found (in another state). I wanted to buy locally if at all possible so I was thrilled that they were able to help me at Classic Ford. More
The only negative experience I had was with Chuck, the finance guy. At first he really spoke down to me like I was sort of incompetent and was unfamiliar with how money worked and credit reports, etc. Lit finance guy. At first he really spoke down to me like I was sort of incompetent and was unfamiliar with how money worked and credit reports, etc. Little did he know, until my awesome sales rep Rico spoke up for me when he noticed this blatant disrespect that I work for a well known property management company and am the head of running application in addition to other tasks. Meaning that I approve and deny people for homes everyday including running their credit and reviewing this in detail. I also have Bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and am in graduate school at Charleston Southern. in no was am I dumb or misunderstood anything he said, so his disrespect was not needed or appreciated. If the negotiated price was not down to what I needed and Rico was not as helpful as he was I would not have gave this dealership as great of a review. Chuck gives this dealership I bad representation I believe. However, Rico Gibson is by far the best car dealer I have ever had the please of dealing with, including on the lot. The day I bought my car I had visited 3 other lots and he was not only the most friendly but the least pushy and gave me my space and room to think. He is awesome and represents your dealership and brand very well. 5 stars for him!!! :) More
I went in looking for a vehicle to replace one that unexpectedly broke down. I thought I could only afford a used vehicle, but they were able to put me in a brand new one for a decent monthly payment. unexpectedly broke down. On 11/20/13 I visited Classic Ford and purchased a used 2007 Honda Accord EX. Dayle Davis, was the salesman and before I purchased the car I asked him about any issues with the car and he stated that the c 2007 Honda Accord EX. Dayle Davis, was the salesman and before I purchased the car I asked him about any issues with the car and he stated that the car goes through a service check before it can be sold. Also he stated to me that he likes to sleep at night and with that being said he wouldn't sell a car that he knew had issues. Then we looked the car over on the outside and under the hood, before I test drove it. I didn't see any issue with the car and purchased it in good faith that the car had been checked out and everything was fine. When I got the car home, I went to remove the front tags off of the car and noticed a fluid leak under the car at the front. It looked like power steering or oil but I was sure. So the next day I had the car checked out at a Firestone dealer to see if it was a simple problem. However, I was told by two Master Techs, that it wasn't and advised that it could be the "Rear Main Seal" and to take it to the dealer. So I called Eric the sales manager and told him the issue and he told me to bring it in so his guys could look at it. When I got to Classic Ford I was told by Eric that the car would be looked at and fixed there. By the end of the day I was notified by Dayle, that the car was ready and that he would explain to me what the mechanic said but I was out of town and couldn't show up until the next day. So the next morning I showed up to get my car and was told by Dayle and Eric that the mechanic said he couldn't find any leaks and it looked like someone threw oil up under the car. So nothing was fixed because they said the car was fine. Also, the spot where the car was sitting all night I couldn't see any oil spot. I also asked if any additive was put in the car just as a quick fix and was told no by Dayle, because they have a reputation to up hold. So when I got home and pulled into my driveway in a different location and turned off the car it started leaking oil again and I notice that the oil was a clear gold color and that Classic Ford has a blacktop parking lot, so no wonder I didn't see any oil spots and it looked fine. Eric stated to me that if I saw the same problem to bring the car back for inspection but I feel as if I was lied to multiple times about the car having no issues. Once before I purchased the car and after me and two Master Techs, notice the car had an oil leak problem and now that the car has been purchased Classic Ford can care less about the issue. I also feel that Classic Ford is making me feel as if I cause this problem when the car started leaking the day I purchased the car and took it home before anything was looked at by anyone. I feel this problem was known about and Classic Ford just didn't won't to fix and instead sell the car off to some "Joe" for them to deal with and as for the so called 'Reputation" to up hold. How can you trust that? Along with trusting that they will fix the car right this time and not quick fix or lie to me again because the car is still leaking oil right now in the same area! This has been a bad experience for me buying a used car from Classic Ford and a lesson learned. Finally, a part of me also feel that this issue will be pushed under the rug and not even addressed but I'm writing anyway hoping that someone would take notice so that the next "Joe" won't get a bad experience as I did and stuck with a possible major issue just after a car purchase.
