Save yourself some grief - Avoid Classic CDJR Fiat of Arlington, especially avoid the service department. On July 21, 2020 jpirtle@classiccdjrf responded to several DealerRater reviews. On the negative reviews jpirtle wrote “will you please reach out to me at jprirtle@classiccdjrf.com so we can look into this further. Okay, I had a negative review of Classic CDJR Fiat of Arlington about the physical damage that my Pacifica Hybrid received during a November 2019 maintenance visit so I reached out to jpirtle@classiccdjrf.com on July 23, 2020. Well it is August 25, 2020 and still no response from jpirtle@classiccdjrf.com. One would think four weeks would be enough time to write back to a former customer. Glen Pirtle Jr and Tom Durant are the Owner/Principals for Classic CDJR Arlington, LLC (dba) Classic CDJRF of Arlington. Laura Lee Pirtle is Glens wife and works as a Customer Relations Manager. I do not know who jpirtle@classiccdjrf.com is. jpirtle may be Jennilee Pirtle. On July 21, 2020 jpirtle went through the DealerRater reviews and added comments or added the “reach out to me” note. The last comment or review that had been acknowledged by the folks at Classic CDJR Fiat of Arlington was on December 20, 2018. Along with jpirtle writing the “reach out to me” note on July 21, 2020 Classic CDJR Fiat of Arlington was lucky, they also received a glowing five-star review on the same day. As I had mentioned in my previous review of Classic CDJRF of Arlington when I purchased my Pacifica Hybrid from Classic CDJRF of Arlington I might have given them a five-star rating. Today my recommendation is stay away from this dealership. If I could give another review it would be another “one star” negative review about the actions of Classic CDJRF of Arlington’s jpirtle@classiccdjrf.com asking to be contacted but not responding. In this response I will include an update to my February 23, 2020 DealerRater review that I had submitted about Classic CDJRF of Arlington. I had mentioned that when I filed my BBB complaint, In February 2020, Classic CDJRF of Arlington had an “F” rating. In the first week of March 2020 the BBB changed Classic CDJRF of Arlington’s rating to “NR” for not rated. I suspect the BBB was going to give Classic CDJRF another chance to respond to complaints. I think the rating today is a “B-“. On March 10, 2020 Classic CDJRF of Arlington responded to my BBB complaint about the physical damage to my Pacifica Hybrid that had occurred in November 2019. When the Pacifica came out of the shop on November 27, 2019 there were four dents and another four to six marks next to the charging port on the left front fender. The rear left wheel had rim damage and the tire sidewall near the rim damage had a rubber divot cut out. Owner/Principal Glen Pirtle writes in his BBB response : 1. we are in receipt of the customer concern. Carmine Bianco, Service Director, has meet with this customer on multiple occasions. From November 27, 2019 to August 25, 2020 I have not met or had any discussion with Service Director Carmine Bianco about the Pacifica damage. I do not know why Glen Pirtle as an owner of Classic CDJRF of Arlington would make this false claim. 2. After picking up his vehicle from service approximately 3 weeks later Custer claimed we damage his wheel, tire and put 5 small dents around his charging port. (I guess Custer is short for customer) Again, Classic CDJRF of Arlington owner Glen Pirtle makes another false statement. I did not wait three weeks to make a claim of damage I reported the damage the same day I picked up the Pacifica. Service Advisor Juan Garces took pictures and I took pictures. In addition, I wrote Laura Lee Pirtle, Customer Relations Manager, within three days about the damage. I don’t know what Classic CDJRF of Arlington owner Glen Pirtle was thinking when he made the three weeks comment, we have pictures with timestamps on November 27, 2019 and timestamps on the back and forth email with Glens wife Laura Lee, Customer Relations Manager. 3. The customer filed a road hazard insurance claim stating the damage was in fact caused by a road hazard. Again, Classic CDJRF of Arlington owner Glen Pirtle makes another false statement. I never made any statement that I had file a road hazard insurance claim stating the damage was in fact caused by a road hazard. 4. The 5 small dents are consistent with the electrical charger bumping the side of the vehicle which cause this conditions over time. Carmine went as far as placing small pieces of tape to demonstrate how it happens. There were four dents and another four to six marks next to the charging port when the Pacifica came out of maintenance at Classic CDJRF of Arlington. Glen Pirtle writes “The 5 small dents are consistent with the electrical charger bumping the side of the vehicle which cause this condition over time. Carmine went as far as placing small pieces of tape to demonstrate how this happens.” Until Glens comment about “electrical charger bumping” I had never heard of this “electrical charger bumping” phenomena. I do not know who Carmine demonstrated this “electrical charger bumping” to but it was not me. My wife and I plug in the charging cable into the charging port daily, one or two times, sometimes more and we have never experienced this “electrical charger bumping” because our Pacifica did not have dents around the charging port until the Pacifica came out of the shop on November 27, 2019. The Pacifica was in the shop for a backup surround camera issue, I suspect Glens claim of electrical charger bumping was probably more like another vehicle next to mine in the shop and someone repeatedly banged the side of the Pacifica. Classic CDJRF and I went back and forth on the BBB complaint March 10, 2020. Classic CDJRF of Arlington denies damaging the Pacifica. Although the BBB complaint is closed this issue is still unresolved and is still being worked by me. Another reason why you should really, really avoid the service department at Classic CDJRF of Arlington. After the March 10th BBB round of back and forth statements I get this message on my home phone recorder - “ Mr. …., good afternoon my name is Carmine we spoke several times in regards to your Pacifica. Please give me a call at …." I have not, since my Pacifica came out of the shop with damage on November 27, 2019 talked to Carmine or met him to discuss the Pacifica damage. Based on the claims being made in Classic CDJRF of Arlington’s BBB response I was not about to call Carmine Bianco instead I wrote him back: (March 11, 2020) Hello Mr. Bianco, Just wanted to acknowledge the message you left on my phone recorder Tuesday. It is finally good to hear from you. The message you left me on Tuesday was the first contact I have had with you since my vehicle was damaged at Classic CDJR Fiat of Arlington in late November 2019. You said in your message, “We spoke several times in regards to your Pacifica.” Carmine you must have me mixed up with someone else. I have not spoke to you or met with you to discuss the Pacifica damage. In Tuesday’s message you also asked me to give you a call at your 469-xxx-xxxx number. If you were calling to let me know that Classic has responded to my BBB complaint, yes, I am aware of Glen’s response and you have already responded to my rejection of Glen’s response. And I have rejected your response. If there is anything else you wish to discuss with me, I would request you sent me an email. Service Director Carmine Bianco never wrote back. Right after the Pacifica came out of Classic CDJRF of Arlington in November 2019 with damage I started the email process with Customer Relations Manager Laura Lee Pirtle to get the Pacifica repaired. Laura Lee Pirtle directs me to Carmine (11/30/19) I write Service Director Carmine Bianco – no response (12/2/19 and 12/9/19) Back to Laura Lee, she gets Service Manager Paul Sears to contact me. (12/18/19) Paul sends me an email. (12/18/19) I take the Pacifica back in, Paul is in a meeting but someone else takes more pictures. (12/19/19) I write Service Manager Paul Sears – no response (12/22/19) I write Service Manager Paul Sears – no response (12/27/19) I write Service Manager Paul Sears about the status of the claim – no response (1/2/20) Back to Laura Lee Pirtle she writes back on 1/15/20 … Carmine forwarded a few emails from Paul to you (recently as 1-13-20). They say they haven’t heard from you. Can you give me a contact number that you can best be reached from because we aren’t sure you have gotten Paul’s emails lately. I write Laura Lee back, (1/15/20) will you please forward Paul’s emails to me I would like to review them. I also gave my contact information to Laura Lee. Now you must remember I bought my Pacifica at their dealership, they have my home and cell phone numbers, my home and my email address. And Service Manager Paul Sears did send me an email back on 12/18/19 when he asked me to bring the Pacifica back in and now his emails are not reaching me and they do not know how to contact me, really! Laura Lee does not respond which means she did not forward to me the emails that Laura Lee, Carmine and Paul claimed Paul had tried to send me. Where are we at today? I sent a package of documentation and pictures certified mail to Classic CDJRF of Arlington “Owner/Principal” Tom Durant on July 30, 2020. I asked to be reimbursed for repairs that were done to the Pacifica after my Pacifica came out of their shop with the damages. In all the repairs totaled $1039.73. It has almost been a month since a sent the certified package to Mr. Durant. I will wait another week for Mr. Durant’s response and based on the history of Classic CDJRF of Arlington I suspect there will be no response from Tom Durant. I will have to continue to work the dispute. ******************* 10/13/20 update ************** Around the middle of September I started the process to take this dispute to small claims court. As I was researching a couple of technical questions with going to court, on 9/18/20 I received a check from Classic CDJR of Arlington in the amount of $1039.73. Attached with the check was a letter from Classic CDJR of Arlington Partner and Vice Pres. Darren Lancaster. He apologize for the experience I received and said he appreciated the feedback and hoped that I would give the dealership another chance. I think for now I will wait until the dealership has a BBB rating of at least a "A-" before I think of going back. I'll close this review out with whenever you are going to any dealership or have car maintenance somewhere, when you arrive at the location take pictures of your car and when you get you car back, before you leave take more pictures of your car. If there is any damage dispute you'll have the before and after pictures to help resolve the dispute. I noticed the other day at another car dealership where I now go someone brought their car into the shop got out walked around taking pictures of their car.
