For me, a typical auto purchase has been an agonizing process. I've purchased approximately 15 vehicles. Which I understand is not a large number to say the least. However, I believe it is a sample size large enough to give me a good idea about what excellent customer service is. Of those 15 I can say only 3 measured up to that bar. I'll gladly include my experience with Classic Chevrolet, Tommy Sykes, and Zach Lovelace as one of those elite 3. My purchase this time was a Chevy Cruze for my daughter's birthday which is April 19. I went in on Tuesday, April 16 to inquire about the car. The salesman I met was Tommy Sykes. This was quite a coincidence because Tommy sold me the first vehicle I bought 25 years ago. I can honestly say he was extremely thorough and professional both then and now when it came to the specifics about the vehicle I wanted. Although Classic didn't have the exact Cruze I was looking for Tommy quickly procured one from another lot. In fact, it was there the next day. When it arrived Tommy called me to let me know it was there. I was unable to pick up the car that day. Tommy said it was no problem and that I could pick it up Thursday or Friday at my convenience. It just so happened there was a large thunderstorm predicted to occur Wednesday night. Tommy called me that afternoon and said not to worry, he had moved the car onto the sales floor to protect it from the storm. What more can a salesman do to show that he is courteous and that he anticipated my need before I did? That brings me to Thursday afternoon when I went to the dealership to complete paperwork and take the car. Tommy still had the car on the sales floor, making it was easier for me to inspect and make sure it was what I ordered. It was of course, so Tommy handed me off to Zach Lovelace to complete the necessary purchase documents. I was not at all surprised that Zach had a deal drawn up with more than what I was intending to purchase. While this had been a point of confrontation in most purchases I have made, Zach professionally walked me through what each charge meant and courteously described what the implications were if I declined them. From our conversation, he came to understand my need for the car and why it was economically necessary for me to keep the payment as low as possible. All in all, I have to describe my purchase experience at Classic Chevrolet as pleasant. That's another adjective I don't throw around lightly. As I stated earlier, car purchases can be gutwrenching. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone with an interest in buying a car. I would also recommend Tommy and Zach specifically. Because of them, I had the pleasure of completely surprising my daughter with the car she wanted. More
