We recently bought a 2013 Subaru Legacy from Subaru of Claremont in NH and had a great experience. The sales representative, Luke, was courteous and friendly, but very professional. For my first time purchasing a car, I was amazed at how easy and quickly the process went. Luke and everyone else that I met with was extremely helpful and friendly. At no point did I feel that I was being easy and quickly the process went. Luke and everyone else that I met with was extremely helpful and friendly. At no point did I feel that I was being pressured to buy anything. I was so glad and relieved that everything worked out and that I was able to find a car and drive away with it the same day. I have been doing business with this dealership off and on since 2005. First experience with salesperson (Phil) in 2005 was great. Unlike other dealerships in the Upper Valley, he didn't pressure me into buying something I could not afford. Also, was very concerned that they did everything I needed. My first car repair, I couldn't get the car into Claremont so Peter Mans Jr.(think it was him) picked my car up from work and brought it back when finished. In December of 2011, I decided to look into leasing. I really wanted an Outback, but didn't think I could afford it (even leasing price seemed high). Because of my past positive experience, I decided to go back to Claremont. Phil was no longer there, but Luke Gendron was the salesperson who greeted me. His demeanor is very calm and helpful. He was exceptionally professional and being new to the business (which he admitted) was not at all pushy. If he didn't know the answer to a question, no matter how trivial ( i had many!) it didn't faze him at all and he always got back to me with answer. I didn't feel rushed or pressured, in fact I didn't feel like I was in a car dealership and chomping at the bit to get out!! Luke made sure that he could get me into something I loved and that I could afford. After my leasing purchase, he followed up every so often to see how things were going and to see if I had any questions. I think this is important to make people feel thought about with new product vs. just being sold something and forgot about.....! Worth mentioning this; When there was a misunderstanding about a free vacuuming which I thought was suppose to occur with my first servicing, Luke stepped up and paid for the vacuum service out of his own pocket (way unexpected and very generous!) example of his character and good business ethics! I hope his bosses know they have a gem in Luke! Would also like to mention the service dept. Gary, Jesse and not sure other persons name, but all of whom I have dealt with have been professional and understanding. When or if there are big repair jobs they try really hard to work out a way to get things done at an affordable price and always ask if I need a loaner if work longer than a few hr. (usually right on with their time estimates)! Also, always get a free car wash on all services, even to plug a tire....! Never had this at any other dealership! So keep up the good work guys......!!! Highly recommend Subaru of Claremont!! More
My experience at Subaru of Claremont was incredibly positive. I never felt like anyone was pressuring me or trying to coerce me into something I didn't need or want. I found my car online and I live in St. Louis, MO so it was really nice to be able to do the negotiating and coordinating about the car via telephone and email. Luke also worked pretty hard (or at least I thought he worked hard) with me and his people to negotiate a price on the car that I could afford which was extremely helpful. It felt like Luke and the team at Subaru of Claremont really had my best interest in mind throughout this whole process. I don't know if I would travel 1200 miles again to purchase a car but if it happens or I move a bit closer, I would go back to Subaru of Claremont for my car. More
I was looking to buy my first new car and was a little intimidated by such a big decision. Luke could not have been more helpful in explaining my options to me and I felt like I had a good grasp of what I intimidated by such a big decision. I felt like he was genuinely interested in helping me and he listened carefully to what I was looking for in a car. I also never felt like there was pressure to buy something, and he often reminded me that being happy with the car was the most important thing. This has been by far the most pleasant experience with a dealership that I will be coming back here for my next car. More
My wife and I recently purchased a 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport from Luke at Subaru of Claremont. We live in Hanover NH so Claremont is about a 50 minute drive away but ended up being WELL worth it (over a more local subaru dealership). We called ahead and by the time we got there, there was a test model all set up ready for us to test drive. The sales rep (Luke) was extremely helpful and candid to our questions. He wasn't trying to "sell" us anything. He just answered our questions and provided any information we needed. He gave us honest answers about the car.. what was good with this model, and even- what were some of the drawbacks of the car (which obviously weren't enough to detract us from buying one!) When we had questions that he didn't know the answer to, he did some research and got back to us by email when had a complete answer. We placed an order for a new car which was slated for a 6-8 week delivery. We got it in 6 (I think because Luke was able to keep an eye on the tracking and made sure they unloaded it as soon as it arrived in port). we LOVE our car!! (of course anyone else reading this is probably equally partial to subarus so you know what I mean!) We only have a narrow perspective of the entire store so I can only comment on our experience buying a new car (have not tested their service department yet) but we walked away very happy. Comparing what we paid versus what other have been paying (checking out through some online research), I think we got a really good deal. Also, buying in NH with no sales tax doesn't hurt either :) More
My Subaru went in for State Inspection and several other needed items of service. I talked with Gary the afternoon before the scheduled appointment, left the car, and went home. The next morning I received a call stating several other items that needed attention, especially to receive state inspection. The tires were also no good due to manufacturer's fault. Gary and Jim in Parts were able to have the tires covered and I received a healthy discount on the new tires (they are great tires). Gary explained a couple items to me and I told him to proceed. He said he'd call when the car was ready. Guess what? Gary called when the car was ready. Yes, that is different than the past. Gary was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous - all those good traits that should be in someone dealing with the public. Yes, a huge pleasure after dealing with so many other establishments and their "be quiet, we know what we are doing, it will be ready when it's ready, there's no need to smile" attitude. More
Luke and the rest of the team at Subaru of Claremont created a very pleasant car buying experience. Jesse and Luke organized to get it in as soon as possible and it was fixed the same day. I have since recommended Luke and the rest of the team to friends that are considering new vehicles. More
