Peter Mans needs to continue hiring superlative Sales Consultants like Lucas Pedras who was polite, pleasant, who listened to me, and who cared about what I wanted. He worked very hard for me and was easy to contact later and always available. Lucas' excellent customer service qualities are hard to find today. It was very refreshing. I have purchased 5 Subarus in 12 years and Lucas was by far the most outstanding consultant. You are very fortunate to have someone who has Lucas' work ethic. As well, both Peter Mans' are top of the line. The agency is immaculate and the overall customer service so wonderful. I love coming to Subaru in Claremont because everyone is so friendly and I feel as though I matter! Sarah Baldwin More
My wife was recently in an accident where someone ran a red light and totaled her car. We quickly began looking for a replacement and found a reasonably priced similar vehicle two hours away in Claremont. red light and totaled her car. We quickly began looking for a replacement and found a reasonably priced similar vehicle two hours away in Claremont. We set aside one day to look at it and one day to pick it up if we liked it. The salesman was made aware of our long trip and appeared to appreciate our willingness to drive four hours round trip. As it turned out, the vehicle was as described and we were able to negotiate a price well below the true market value. We made a down payment and planned to pick it up a few days later. When the day came to pick it up the process went smoothly and we were quickly on our way. I was excited about our experience and felt that we had found a place to do business in the future. That's why I was quite surprised at what happened next. When I went to register the car in my wife’s name (just like her old car was) I was told that I would have to re-inspect it because all the paperwork was done with my name first and not my wife's. The other option was to register it in my name and then lose the remaining balance on the registration from the other vehicle. Since the dealership never asked me whose name the vehicle would be registered in I went ahead and registered it in my wife's name and thought that they would help me with the new inspection. I was very surprised when I called and was told that they would take care of it only if I was willing to drive another four hours round trip to get the correct inspection sticker. Considering the cost of gas and my time I found the offer to be somewhat unrealistic and borderline insulting. I then asked if they could contact a Subaru dealership closer to our home where we could inspect it and was told that it wasn't possible because they are all independent. I then asked it they would just reimburse me the $35 and was told that they wouldn't do that either. After then expressing my disappointment to the salesman on the phone, reminding him that an inspection was part of the deal, he, in an aggressive manor, told me to mail him the receipt and said that he would take care of it. At this point I told him I would think it over and discuss it with my wife. Long story short, my disappointment had little to do with the loss of $35. I was bothered that the dealership wasn’t willing to do the right thing right away. If you have to force someone to do the right thing it really doesn't count. To sum up my thoughts on this dealership, I would say that I paid a good price but was disappointed after the purchase. If small things matter and service after the sale is important to you, I would recommend you steer clear of Subaru of Claremont. More
Clearly a cut above all the other dealerships in the area. We decided to purchase a Subaru Forester with this dealership and our salesmen was Luke. He was professional, answered our questions complete area. We decided to purchase a Subaru Forester with this dealership and our salesmen was Luke. He was professional, answered our questions completely and had no problem taking the time for us to feel comfortable with our purchase. Since then we have serviced our vehicle at this location, traveling 30 miles out of our way. Their staff is honest, informative and a pleasure to be around. Everyone goes out of there way to make you feel welcome and aware of the situation with our vehicle. This is the best dealership in the area! Thank you guys! More
Went into dealer and test drove a car. When asked about price quoted us 25% more than their published website rate (which was already %25 above the national average for this vehicle). This had nothing to d price quoted us 25% more than their published website rate (which was already %25 above the national average for this vehicle). This had nothing to do with our superior credit score because they didn't have it. Needless to say we walked away and spent our money elsewhere. Got a great car at a great price from a superior dealership. Buyer beware! Subaru of Claremont is the Bernie Madoff of car dealerships. They'll rob you blind if you allow it-all the while smiling in your face. Do your research and you'll see that they consistently overprice their inventory. It's your money-spend it wisely. More
I went here to purchase a used car, and was pressured the moment I pulled into the parking lot. I was approached by 4 salesmen within 10 minutes of being on the lot begging for my business. I was very uncomf moment I pulled into the parking lot. I was approached by 4 salesmen within 10 minutes of being on the lot begging for my business. I was very uncomfortable. I asked why the prices were not on the cars and the salesman told me it was thier way of competing with consumers informed by NADA, edmunds, and KBB. I asked the salesman for a list of prices so I could decide on a car without his pressure, and he told me that they had no paper lists, all prices had to be looked up electronically. I made him a list of cars I was interested in, and he pulled out a paperlist right in front of me to look up the prices! (LIE#1) He then told me that all the cars I put on the list were within $1000 in price, so instead of discussin them all just tell him my 2 favorite and we would negotiate from there. I told him no, I wanted to make an informed decision about them all. When he told me thier prices, they differed by thousands! Like over $5000! (LIE#2) The trip to this dealer was a complete waste of my time. Not only were the salesmen pushy, they were dishonest. And the pricing was also really high. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone. More
We went to Subaru of Claremont because we were not happy with the dealer that we purchased the car from (long story). We needed a 30000 mile service for our Outback and initially we just called around to ge with the dealer that we purchased the car from (long story). We needed a 30000 mile service for our Outback and initially we just called around to get prices. We chose Claremont because they were the most reasonably priced in the area. Though we had never been there before, I can honestly say that I was impressed after the visit. Gary and the other people there were all super nice and they got the job done when they said they would. The bill ended up being about $25 less than what they estimated which I thought was nice. We WILL be servicing our Outback there again when the time comes. More
Just out right crooks. Called on a Monday to have them do work and inspection IN THAT ORDER. Went in Wednesday to find out they did not order parts, then failed inspection because they did not order parts. T work and inspection IN THAT ORDER. Went in Wednesday to find out they did not order parts, then failed inspection because they did not order parts. Took them 3 hours to check out a rear wiper and fail the inspection because of the wiper motor (that they failed to order). Now they want me to waste another 3 hours of a day in hopes they fix it. When I called to complain the general manager screamed at me and threatened to sue. Very unprofessional. I will never do business with them again. More

I am from Montreal and purchased a new Outback from Claremont Subaru about a year ago. I am actually sitting in the dealership as I write this trying to kill some time while my car is getting the 15,00 Claremont Subaru about a year ago. I am actually sitting in the dealership as I write this trying to kill some time while my car is getting the 15,000 mile service. I had a great experience in the sales department but what has really impressed me is their service department. This is my third visit as I travel down here frequently and the people here have been great. They said the service was going to take about an hour and half and they promptly asked me if I wanted a loaner vehicle. I didn't need one but it was nice of them to ask. On my last visit I did need a loaner car, but didn't realize I needed to book that in advance and they were all out of loaner cars that day. Danielle spoke with one of the owners and a young man by the name of Peter approached me and handed me the keys to his personal car. I never would have even imagined this could ever occur. I read the other review and it was so completely contrary to my experiences that I felt I had to write something nice about about these people. I used to service and buy my cars in Canada, but with the nice people here I can't ever see myself going back to Auto Centre. More
I did have a great experience with my salesperson Brett. It was when I met the Owner's son Peter the General Manager that I changed my mind about buying my vehicle here. I would think that someone left in It was when I met the Owner's son Peter the General Manager that I changed my mind about buying my vehicle here. I would think that someone left in charge of a big dealership like this would be a little less of a horse's xxx than this guy. This is a prime example of why you hire people who can do the job, not just a family member you're trying to help out. Peter Sr ran a great dealership and I was happy to do business there. With him gone and his incompetent son running the show I would say the a drive to Keene, Brattleboro, or Norwich is well worth the gas and travel time to deal with a professionally run organization. So sad to see a man's life work be destroyed by his son. More
