On that receipt I don't remember anything being written down when I got the vehicle back. When I drove it away, the screen worked. As soon as the engine warms up, it goes blank. A rep called me some months later and asked how the service was, I told him they didn't do any research on it but assumed it was working fine when they started the engine. I asked him to speak to City Toyota and call me back. He never did. A guy called me a few weeks ago to bring my car in for a regular service and I told him the same story. He never called me back. (Customer service and follow through is non existent). This time, I wrote the docket myself as one man said they were too busy as it was the end of the day, so I documented it on the docket. I spoke to the guy and we went through my explanation stating that it was still under warranty when I brought it back at 90K. This time they repaired the dome lights, left the plastic cover on the floor where the cover was for the internal fuse, and never put that back over the overhead bulbs. The technician (Javier) called me and he said it would be around $5k to replace it. I told him I complained when it was under warranty and he told me he would speak to his boss. Then an hour later I got an email to pick the car up, that I REFUSED the costly repair (I did not). I assumed he never spoke to his boss, or failed to note that on the document. I then complained to the guy with dyed hair where I paid for the service and he just said "oh really" and continued to tell me where to go to pick up the car. So in closing, two reps never called me back or followed up when I complained when they said they would. Two services never fixed the stereo issue and 1 never even checked and the last technician never spoke to his boss. Very very poor service especially due to the fact that I bought the car at that location. I will be making further complaints to the dealership and their management after I write this up. I would dearly like a response to this and a path forward for repair. I was even willing to purchase another front stereo and asked Javier to speak to his boss which again he did not. I lodged a complaint with Toyota Brand Engagement Center who gave me a reference number and informed me to contact City Toyota's Customer Relations Manager. When I called this morning 4/4/25, the lady said they didn't have a Customer Relations Manager, She wanted to pass me to Chris Hansen. I asked that I should email him first to explain the story and she "didn't have" his email address. So I'm now being lied to. To be fair, the technician has tried to reach out to me a couple of times but I was away. He never informed me of anything except to call him back. At this stage I need someone to call me and if I don't answer, provide some sort of explanation before I take this further. Regards Karl Doyle More
While Carl was great , the way the appointments are handled is very questionable. I had my appointment at 7:10am and I arrived on time and I had already at least 30 cars ahead. I asked one of the perso handled is very questionable. I had my appointment at 7:10am and I arrived on time and I had already at least 30 cars ahead. I asked one of the person who works there - no Carl-, if all those people had appointments ahead of me and he told me that some of them yes , other came without appointments and other came 2 hours before their appointments and they are all taking care of because "we tried to respect the scheduled appointment." Well... but apparently City Toyota would take anyone who comes first... essentially your appointment system is useless. I had to wait 2:30 - 3 hours for an oil change and this is not the first time, every time I made an appointment and there are people "without" appointments or way ahead of their appointments and City Toyota would take them all without caring about customers that made their appointment and come on time like me. I reviewed you with 1 start because there is not a 1/2 start. Just a waste of time to make an appointment, get in time to wait for hours because some people do whatever they want to get their car serviced. Don’t even bother to have an appointment system if you don’t honored the people who follows the rules Your appointment system is useless. More
The City Toyota Service Center for payments is the absolute worse customer service. You have to look for your Service Advisor to finish up paper work. Very inefficient way of making payments. Offer absolute worse customer service. You have to look for your Service Advisor to finish up paper work. Very inefficient way of making payments. Offers on-line payment but you still have to sign for what you paid for online. Also, the 3rd time I've been here that it takes more than 10 minutes to retrieve vehicle. I had to go to front desk twice to ask where my vehicle is. I went to Palo Alto Toyota Service Center and payment was seamless, and car was ready as indicated on text. I'd try giving this place a chance but customer service is horrible here. More
I wonder how many trusting customers are paying double the reasonable dealership service prices for repairs at City Toyota of Daly City? This is my experience navigating the hybrid battery replacement the reasonable dealership service prices for repairs at City Toyota of Daly City? This is my experience navigating the hybrid battery replacement process with City Toyota of Daly City, the Toyota dealer from which I originally purchased the vehicle when it was new. In summary, City Toyota of Daly City tried to extort me by overcharging for parts and labor, lying to me when I questioned the charges, and then failing to allow me to speak with the service manager about their attempts to overcharge. In the end, I had to argue my way from the original quote of nearly $5700 (including $235 diagnostic fee) to the final total I paid of $2817.18. A loyal customer should not need to argue their way out of paying double the reasonable amount for a repair. In the end, I paid a reasonable (not inexpensive) amount for the repair. In the process the City Toyota dealership destroyed my trust in them. More

Disappointing Service and Lack of Battery Repair Solutions at City Toyota I recently had an unfortunate experience with City Toyota in Daly City when I took my out-of-warranty Toyota RAV4 EV for Solutions at City Toyota I recently had an unfortunate experience with City Toyota in Daly City when I took my out-of-warranty Toyota RAV4 EV for diagnostics. My RAV4 EV is a fully electric vehicle developed by Toyota in collaboration with Tesla, featuring a Tesla motor and traction battery. About a month ago, I received a warning message prompting me to take my vehicle to a Toyota dealership. I chose City Toyota due to its proximity. Upon arrival, I left my car in their care. However, some strange things began to happen. Firstly, the diagnostic cost increased from $220 to $675. More concerning, my previously drivable car became undrivable. Two weeks later, I was informed that the battery was dead and required replacement at a staggering cost of $18,000. There were no alternative solutions offered, and I was left wondering if things were really that dire. I decided to do some research and found a garage that identified the issue, which could be fixed with a $175 part and labor costs. After paying $675 to Toyota for diagnostics, I couldn't help but wonder why they would take my car in if they couldn't offer a real repair solution. Were they only providing diagnostics without repair services? Though I don't blame the staff, I do believe that Toyota should have done more to provide clients with feasible solutions for battery repair. I would have expected them to collaborate with Tesla or direct customers to third-party repair shops specializing in electric vehicles. Seeing brand new electric vehicles in City Toyota's showroom makes me question their commitment to customers. Can I trust Toyota to repair my car when it's out of warranty? Are they selling ticking time bombs with batteries that become unusable after the warranty expires? Battery repair should be part of their service offering, just like transmission or motor repair. This experience has left me disappointed and questioning Toyota's dedication to its electric vehicle customers. More

I went inside to the service advisor Winston Lam and said it won’t be fixed till Monday 4-17 and and he said it’s due to potholes and whatever. I told him my 2023 Toyota Camry w just 4500 miles on it just got its first service last Friday 4/7/23 as we are due for a long trip today. No one checked the tires it has a big bubble on the rear right tire it sat in the driveway after we drove out from their service dept till we washed it this morning and noticed the big bubble. The service advisor says we have to pay at least $350 and won’t be serviced till monday. We have a planned trip today to Lake Tahoe and cancelled our trip and reservations as it’s my wife’s bday celebration and practically ruined our weekend. We bought 2 Toyota vehicles from Dominic in Sales in this dealership the last 10 months and he provided us elite and awesome skills to get us back to him but they cannot have a service department w ineffective and unprofessional service people. I instead went by to Wheelworks bought a tire replacement for just $199.95 different Bridgestone tire as they said they no longer carry the Toyota Camry’s particular Bridgestone Utopia tire meaning it’s discontinued or are defective. Why is Toyota providing tires that are of inferior quality? And this dealership won’t have the time to replace or recall these tires. Very very disappointed on this. Thinking about moving to another dealership in the South Bay for better services and warranty. More
I have been waiting today 3/23/23 for 4 hours to get an oil change. This is not ok. I’m curious why it takes 4 hours for an oil change. City Toyota is either doing this intentionally bc of my past exper oil change. This is not ok. I’m curious why it takes 4 hours for an oil change. City Toyota is either doing this intentionally bc of my past experiences with them or they need to make changes to their policies. This none-sense should never happen. The fact that City Toyota doesn’t care making me wait 4 hrs should concern all customers. What a terrible experience. More

I took my car yesterday a routine check and for my trunk damage which resulted in back windshield broken. All the technicians can’t do anything until I pay $950 first for them to fix and according to them it wasn’t the trunk that made the windshield broke but it someone who tried to broke into the trunk.
