I visited Baker Dealer looking for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland v6. First of all the Internet Sales manager and the sales person Rob were very professional and freindly. However, the man "behind the covered door" in an office that I never saw or who never came out to negotiate price face to face with me did not come up with good numbers to make a deal. What ended up happening is that the sales person had to keep going back to the invisable deal maker (man behind door) for payment/pricing numbers which at one point was for a wrong vehicle on the lot not related to the 2014 v6 Overland that I came in for. Anyway to make a long story short, I was giving a price/monthly payments way above what I was looking to spend and also asked to put down more money for the Overland v6. I ended up going to Seaview Jeep in Ocean Township who was able to get me into a 2014 Overland v8 with same minimum downpayment that I had to do a deal at Baker Jeep, and also received from Seaview lower monthly payments than what I was quoted at Baker (only gave price on v6) on the more equiped and expensive v8 HEMI. Another disappointed thing was that I had an existing lease with 4 months payments left on it and I was surprised that Baker Jeep did not do a physical appraisal and even look at my buyout options with existing lender. The only option they had for me was to carry my remaining payments in the trunck of the new Jeep payments which I know is not a good thing to do. Seaview Jeep was impressive in that their used car manager went out and completed an appraisal, and even test drove my used vehicle. They end up covering the dealer buyout/trade payoff on my existing loan and still gave me a deal with lower payments and less money out of pocket. I am still shocked that Baker the deal maker could not get the deal done. AnywayI am happy that I shopped somewhere else. I recommend that new buyers shop and compare prices with this dealer before buying to make sure you are getting a good deal. More
I appreciated being able to obtain some information and do some negotiating via email before coming into the dealership so that I had an idea if we were even in the same ballpark. Of course, qualifying for the $2500 rebate helped to get me to a price where I was comfortable. The thing that annoyed me somewhat is that I made a 5:00 p.m. appointment with Tony, so I should have been expected. When I walked in, there was no one around to greet me, ask if I needed help, etc. Finally, after walking around for about 10 minutes, I went to one of the offices to ask for Tony and was told he was with a customer. Nick did know who I was and he took care of me for the rest of the appointment. Seems funny that Tony was nowhere to be found at our appointment time. And if I hadn't gone to the office, no one would have noticed I was there. I do appreciate other salesmen may have been with customers. Nick was very pleasant to work with. More
I called Baker to let them know that I was interested in purchasing a used car that they had on the lot. From start to finish the process was very easy going and I never felt like I was being "sold" which b purchasing a used car that they had on the lot. I can honestly say that every employee that I encountered at Baker was exceptional. I dealt primarily with Marcus and was very pleased to the point where I have already contacted him about possibly purchasing a second vehicle. More
Purchased a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited at this dealership. Sales experience was barely average. Typical oldschool baloney haggling about the trade on a mint condition 2010 BMW X5. Followed by a very distasteful experience with the "Financing" manager, who insisted on the hardsell on a bunch of aftermarket and warranty stuff I had no interest in. And on top of that, the guy tried to get me to sign up for a financing deal at a higher rate and longer term than the specific financing package I told them I wanted weeks before. I found your facility to be very clean & orderly and your staff to be kind as well as friendly and very knowlegable. Your dealership made my girlfriend & I feel welcome as well as comfortable. I am currently working on rebuilding a 2000 Dakota & will be using you folks for all of my Mopar parts needs.If and when I am able to purchase a new Chrysler product I will most certianly visit you folks for that as well. Your staff was kind enough to offer me any and all assistince posiable with my current project. I was looking for a specific jeep, I went to other dealerships who's sales reps just made it tough, stressful and tried selling me a jeep I was not interested in. Although it was far for me I decided I'd take a shot. When I arrived rob greated me at the door. I told him what I was interested in and he quickly pulled it up to do a test drive. To make a long story short I ended up buying the jeep that night cause how easy and relaxing it was to deal with rob and nick. The dealership made me feel more at home than a business pushing for a sale. They did everything in there power to really make me happy. And they sucsseded. I wish I lived closer so I could have my jeep serviced there regularly. More
