I came to Grossinger Chevy on Dec 10, 2009 one of the coldest nights in IL. I met with Tom Rekosh and Leonard Buie who was my salesperson. Buie made sure he provided me with the choices available to make coldest nights in IL. I met with Tom Rekosh and Leonard Buie who was my salesperson. Buie made sure he provided me with the choices available to make the final decision on the car I want to purchase to rebuild my credit. Tom also made me aware every hour about my status that I am approved. Both gentlemen service was very nice and polite the entire experience I had with Grossinger Chevy and I didn't feel pressure at all into purchasing a car I didn't want. I do believe the both of them deserve a raise ;-) More

The car was delivered on time at the advertised price without any sales trouble. All of the service has been performed in their service department without any problems. I brought the car in on December 9th,2009 for a before it goes out of warranty checkup. A few minor problems were found and cheerfully repaired while I waited. The service manager, Brian Poteracki, was professional and prompt. I purchase all of my new Chevys and parts from this dealership and have sent quite a few friends there for purchase of new and used vehicles hearing nothing but good back from them. Gary Grossinger has always been accessible when I have been in the dealership. Keep up the good work! More
I went to Grossinger Chevy tonight to purchase a car. I came with my wife and open checkbook. We had called ahead and the Traverse we wished to to test drive was waiting for us. We loved it. We sat down came with my wife and open checkbook. We had called ahead and the Traverse we wished to to test drive was waiting for us. We loved it. We sat down at Kevins desk and started to go over the pricing which when presented to us, was $2,000 higher then we had seen online which was what had brought us into grossinger initially. Knowing something was amiss, I contacted castle chevy which I had been working with as well to get a competitive quote. To make a long story short, the guy at castle confirmed my suspicion that grossinger advertised a lower price to get you in the door and then tried to bait and switch you once there. I still wanted to buy that car, so I told Yedi that I needed a reason to buy today. I told him that there had to be some sort of elegant negotiable, something with a perceived value to the customer that cost the dealer very little. He refused to budge. He basically gave me a take it or leave scenario and let me know that it was his interest, and not the interest of grossinger chevrolet that he had in mind. He made it impossible to buy from grossinger. I'm in sales and I work in an industry very similar in that i'm held to a monthly quota and everybody feels there is a better deal somewhere else whether it's related to service or price. The last thing I would ever do, however is separate myself from the brand name. What Yedi did, was make it that I was buying from him and not grossinger and not chevy. At the end of the day, people buy from people they like. Yedi made it impossible to buy from Grossinger making the transaction all about him. At one point he told me, you could write a letter to mr grossinger, i don't care, I will still have a job tomorrow and I will still be in charge of this dealership. It was the worst salesmanship I have ever seen. He made it impossible to buy. He chose to argue instead of ask questions. He chose to put the fact that the website advertises a price lower then what I can purchase the car for as "my misinterpretation" and he reference it several times. Between my wife and I, we have several advanced degrees and are smart enough to see that their website advertises the cars for about $2,000 less then everybody else. It was like that commercial for the bank with the kid and the pony. Complete bait and switch. Regardless, rather then asking questions, Yedi tried to bull doze his way through. Rather then asking a simple, "what do we have to do to move past this?" Yedi tried to impress upon my wife and I that we were the ones that were simply misinterpreting the web site after Kevin had told us that he had had 3 other people just today saying the same thing.... Grossinger Chevrolet has a 24 month rating of 1.7 out of 5 on this site and I can see why. The reviews all indicate the same the thing that I was told by Yedi. "If you're not going to buy the car, someone else will." we don't care. It's amazing, with GM losing it's CEO last week and uncertainty surrounding the viability of the company, that I have to deal with a guy like Yedi who flat out did not want to make a sale. He is just not that smart of a human being. I told him that he needed to make some sort of concession for getting me down there on a false price and it didn't need to be on the price of the vehicle and could be an extra year of Onstar or a full year of XM and he said, "Mr Grossinger gives me the flexibility to make those kind of deals but I'm just not going to do it." Seriously? More
I live near St. Louis Mo which is over 300 miles and 5 hours away from the Chicago area. However, I saw a price on AutoTrader.com for a used blue 09 chevy malibu that was located at this dealership. Bec hours away from the Chicago area. However, I saw a price on AutoTrader.com for a used blue 09 chevy malibu that was located at this dealership. Because the prices of malibus seemed to be a couple grand cheaper in the Chicago area, I decided to go up there and buy the car I wanted. The week previous to me going up to Chicago to buy a malibu, I spoke to a Tom Rekosh at Grossinger chevy in Palatine on the phone 3-4 times, each time asking him the same questions about the car. I asked him if the car was damaged, if it had a clean car fax and if it was indeed an LT and not an LS. Each time I was assured the car had absolutely NO damage, clean carfax and it was definitely an LT. I wanted to check everything out thoroughly before I made this trip all the way up there and was worried it wasn't what they were saying, but my step dad reassured me it would be fine b/c he's had great experiences with AutoTrader. I left the St. Louis area on friday and drove the 3 hrs to my parents place. We leave at 7 am on a Saturday morning to get there at 9am (my parents place is only 2 hrs away). I saw the car and was originally excited b/c the driver's side looked prestine and the interior classy but then as the salesman was getting me the keys for a test drive, my step dad walked around to the passenger side and observed extensive damage. It looked as if the car was driven along a cement post from the front to back. The rear end was all smashed in, the car looked warped with dents, and all the panels on the passenger side were severely scratched. Mind you, i looked at the pictures online and no damage was apparent and I was lied to on the phone several times even though I told Tom Rekosh I was coming all the way from St. Louis. Also, when we asked Tom Rekosh and our current salesman about the damage they seriously sat there and told us they "didn't know" the car was damaged! Needless to say, my family and I left without purchasing a car from the Palatine dealership. Tom Rekosh is an absolute liar and a cheat! I had money in hand to buy this car. My family and I were steaming after dealing with Grossinger chevy in Palatine. Quite the experience for going out and buying my first car. If anyone sees a used blue 09 chevy malibu LT online for this dealership, don't worry i've already got your back. Don't waste the time, trip, or money. This place sucks. More
Today 12/2/09 I contacted a person at Grossinger who said he was the used car manager "Tom". The reason I called was after after doing a search for a vehicle online I found a car that interested me and wa he was the used car manager "Tom". The reason I called was after after doing a search for a vehicle online I found a car that interested me and was in my target price range. I called to confirm the vehicle was still in stock. "Tom" stated yes it was still there I advised I would be in to take a look at it. Well three hours later I arrived at the dealer 6:30 PM. I did a drive through the lot and didn't see the vehicle. I entered the dealer walked to the sales counter and informed them I was here to see Tom regarding a vehicle and inquired the staff if the vehicle was there. Again they said it was. I was also informed that Tom was busy and I was then handed off to another sales person. After the hand off the staff at the counter instucted the sales person to show me the car and other in that same price range. I was then led out to the used car lot and during the walk the sales person says I think that car is sold but we have these other vehicles in that price range. I told him the whole reason I drove to his dealership was for a certain vehicle and not to be swithced into a different car. we have all purchased vehicles before and lets be realistic when was the last time anybody walked into a dealership and had drove away in a vehicle in less than 3 hours. I left the dealership returned home and contacted "Tom" regarding their poor and improper sales tactic just to get me in the door to sell me something else. "Tom" was rude and said well we sold the car and "were in the business of selling cars not storing them" he continued and said "100 percent of our customers are looking for a price and not a certain vehicle". I told Tom I was one and didn't believe that was the case and disconnected the call. so remember the old saying "Buyer Beware" and be aware of Grossinger Cheverolet underhanded sales tactics. More
I went into this dealership to purchase a 2010 Chevy MAlibu with cash in hand for my 26 year old daughter. The salesman was some young punk that was 1 of the rudest salesman I have ever seen. We picked MAlibu with cash in hand for my 26 year old daughter. The salesman was some young punk that was 1 of the rudest salesman I have ever seen. We picked out two vehicles and asked to test drive both. First off this salesman "never" acknowledged my daughter and refused to allow us to test drive the vehicle unless we told him how much money we were going to put down and if we had a trade. Then the idiot says to my daughter "you have a co-signer right"? I was furious as this salesman didnt even know my daughters name, never ran her credit report ( which she has a score of 833)and demanded to know what we wanted the monthly payment at. I immediately got up and yelled at this salesman to where others could hear me and said "what is wrong with you" and stormed out....Needless to say I had 4 managers and the owner come running out begging me to stay and they would get another salesman for me. This dealership is the worst...hopefully in the very near future GM will shut these clowns down. I have had the opportunity to tell 100's of people this story and have even called Chuck Gaudy at abc7 chicago about this dealership. More

I was scammed by the General Manager Jody Adams. I was being charged a $2000 destination and delivery fee on a uded car that I was told was traded in at that store!! Why? How do you have that kind of char being charged a $2000 destination and delivery fee on a uded car that I was told was traded in at that store!! Why? How do you have that kind of charge for a trade in? I was the told that the ad price was meant to bring me into the dealer ship and this charge is a common practice at this store. he then smirked and me and said, "the ad worked didn't it?" What a smart-xxx. I left and recommend that no one ever fall for these sam tactics at Grossinger Chevrolet !! More
This company has no ideea about treating respectfully a customer. The sales person who tried to sell a car was rude, did false statements, has promised a price right at the beginning (8,000) and at the en customer. The sales person who tried to sell a car was rude, did false statements, has promised a price right at the beginning (8,000) and at the end (after 3 hoursof waiting) the price was 13,000. I asked for a glass of water or a coffee and he told me (without looking at me) to go and serve myself. He was impertinent and did't even for a second looked in my eyes. Would you trust a person who talk with you looking out at the window and eating seeds and candies? I am not gonna go there again. I simply don't trust this company anymore. More
