My experience I have gave 1 star because I left my last service not satisfied. I was told about having a service done that I agreed to and it was never completed. I used a coupon for services to be done for a good price, which turned out to be a total of 3x the coupon price. Communication with the representatives on car care and other info. was awkward. I felt they could have briefed me better on everything going on from the service till the payment. I was also trying to stress how I felt to the representative, but it just went over her head. I am disappointed because this is my 2nd service in a row that customer service was bad. I feel there is no reason someone should settle for okay customer service. Customer service needs to be spectacular every time. This was just my experience. I can also say while sitting in the Lobby another lady was also having a communication issue. She found out her car would take 3 hours longer. People have goals when they come to the dealership for any reason. Its up to the dealership to pay specific attention to the small portion of needs customers need to keep the Loyalty. More

Damages done to personal property during maintenance visit An update on the service I received today - Friday, 6 FEB 15 at Checkered Flag Toyota: I dropped my car today for a 30,000 mile maintenance on my 2 An update on the service I received today - Friday, 6 FEB 15 at Checkered Flag Toyota: I dropped my car today for a 30,000 mile maintenance on my 2011 Toyota RAV4. Upon picking up my car in the evening, I discovered the following: 1) I was promised that they would do a Virginia State Inspection since mine currently expires this month in February. Upon picking the vehicle up at closing, inspection was never performed. The Service Consultant apologized and had now answer as to why it was not done. I do appreciate his efforts of offering to do the state inspection for free. I now have to schedule additional time in my tight schedule to come back a second time to have this redone. 2) My college graduation tassle that I use as a decoration in my vehicle (it hangs off the rearview mirror) was completely ripped of it's cord. Mind you that this graduation tassle was a gift when I graduated from college back in 2003 and cannot be replaced. Furthermore, the cord was completely ripped off from the main body of the tassle so I can't even create/tie together a new make-shift cord to allow it to hang from the rear view mirror. 3) I have an electronic gate opener used attached to the windshield of my vehicle via suction cup. The electronic gate opener is used to open up gates of my apartment complex so that my vehicle may enter upon arriving home. Guess what, that device is now gone. So not only do I have trouble getting through my apartment gates upon arriving home, but it is a $30.00 service fee from my apartment complex to get it replaced. I can deal somewhat with the inconvenience finding time in my work schedule t return a second day to have my Virginia State Inspection finally initiated as originally promised, but it's difficult to wrap my head around that a valuable, irreplaceable college graduation gift item in my vehicle was destroyed. In addition, the electronic garage door opener will now have to replaced via money out of my own pocket. Since when did it become part of a 30,000 maintenance to damage/destroy items within a customer's vehicle? More

When I went for my first 5,000-mile maintenance for my new car that I just bought in August, I was greeted by nothing but prompt, courteous, helpful, and friendly service. I had a mysterious noise that I also needed checked out and went on a short 5-minute ride with a nice mechanic to try to recreate it. Unfortunately, it never resurfaced, so we never could diagnose it. In addition to that, I didn't have a pin stripe detail on the passenger side of the door and asked them how much it would cost for it to be applied to the car. I assumed that it got washed out with the last professional car wash that was done. Come to find out from the guy that applies the pin stripes, that it was never applied to the door which was strange. They did it for free, on top of the 5,000-mile service, noise diagnostic, and complimentary car wash! Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone for setting up service at any time. It's got a friendly and helpful staff, atmosphere, and a comfortable waiting area. This is a 360-degree turn from the attitude at the sales department (which needs its own review for another time). If it weren't for the amicable service staff, my overall review for Checkered Flag Toyota would've been a complete thumbs down. I highly commend the service staff for all of their help and friendly demeanor, besides good work. I look forward to the next service appointment in the near future. More

Outstanding Service by Service Mechanic Brent Marsh I plan on recommending others to Checkered Flag Toyota after the service I received today. I came in to get my tires rotated, and to have my engine u I plan on recommending others to Checkered Flag Toyota after the service I received today. I came in to get my tires rotated, and to have my engine under cover splash guard repaired since it was beginning to hang/droop from the car body. It was just minutes to closing time at 6 PM. They're auto technician/mechanic Brent Marsh still took my car in at closing time. In mere minutes my car engine under cover splash guard was completely fixed with new screws. Mr. Brent Marsh could've easily turned me away and pack up shop but he chose to take care of my needs as a customer. Because of the efforts of Mr. Brent Marsh, I plan on returning to Checkered Flag Toyota for my 20,000 mile maintenance. More
I took my car in to get damages repaired due to a minor car accident caused by debris on the highway. I was already a bit upset that I had to dish out $500 for my deductible over an accident that was unavo car accident caused by debris on the highway. My first impression of checkered flag was positive, but that quickly changed once they stopped talking and starting acting. Not too much had to be repaired, just a few parts needed to be ordered. I did need an adjustor to come out, so I expected my car to be in the shop for at most 2 weeks. Man, was I wrong. My car sat in their shop for 4 weeks and I was told that my insurance had not paid them. Not once did checkered flag call me to update me on the status of my car, nor tell me that the payment was an issue. I called my insurance agent and they told me Checkered Flag was not submitting the proper paperwork and that the payment could not be issued until they did. You would expect a body shop, who does repairs 24/7, to communicate effectively with the insurance companies. Apparently not. I was not pleased with having to constantly question the body shop as to why my car is still not ready, especially with my rental car deductible being met while my car sat in the shop ready to go. I was even more bothered by the fact that I was told my car was ready but I couldn't get it unless I wanted to pay what my insurance owed them...all while my insurance agent could not get anyone from the body shop to call him back. This was a constant issue with this place as well. When I was finally able to get my car, I had to sit for almost a hour in the waiting room. That is completely unacceptable. Nobody should have to wait that long to PICK UP their vehicle. The manager eventually came to get me to go over the repairs of my car. A nice gesture, but the guy was absolutely clueless on the repairs done and while looking over my car there were noticeable grease marks all over the hood. My first reaction, "What else did you guys miss?" That then became the other issue with this place of business. I get my car home and a few days later, when I finally drove my car at night, I quickly noticed that my gear shift lights were out. At this point I was screwed bc I already paid my deductible and signed off on my car (it was picked up during the day). I called the manager immediately to see if they would take a look at the problem. I gave it 24hrs and he never called me back (poor customer service!). At this point I got my insurance agent involved. Still didn't hear back from the body shop. I called AGAIN and told the receptionist to have this manger to call me. I finally then got a call and they agreed to look at my car. I told the body shop that I want an appointment to avoid a long wait and I was told I wouldn't have to wait long. At first you would think, oh how nice. Not at all. Took my car back in where I sat for over 1 hour just to hear Terry (the estimater at checkered flag who handled my case) tell me that it will cost $700 to get to the light bulb and replace it. He tried to convince my that the year of my car had the light bulb in a super hard place to get to and that it would be hours of work getting to the bulb. He said that the years before and after my car model were easy, but mine was for some reason harder. I may be a female who knows nothing about cars, but I saw this scam a mile away. You have got to be kidding me?! My insurance agent even knew this was a scam. I ended up having my significant other replace the light bulb in my console, took him 10 minutes and $5 for 2 light bulbs. I am now dealing with a strange noise coming from my car, which makes me nervous about the work on my car. They also didn't even reset my "Maintenance Required" light after the supposed oil change performed. This light has always been reset when I get oil changed, and seeing them not reset it on top of everything else experienced here makes me believe this body shop lacks high quality service. Please avoid this body shop!! You will waste precious time sitting in their lobby where the tv is too loud and the estimaters are friendly to your face and make you feel safe when you aren't. Checkered Flag has reinstated my hatred towards dealerships. They will never get business from myself, my friends, and anyone my insurance agents talks with because he too does not think highly of this place. More
I took my 4Runner to Checkered Flag for spark plug replacement because engine misfired. They did not fix engine misfire. Instead they recommended over $700.00 worth of unneeded work. When work was done, the engine light that was never on came on. And to fix that they said I needed to pay additional $600 just to replace one fuel injector. Paid $700.00 for unneeded work. Now my car is not drivable. Avoid Checkered Flag Toyota at all cost. They are crooks!!! More
