While I did not purchase this 2004 Corolla from Checkered Flag, I have in the past. My service was over $700/632 with discount. Car had the same issue when I left. I had to have the car towed 2 blocks from the dealership. I do not think a car should be repaired if the dealer knows that the repairs will not resolve the problem. I feel that the service department was not honest in providing me the full details of the repairs completed or what they assesed needed to be done. I would not have paid over $600 to have the same problem. And when I called to use the "free" roadside assistance, I was told the tow would cost me $90. The service representative was not helpful when I called her back to let her know I was having the same issue. She implied it was my fault. I misspoke the costs of the repairs she quoted because I was so upset and I am sure she documented it to use if I filed a complaint. By the time I called to speake to the service manager they were closed. It was a holiday weekend and I have not called back. I do plan to contact my financial institution again to file a service complaint to obtain a refund. More
Jason Raynor was my sales person and he was great from start to finish. This complaint has nothing to do with him. I bought my previous car from him and he was wonderful then too. But the 3 men I mentioned above (Rich from Finance, Jim McNutt, and Ed Belisle) ruined my entire experience and I will NEVER do business with this dealership again. Rich (not sure of his last name but I believe he is one of the finance managers...big white guy, bald) is a complete liar. He lied to me just to sell me a warranty package that I did not even need. He told me if I decided to to take the package off then my monthly payment would go back to what it was before the cost of the package was applied (before I came to him it was $318 and after the package was applied it went up to $332). I told him I was not comfortable with the payment going up even more and that I was already pushing the limit by agreeing to the $318. I came back 2 days later and all of a sudden he doesnt know what I am talking about and according to Jim McNutt, Rich is such a great and honest guy that he would never do anything like that. Oh ok, so since I am just some customer off the steet then I am the liar!? Who says that? What kind of service is this? How would I even know to ask for what I was asking if Rich had not already told me that I could do it!!?? Ed Belisle and Jim McNutt just sat there in there stuffy business suits and talked in circles and pretty much told me that there is nothing they can do. What kind of business tells a customer who just bought their 3rd car from them that there is nothing thay can do??? All they did was give me Josh Hamilton's business card and they told me he will be back in town on Sept 10th and to call him with my concerns. I am not even going to bother to call him because if I already received the same disgusting quality of sevice from 3 other people who are in his chain of command then why should I even expect anything different from this Josh Hamilton guy. I was not trying to get out of any contract or get my money back or return anything. I just wanted to work out a different "deal" that I felt more comfortable with. When I came in on Sept 3 I was making emotional/hormonal decisions (I recently found out I am expecting my first child) and I made a decision that I felt put me in over my head. I think that considering the fact that this is my THIRD car purchase from this dealership that is the LEAST you could do. The fact of the matter is this: I don't want to have anyhthing else to do with this dealership. I am NEVER going to business with this dealership ever agiain. When my lease is up I am taking my car elsewhere, I most certainly will not bring the car back to Toyota Checkered Flag. I am also going to tell anyone and everyone I know not to do business with this dealership. Trust me, one complaint can travel very very far. I hope that saving $14 a month (the difference between my old and new payment) was worth it. More

Al was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable of the Toyota fleet, as well as their competitor's models. He encouraged comparison shopping, and was more than willing to work to find the model with all the particulars we required! His presentation is up front, no nonsense and he is willing to work with the business team to put you in the vehicle you want, at the pricepoint and payment plan you can afford. This is my second time in less than two years going to this dealership and I of course asked for Karen. My previous new vehicle was totaled in an accident and I knew right away that Karen was the one I w this dealership and I of course asked for Karen. I went to her even before I was ready to buy just to let her know I was in the market again. When I went to see her the day I bought my new car, I just told Karen what I was looking for and she listened. She suggested a couple of things and showed me a car that fit into what I was looking for. There was no pressure to buy she just said lets see what we can do for you and the rest is history. The finance department was swamped but they took time with me and I never felt like I was being rushed. I read everything I signed and no one said a word. I asked questions and they were answered with a smile. I tell all my friends and anyone I know looking for a new car about Karen. She is professional yet very layed back and doesnt try to push things on you that you do not want. She is like a family member or a good friend. Checkered Flag is lucky to have such an employee on thier team. More
