Charles River Saab has the best service department I have ever experienced. The staff really understand the cars and the customer side of things. This is a great car buying experience. Dave did not try to sell us, but let us check out the car, learn about the features and models. He listened and did not talk over us. He was not using sales techniques or acting over the top. He is a high integrity, plain speaking person. He has worked at the dealer 10 years and does not need to impress people - obviously knows the cars and their features. He helped us an answered questions when we had them. Paul was straight-forward and clear on the financing. We put a lot down, but needed some options for financing. He spelled out the options, how we would qualify and made several recommendations. Paul has worked in the car business for over 20 years and again is professional, thorough and just a pleasant man to work with. These guys made a great team! I picked up my new car and they introduced me to the service team, walked me through the car without a lot of fanfare and ceremony. I hate buying cars, but this was the best car buying experience I have had. More
I am on my second car purchase from Charles River SAAB and my third car serviced with them. I have been a customer since May 2000. There are lots of repair shops and dealers in the Boston area but I con and my third car serviced with them. I have been a customer since May 2000. The service department has always been great, I am sure that I can could find some independent mechanic but I have never had to bring any of my SAABs back for a second visit on something that was repaired. I'm driving my 5th SAAB over a 25 year span. On purchases, the last 2 cars have come from CRS and the transactions were very good: long pre-drives, ability for salesperson to negotiate without the purchases, the last 2 cars have come from CRS and the transactions were very good: long pre-drives, ability for salesperson to negotiate without the usual "I need to see my manager,..." tactic, and willingness to be very competitive. Since 2001 my experience has only been beyond the purchase. Let's face it - dealerships only replace with new parts and are comparitively expensive to a generic garage. But, CRS has offers superb service without doubts on quality of work; you're confident that they identify the issue correctly and the repair is done competently with proper parts. My current SAAB has been low maintenenace, so the overall cost factor isn't a big issue. The Service guys are friendly, honest and respect the cost factor. And Pierre's clinics are great! The free annual, hands-on, side-by-side with the mechanic car inspection is highly appreciated; the tire clinic is very informative and resulted in a purchase that beat the national chain price; the Defensive Driving Day is awesone and very practical (my wife and I have been to 3 and our kids will!). And, CRS really appreciates older, high mileage cars. But, should something in the showroom catch my eye CRS' has never hesitated to offer a test drive that fits my schedule. I have been buying cars from CRS for 30 years, and get almost all of my service there. They know me, they know my issues, they treat me like they want me to be a long-term customer. I bought my used Saab 9-3 from Charles River in 2004, and used them for regular service the whole time until I had to sell it last month. Negotiating the purchase was straightforward and reached a reasonable price quickly, service was always prompt, cheerful, and never over-charged, and CR Saab have many special activities (eg, driver training, learn with the mechanic sessions) that I thought were useful and definitely worth attending. Due to our immediate vehicle needs, we had to replace our Saab with another brand, but I definitely hope to replace our second car with a Saab from CR when the time comes. More

In my 45 years of driving and, earlier, owning a half dozen different makes of cars, I have never had better service or attention than at Charles River Saab. They take care of everything I ask and make sure they get it right. Moreover, they foresee problems and make my options for immediate or deferred repair clear. That is probably why my first four Saabs all got over 200,000 miles and my fifth is on its way with 130,000. In my experience, (and compared to what my friends tell me they put up with) they are the best. Highest marks. More
In my experience with several Saab dealers and Saab mechanics, Charles River Saab is hands down, as good as it gets. I have two Saabs, (an older model and a newer one) and the staff here take fantastic mechanics, Charles River Saab is hands down, as good as it gets. I have two Saabs, (an older model and a newer one) and the staff here take fantastic care of both cars. The folks here are truly passionate about Saabs (ask any of the mechanics what they drive sometime) and their knowledge about the cars isn't just limited to the newer models. They take the time to talk to you about your car and any issues it might be having and really go into detail on the impact any particular part has on the car as a whole- right down to knowing the small differences in the car from model year to year. Beyond that, I've never seen other Saab mechanics who have this much experience owning/working on Saabs themselves, and that's part of the value they provide and it's definitely worth it! Both my cars are well taken care of here and the staff go above and beyond to ensure that the cars are running well now and will be running well years down the road. More
If you own or want to own a Saab, Charles River Saab is the best dealer in the USA! Nice people, that love Saabs and they have the parts and knowledge to make your life simple. Free WiFi, coffee, etc. My in-laws come down from NH to use this dealership. Check out the driving school and the weekend education sessions they put on too! As someone once said to me, other Saab dealers should have to come to Charles River for training. More
I have been a customer for almost 20 years. I have bought 7 Saabs from them and have dealt with both the sales and service sides of the dealership during that period.
