I completed a financing application online, then had to complete it at the dealership also. I knew exactly what I wanted (except color) and explained over the phone about 4.5 hours before arriving. I was told that several vehicles would be ready for test drive when I arrived. When I arrived, there were not only no test vehicles but not one vehicle on the lot for the lease that I told them I wanted and was advertised at the time I called. Then, the lease terms were apparently not understood by finance and it took at least three times to get it right. At one point, I told the finance person that if they were not going to give the lease terms described in the banner advertisment and agreed to by the salesman and a manager, then I would walk. My wife and I were there for 2.5 hours and finally left without a vehicle (we did have a lease contract). During that time, we were led to believe that the vehicle was being prepared and we would have it when we left. You should train your staff to under-promise and over-deliver, and not accept the opposite. We were familiar with Chapman having purchased cars in the past and having a great experience with Tony DiSalvo at Chapman BMW. What a let-down. I cannot imagine going to that dealership for any future purchase or lease. More
I went in to purchase a new Jetta TDI. I did my homework, I researched the car and the pricing for the car as equipped. I knew the exact options. They did a national search made some offers to other dealers but at the end of a week of trying they came and said this car is simply not available. They made me an offer on a car on the lot that I could not refuse. Great car! Great Price! and great rate! The ingredients necessary to get me to write about them. Great Job Guys! I would reccomend Chapman VW. These guys know how to get a deal done. More
Steve did not put any pressure on me to buy a car that was out of my range. He is not the typical pushy car salesman I am used to. His low-key approach was very refreshing. This buying experience was one of the worst purchasing experiences of an auto sale. The vehicle I purchased two or three days after a test drive alignment was incorrect, front brakes needed to be replaced experiences of an auto sale. The vehicle I purchased two or three days after a test drive alignment was incorrect, front brakes needed to be replaced (rotors and pads), and an oil leak coming from the drain plug, also my owners manual was missing which is part of the the "VW Certification." It took three trips for the alignment to be repaired correctly, one trip included with the 3 previously mentioned to fix the oil leak that was spotted by a 3rd party mechanic shop, and 2 trips for the pads and rotors to be replaced. The dealership also chose the wrong trade in option with VWoA and I was to pay ~800 for my excessive milage but the dealership paid them for their mistake. I asked to see how I could be reimbursed for the many inconveniences but they said they would look into it. My overall experience is for anyone reading this be very cautious of purchasing any used vehicle that is "certified" or not and don't let the dealership get one over on you. More
I took my Jetta in for its first one-year service -- they were prompt and courteous on the phone as well as in person. My car was serviced and washed.
