UPDATE Unfortunately, sometimes pleasant experiences turn into hard pills to swallow...after my initial review, my used vehicle started experiencing shaking during acceleration and rough idling the day after I took it home. I contacted the dealership and they replaced two coil packs free of charge. This was very gracious of them considering I purchased the vehicle "As-Is" and did not purchase an additional warranty. (Full Disclosure: Before purchasing, I was aware of the 'Service Engine Light' being on and a broken clip on the rear window. Before I bought the vehicle, the dealership fixed the rear window and cleared the service light, saying that they could not find a code.) However, the very next day after taking it back to the dealer, the vehicle started shaking during acceleration and idling roughly. As I have no warranty with the dealership, I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who found a bad coil pack and a bad #3 plug. During additional inspections, the mechanic also found that the ball joints were completely worn out and needed replaced. Not great news on a vehicle I purchased less than a week ago. To be clear: I knowingly and willingly purchased the used vehicle "as-is" and declined an additional warranty. I do not hold Champion Ford responsible in any way nor do I wish to accuse the dealer of any wrong-doing. As-Is means just that, "as-is." I do, though, wish to remind potential customers (of any dealership) of the risks associated with purchasing a used vehicle, especially "as-is," and encourage anyone considering a used vehicle to have it independently inspected so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you should purchase the vehicle. Looking back at my original review, I still think the customer service and friendliness of the staff at Champion Ford was fantastic, I just wish I had better luck in my own individual purchase and would like to serve as a reminder that purchasing a used vehicle should be an educated decision.
