Champion Chevrolet of Howell attempted a deceptive sales tactic (switch and bait) on my 21-year-old daughter, and I had to intervene. Larry suddenly claimed the proposed car was sold, and Chelsea previously tactic (switch and bait) on my 21-year-old daughter, and I had to intervene. Larry suddenly claimed the proposed car was sold, and Chelsea previously expressed displeasure when my daughter sought pre-approval at a credit union, insisting the dealership preferred she use their financing (in front of the financial banker). Upon realizing the manipulation, I politely tried to cancel our appointment with Larry, who became defensive and demanded an explanation. Despite his insistence on finding another car (for AROUND the same price), my daughter did not want to proceed. He replied by being defensive, insisted that I was wrong, and when he asked for a commitment to come in, I told that I appreciated his offer but, again, my daughter did not feel comfortable in moving forward with the dealership. He increased his aggressiveness and was very condescending, so I had no other choice but to hang up. Subsequently, we were bombarded with the turn over (T.O.) calls from his manager, David, who expressed concern about us having "negative feelings" regarding our experience to this point, while insisting that it was all a misunderstanding. (I highly doubt that it was a miscommunication, but let's give the dealership the benefit of the doubt. At best, it was a miscommunication and, with 18 negative Google reviews over the last month alone, the dealership should hire a crisis PR team to train all employees on how to effectively communicate with potential customers. At worst, the dealership unsuccessfully tried a deceptive switch and bait sales tactic. Please note that I still have the voice and text messages to confirm such interactions. In any event, not a good look for the dealership's brand.) After requesting removal from their call list, both my daughter and I went with another dealer and purchased cars. This resulted in Champion Chevrolet losing two sales this past weekend. More

My family has been loyal customers of Champion Chevrolet for over 30 years. We have always been very satified with the dealership. We not only purchase our cars at Champiln but we use the service departme for over 30 years. We have always been very satified with the dealership. We not only purchase our cars at Champiln but we use the service department for all our car maintenance. It is a comfortable place for us in that many of the employees know us. When I wanted to buy they raised the price by $1000 and had $2500 worth of paper work fees on a cash transaction. Then they were very unpleasant to deal with.
