Chalmers Ford

I arrived at Don Chalmers around 5:00 PM on 2-13-13 to test drive and possibly buy a Ford Focus ST. I was greeted by a nice secretary who brought out a sales person Mark W. I asked if he had any Ford Focu test drive and possibly buy a Ford Focus ST. I was greeted by a nice secretary who brought out a sales person Mark W. I asked if he had any Ford Focus ST's in stock and Mark showed me one on the show room floor that was blue with black leather. This was what I was looking for and I asked Mark if I could go for a test drive. Mark said it would be no problem and left to get the keys for the vehicle. When Mark returned, he did not have the keys and said, "I could not go on a test drive because of insurance reasons". I asked what that meant and he said, "it was a high performance machine". I then told him it was a Ford Focus and it was listed for $29,798. You have Ford trucks that cost more than this. I then told Mark that I was going to go to another dealership that lets me test drive cars and I would buy one from them. Mark stated, "ok". I asked Mark do you have a sales manager I could talk to? He brought out a sales manager that just stated the same thing as Mark but he added that this car was a high performance machine and they don't let people drive it. The sales people at this dealership are lacking knowledge and customer service. I could understand not being able to test drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but this was a Ford Focus ST listed under 30K. What is going on with Don Chalmers customer service and test driving cars? This was the absolute best car buying experience I have ever had. All of the staff was curteous and helpful. Patrick was great. He made us feel like we were his top priority. Amy was very pleasant and nice when we walked in the door. Asked what we were looking for and proceeded to show us the vehicles. We had been talking with the Albuquerque Ford Dealership online but we decided to stop at Rio Rancho first because we heard from word of mouth that it was a good dealership. The prompt next day service we received at Don Chambers Ford by Mike Zeyen and the weekend team was incredible! Not only was Mike able to immediately locate the issue with the fan housing being broken he was able to secure the part and fix the problem the same day allowing us to leave on time for our trip. Outstanding service was exemplified by Don Chambers Ford and Mike Zeyen, he fully understood our needs and met them above and beyond what we could have asked for to ensured that we were able to leave as scheduled. The service team as a whole at Don Chambers Ford and Mike Zeyen are a rare breed and our family is very grateful to them for their prompt and personal attention they gave us, our trip to Minnesota was wonderful and carefree without a worry about our Fusion's performance or our comfort. My experience using the Quick Lane at Don Chalmers for was excellent because my Service Tech, John, was very thorough with explaining the maintenance performed on my Ford Escape.
