Wasted service trip My wife made a service appointment for our Mini Cooper convertible earlier this week, telling them what we needed done. She drove it to the dealership My wife made a service appointment for our Mini Cooper convertible earlier this week, telling them what we needed done. She drove it to the dealership today the hour and a half from Lake Lure, and arrived at Century Mini on time. She was told they had no record of her appointment. All we needed was a new trunk latch and some rubber molding under the windshield, but she was told they would try and fit her in sometime in the afternoon and it would be another hour if they could even determine if they had the parts. In desperation she turned around and drove. home. Great service! More

another satisfactory visit to the service department I (almost) always bring my Mini to the dealer (SC has two, both good). My 2005 R53 has almost 190K on it now. This time I arranged to go into the back for a few minutes and talk and point with the guy who is doing the service while my Mini was up on the rack. A couple of times I brought my Mini to a nearby place that works on lots of upscale foreign cars and the work had to be redone later. When you go to a good Mini service department, look back there and see a room full of people who don't do anything but work on Minis all day long - that's what I think makes the difference.
