I am a snow-bird and before coming back to Illinois, I stopped in to Central Florida Toyota on South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando to get a quote for a lease on a Prius 2. After by-passing a lot of vulture-type sales men hovering around the front door by slipping in a side door, I finally talked to one to ask for a quote on what I assumed would be a simple, straight-forward answer. When he asked what color I wanted, I told him I was just stopping by to get an idea before I lease, or purchase, and that color shouldn't be a factor on price. He again stated that he had to see if he had one in stock. Again I told him I wasn't going to drive one away today anyway. He then stated: "so you're just jerking me around?" I told him that was very disrespectful and he said he would get a manager but not before he loudly asked me what my credit rating was. I was very embarrassed for him because he didn't know any better than to ask me that in a room full of people sitting at tables in a wide-open show room. I left immediately while he was on the way to get someone. I wouldn't give them any business if they were giving away cars. More
I recently purchased a 2010 Toyota Prius in Atlanta and since I live in Orlando I wanted to find a reputable and professional dealership to service my car locally. I called Central Florida Toyota service since I live in Orlando I wanted to find a reputable and professional dealership to service my car locally. I called Central Florida Toyota service department and was transferred to David and subsequently had a lengthy conversation with David, 32 minutes/46 seconds to be exact, about the servicing of my car. David asked for my car's VIN which I gave him and he looked up all previous service records on the car telling me that the car had regular oil put in it when the factory would have put synthetic oil in the car. I questioned this but he insisted based on the servicing records of the car by a Toyota dealer and quoted me $34.76 for an oil change. He said that I could not switch the car back to synthetic once regular oil had been used. I then asked him about the deal they had regarding the purchase of three tires/get one free and I told him I was interested in putting the Michelin Defenders on my car and did they have those. They did and he quoted me a price of $437.62 "out the door" and proceeded to go down the list of what this included. Based on the detailed information David gave me in our 32 minute conversation and my re-confirming every detail of that I had been told, I made an appointment on a Sunday, based on David's recommendation, at Central Florida Toyota. When I arrived, even though I had received several emails about my appointment, no one knew what I was there for. I was told I needed to see Sam who knew nothing about why I was there and told me there was no way anyone quoted my a price of $437.62 for those tires, when in fact I was quoted that price and then confirmed that quote. This was a stressful hour spent arguing over the fact this was why I had scheduled an appointment there and so on. No one cared. I went ahead with the oil change only which was done with synthetic oil when I was told there was no way synthetic oil could be put back into this car. Nothing anyone did was what I had been told. Sam said I would have to talk to the service manager, Mike Vorell,, in the morning. Great, over two hours of my time, gas, tolls, missing seeing my 19 year old daughter returning to college from spring break, a huge headache, complete frustration from having to argue over something that should have been an easy transaction for my first experience with Central Florida Toyota. I am sorry about the lengthy explanation but you should know who you are dealing with and what to expect. I just got off the phone with Mike who was "sorry", of course, but will do nothing to honor the price I was quoted, then re-quoted by David in a 32 minute phone conversation on Friday. This is not the level of professionalism I expected from Central Florida Toyota. I passed up a great price on those tires from another place, which has since expired, to purchase them from the dealer I thought I would be doing business with over the life of my car but I just can't justify spending my hard earned money, time and placing my trust in a dealership who treats their customers like this. This is the fourth new Toyota Camry we have purchased from Central Florida Toyota. We have always been pleased with their service and the Toyota cars. I bought a used car (specific model wanted). They withheld KNOWN needed repair information. When they brought me a form that said "used car, sold as is, you should expect to pay $1,000 in repairs i withheld KNOWN needed repair information. When they brought me a form that said "used car, sold as is, you should expect to pay $1,000 in repairs in the next month" I asked DOES THIS MEAN THAT THERE IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS REPAIRED for $1000? I was told no, it is only what I was told about. (about $700 total & half was minor cosmetic work). It also included an AC repair and the price quoted was $110. I asked is this for a diagnosis of the repair needed or the ACTUAL AC repair... I was told $700 will fix everything on that piece of paper. I took it to my mechanic directly from the dealership (learned on the way that the air did not work at all - it was a cool day when I test drove it... and the fan worked great). Within 30 minutes of leaving the repair shop I had a call telling me that the compressor was cracked and there was NO WAY that they could NOT HAVE KNOWN this... they weren't even looking at the AC and they saw it. I told VInnie, "what you did may not be illegal, but it is definitely unethical and I would never go back there or recommend them to anyone." The repairs are now at $1,360. and that is without repairing the "loose transmission" or the shocks and struts which I was told were not safety issues and could wait and definitely does not include the "cosmetic" issues included on their list. Buy a new car here at a great price but DEFINITELY SERVICE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE AS IF THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF THEIR MECHANICS EXPERTISE IT IS FAR BELOW PAR....and if looking for a used car know that it is BUYER BEWARE!!! For clarification: IF they had divulged this information, I may have still bought the car, I wanted this specific model... but I would have been allowed the opportunity to make an educated decision vs. being "SCAMMED". I had acqiored a new Toyota Avalon from this dealership in the past but I now know they have had a change of ownership and a change in management direction. More

The buying experience was as quick and straight forward as buying a pack a gum. I laid out my needs for buying a used vehicle, including my trade-in, required payment, etc. and the team at Central Florida as buying a pack a gum. I spoke to David over the phone and was disgusted with his manners and the way he completely disrespected me. I explains I had 5k to put down cash and that I wanted to finance the rest of a vehicle at $10 his manners and the way he completely disrespected me. He proceeded to tell me that's "not enough to buy a pair of shoes" and then when I said I couldn't afford his recconended amount of $150-175 p/m he disrespectfully laughed down the phone at me and then said "goodbye" and put the phone down. I'm disgusted and will be spending my money elsewhere. More
