I needed a new car to replace my dying station wagon, and had narrowed things down to either a 2012 Elantra Touring or a 2013 Elantra GT. Having driven myself crazy with online searching, I bit the bullet an had narrowed things down to either a 2012 Elantra Touring or a 2013 Elantra GT. Having driven myself crazy with online searching, I bit the bullet and visited the dealership to actually see the cars. The dealership is low pressure - they let you wander around, poking at things to your heart's content. I was unable to find the Touring on the sales floor, and so approached on one of the sales guys, Mike Elder, for help finding the thing. He was very relaxed, answering all of my questions and showing me where various buttons and levers were. Crawling all over the cars still wasn't enough to make up my mind, so I asked to take the two cars out for test drives. I still couldn't decide on the spot, having the wrong kind of personality to buy a car, and asked to come back the next day. The next day I pretty much repeated the process, driving both cars and asking even more questions. Once I settled on the GT I put a good-faith deposit on the car in preparation for getting my insurance binder and loan paperwork. The car being so new, I was unable to negotiate the price down, though their requested price was very close to the Edmunds TMV. Once I got my financing and insurance sorted out I returned to the dealership and picked up the car with no issues. Throughout the entire process I did not feel as though any employee of the dealership put any pressure on me. No one tried to sell me on extra equipment, service packages, or extended warranties. Mike Elder, in particular, was very patient with me. I recommend Mid Island Hyundai to anyone looking for a Hyundai, and even to those not looking for one. More

After working with him on purchasing a 2010 Santa Fe I was introduced to the Credit Manager Mike Doyle, an ordeal I had dreaded the most from past experiences. My fears were unfounded as Mike was great going over the details, etc. Overall, I have to say that this was the most unstressful buying experience I ever had and went home with such enthusiasm instead of continually thinking to myself that I could have done better or that they screwed me. Peter was very thorough during my entire visit at Mid Island Hyundai. He was very attentive to my needs and did not make me uncomfortable at any point like some salesman tend to do.
