We showed up with out an appointment and they were not phased at all. They told us to have a seat and they would be with us shortly. Within a half hour they took the car. I took my wife's Beetle in because the seat back would not come back up and the seat was not engaging with the track and thus was freewheeling back and forth in traffic. They wanted $189 to 'diagnose the not come back up and the seat was not engaging with the track and thus was freewheeling back and forth in traffic. They wanted $189 to 'diagnose the problem." Then they told me the parts they needed to fix it were not available anywhere in the continental U.S. So they would order for a deposit of $450 which I gave them on a credit card. I went home and called a friend who is an amateur mechanic. He came over to look at it and it took him less than 5 minutes to manipulate the latch loose and the seat engaging in the track. I could not believe my eyes! I went back to the dealer the next day to get my deposit back. That took me about 45 minutes because the service department had to consult with the parts department who had to phone somewhere and then consult again with the service people who finally told the cashier to give me a refund.
