The financing officer came on as friendly and relatable. My intent was to put $10,000 down on the car. $7,000 was applied to ad ons that I did not need or want. This was July 28, 2025. I have since had the car refinanced through my credit union. I was promised that at least two of the ad on were refundable. I called yesterday 10/21 and found out that one of the checks has sent to the finance company since October 3. They seem not to know much about what is going on. The very nice, understanding, people who were looking out for my best interest, has turned to uninterested, busy people who are hanging up on me. There is too much to get my point across as to how unprofessional these people are proving to be. An expensive lesson learned. Never trust anyone!!! More

I then called and spoke with the Internet Manager who assured me that he would sell me the car for that exact price + TT&L. Nothing more, nothing less. I asked him to send me a contract with the terms so that we could expedite the process. He sent me a proposal and the price was $5,000 +TT&L more than advertised. I called and spoke with his manager, who proceeded to tell me that he would not sell me the car for the price for which he had advertised on the internet. A very poor experience - deceptive, dishonest, and fraudulent advertising. More

My dad is a military vet and this is how this dealership did him. They sold them a car WAY over MSRP added maintenance, gap and platinum protection to the cost of the vehicle. This is highway robbery. They had my parents at the dealership ALL dam day. This is PREDATORY LENDING. I can go on and on. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. More
Buckle up I want to tell you a short story about cars and people. I love cars and really enjoy driving—fast or slow, windows down, sunroof open, music blasting, singing, and drumming on the steering wheel people. I love cars and really enjoy driving—fast or slow, windows down, sunroof open, music blasting, singing, and drumming on the steering wheel. I love it all, especially a nice, quiet drive in the hill country. It’s peaceful, and for someone who has a mind that is constantly spinning, it’s also therapeutic. My car becomes my sanctuary. Since the age of 16, I’ve probably bought and sold over 25 vehicles and a motorcycle. All were used vehicles, and many were paid for in cash. I’ve also had the pleasure of working in car sales twice in my life—once in 1992 at Frank Brown Pontiac in Lubbock, Texas, and the second time in 2018 at Lockhart Ford. You learn a lot in the auto industry. It’s a mixed bag of coworkers and customers, and it’s a people business just like real estate. Vehicles and homes are generally the two largest (and most stressful) purchases that come with a pile of debt. There are hundreds of options to choose from—make, model, color, and dealership. Just like in real estate, it’s important to find someone you trust. The auto industry has had a bad reputation FOREVER because people get taken advantage of by greedy, lying xxxxxxxx. Recommendations from family and friends can help immensely when looking for a vehicle. Recently, my wife and I were in a place where buying a brand-new car for the first time was an option. For months, we researched and found the make and model she really wanted. On the recommendation of a family member, we went to see Jennifer Guerrero at Cavender Nissan in San Marcos, Texas. Jennifer is great! We test-drove a 2025 Nissan Kicks. They didn’t have the color my wife wanted, so we reserved one that was in transit. We could have easily gone up to Austin or down to San Antonio and bought one that day from another dealership, but since Jennifer came highly recommended we decided to do business with Cavender Nissan. When we went to pick it up on a Saturday, we waited longer than originally anticipated in finance and needed to leave. This was no fault of Jennifer’s, it was a busy day and there was miscommunication from other people. Eventually the dealership sent us home with the vehicle and we finalized the paperwork on Monday. All’s well that ends well, I say! Overall, it was a smooth transaction and a great experience. As someone who also works in a referral-based industry I know how beneficial they are, which is why I can’t recommend Jennifer Guerrero enough if you are looking for a vehicle! There is a reason she is the best of the best, and Cavender Nissan is blessed to have her on their team. I’m really glad we chose to go see her for our first brand-new Nissan! Thank you, Jennifer! You might even be able to talk me out of my current sanctuary one day….but I really love my FJ. 🙂 More

That was not the case. First, the vehicle was not thoroughly inspected and serviced - that took the vehicle out of commission for 5 weeks post-sale as they navigated various needful repairs. Second - and most egregious - the finance manager I worked with to structure my loan and additional warranty policies misrepresented the final loan terms. I only found out AFTER I decided to cancel the extended warranty. I explicitly requested the warranty to be paid cash separate from the loan. That was my understanding upon signature and what I maintained as the structure of the deal until today when I inquired about the status of my refund (5 weeks post cancellation). I feel that the deal was misrepresented. I feel that I was mislead. I do not recommend you do business with this dealership as a result. More
I traded my 2020 kia for a 2024 Nissan Rogue everything went smooth I drove off the lot thinking everything was good till a week later I get a call from the dealer telling me I needed 3 months of bank stat went smooth I drove off the lot thinking everything was good till a week later I get a call from the dealer telling me I needed 3 months of bank statements and canceled check for money deposited into my account I took them what they wanted and it's w weeks I've had my rogue and I still haven't heard if I'm gonna keep the vehicle or not so I don't think that finance knows what they are doing so at this moment I don't know if I will have a vehicle or not and I'm more than sure they aren't going to give me my truck back I've never experienced a dealer like this at this point I am mad that I still haven't heard nothing back More
Okay gonna make this one short since Dealer Rater scammed me and did not post my review. The Sales Manager Joe Loza o is a liar and said he went to his desk and will print my KBB offer. I have that document me and did not post my review. The Sales Manager Joe Loza o is a liar and said he went to his desk and will print my KBB offer. I have that document he printed. What a bad liar. The document shows his name on it and NOT MINE! He also said KBB does not buy vehicles...another lie. Also said he put my Dealer add ons like for example my bed liner, step bar and 20' wheels. Document shows he lied again. Feel bad for the sales people as he tries to rip off people and then ruins the salespersons sales as they have to feed their families and that's hard to do with this liar backing them up. I have the Document with Joes name on it. Also I see lots of 1 star ratings here how does this Dealership get a 4 star. Go next door to the Dodge dealership as Anthony will give you $3000 more for your trade if not and you want a Nissan the bigger cities will work with you better( Austin) as they have more Of competition as I view Cavender Nissan as a Bait and Switch Dealership! If I could leave zero stars I would. My 83 year old mother came in to get a recall taken care of. Well of course Nissan whooped up a 4 page document of what she needed to do on her 2007 Nissan Xterra. Her vehicle is 17 years old in age only. It has 90,000 miles and is like new. Cavender service gave her a list of items totaling over $4000 in repairs. They also put duplicate line items stating the same service twice. So very sad. She does not need any of these items listed. These are the reasons most people can't stand dealerships because they are not honest, take advantage of people, especially elderly women. More
The Dealership and the Cavender auto group make a big deal on their various websites about supporting the military and giving military discounts, and "free oil changes for life". What a load of lies. W deal on their various websites about supporting the military and giving military discounts, and "free oil changes for life". What a load of lies. We were talked into having my husband join in on the application to take advantage of the military "discount".. Nope, didn't receive it. (My husband served for 33 years between both active and reserve duty) Come to find out, it is more "rebate" rather than "discount". Now a month later, still fighting them on the issue. No one in management will even get back to me. The so called "oil changes for life".. not so much.. 2 a year for 10 years.. not exactly "life". If you are a member of the military, or retired military please do not fall this scam. On top of that, the dealership didn't comply with the terms of the financing agreement in regards to the payoff. A month later, I am still waiting for a refund back for the funds they did not send to the lender. Extremely poor service and deceptive business practices. More
