What a great buying experience! I walked in late on a Wednesday night looking for a brochure as I was considering a new Equinox to replace my 2005 Saturn. I was immediately greeted by a salesman, Adam F Wednesday night looking for a brochure as I was considering a new Equinox to replace my 2005 Saturn. I was immediately greeted by a salesman, Adam Foster, who direcrted me to his office area to discuss my needs. I explained what I was looking for and what I wanted in a vehicle and that I narrowed my search to the Equinox, Hyundai Santa Fe, or Honda CRV. Adam gave me all the good points about the Equinox -gas milage, features, warranty info., etc. He asked me what features I was looking for and then did a quick search for something on the lot I might like. He even had one of the porters bring a vehicle he thought I'd like inside for me to see that night just for a quick look so when I looked at the other cars I had in mind I could compare them to the Equinox. There was never any pressure or pushing on the part of the salesman and I left the dealership that night with a good feeling about the Chevy. Adam followed up two days later just to check in with me at which time I made an appointment for the test drive. I tried (2) vehicles and Adam was very patient with me as I mulled which model I wanted. The purchaing process was friendly, informative, and very easy. Although the Sales Manger, Dion Fain, was very busy the night I came in, he addressed all my pricing questions and concerns efficiently and completely until I was comfortable with the final purchase price. The final paperwork was completed by the Business Manager, Derek Marquez, who finalized all the paperwork in a very frindly, fun, and efficeint manner. All in all, this dealer makes the shopper feel welcome and the buying process a breeze. I would highly recommend Gary Lang Chevy to anyone asking for a good dealer and when the time comes, I will certainly return for another vehicle. My thanks to Adam, Dion, and Derek for making my car buying experience a very fun and pleasant one. More
This is the best place to get your Subaru repaired in Northern Illinois. The Subaru mechanics have a lot of skill and experience, so the job gets done fast and correct, the first time through. And the van driver, Bill, is able to “get you home and back”, SAFELY, over the worst snow-and-ice covered roads in McHenry county, if your car is kept overnight Keeping in mind, that, you get what you pay for, the price is right too. I had come in for sales. Bought a new Kia Sorento. Had a "factory installed sunroof" installed by Kia, to later find out they subletted the work to a local shop. I had to bring the vehicle in to Kia 6 times to have it done correctly. It would not open, then not close, then made loud noises while running, then stuck open during a rain storm. ALL the time having to go back to the dealership. Next my gas door would NOT latch...took it in to be replaced. Took 3 hours to do, went home the next time I got gas would not close! Had to go to a local friend to fix correctly. Was told there was a BUY BACK policy on all vehicles purchased.... but not told the buy back would be 7k less than I paid just 11 months prior. NOW I am losing money on a car that has been a headache since day one. Tried reaching out to management wanting to just forfeit the money spent and get out of contract with Gary Lang. Management and reps have NOT called me back... they are unwilling to do the "right thing" for a customer. Spoke with Gary on the 1st incident after numerous visits and expressed my displeasure.... but the general manager has yet to call me back to discuss this matter...VERY disappointing to spend 26k to find out less than a year later its only worth 18k......buy theyll give me 22k IF and only IF I buy something else... was what I was offered. I would NOT receommend this dealership and I make that very clear to all of my clients and friends. Unless they do the right thing and take back the vehicle that apparently isnt worth the paper I signed. More
I was a drive-in and they checked the car and told me how long it would take to fix. I was out in a couple of hours thanks to the great help service writer Adam Loresch gave us. Ryan Kranz showed us a Subaru Impreza, manual shift, and we loved the car. Great service. Ryan made the experience fun and informative. We definitely would have bought the car from Ryan if it had been the right color, but we had to find it elsewhere. We were getting burnt out on the car-buying process, but Ryan got us energized again. More
I tried to buy a new 2012 Kia optima. In the end the price was higher than the price of a new 2013 Kia Optima. He justified himself by saying that I would never get the price I had been offered/quoted a price was higher than the price of a new 2013 Kia Optima. He justified himself by saying that I would never get the price I had been offered/quoted at the other dealerships(yes more than one quote) and I would end up coming back to buy from him. This is a typical justification line that all dealerships use and at the end of the day all dealerships end up being with-in $50-$100 of one another after beating them up about price. All dealership's talks smack about other dealership's, in my opinion this is awful salesmanship. When I asked if this was the best price he never said yes, he evaded my question, I called him out on this. George and his "manager" Had no interest in negotiating and when I called his bluff on the price he became irate and essentially kicked me out of the dealership. The dealership also low-balled me on my trade in, offered $500 when carmax offered me $1700. Very insulting. After George stormed away in a huff like an upset child the dealership with-held my car keys from me. It took another 5 minutes before I was able to leave because the "manager" and George were playing keep away with my car keys. George was un-interested in selling the car and making an easy sale for himself as we were not far off from my goal price. Very unprofessional, very disappointing, I will not return. More
