HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, LIES Gary Lang Kia deserves negative stars based on my experience with them. I have regretted making a purchase there time and time again and should have g Gary Lang Kia deserves negative stars based on my experience with them. I have regretted making a purchase there time and time again and should have gone with my gut feeling back then. In October of 2014 I purchased a 2015 Kia Optima SXT, beautiful car but the most horrible customer service. Lies, fraud and more at the time of purchase (everything from having the incorrect milage on the paperwork to delivering the WRONG car to never filing the correct coverage), but I digress, had gotten over that and recently decided to trade it in to buy an SUV (not with them, but need to talk to them regarding some cancellations on the Kia). Again nothing but horrible service from Derrick and Chris and GL Kia. Went in on 9/21/16 to cancel the additional warranties I purchased when we initially purchased the car; after about an hour wait was treated rudely, but we were able to file our paperwork (with Derrick). The cancellation form clearly states to allow three to four weeks processing, five weeks later I call the warranty company (JM&A Group) and I come to find out that they haven't received our cancellation paperwork. I call GL Kia and ask to speak with Derrick, I am continually transferred to his direct line and end up at his voicemail every single time, he doesn't return my calls. After about a week or so, I get transferred to Chris Ims, after leaving him several messages, he gets back to me to say that Derrick is on vacation and must've not filed our paperwork but he will look into it. He calls me back to let me know that he cannot find any of our paperwork, and asks if I have copies. I email copies of everything to him and he says he will take care of it. Two weeks later I call the insurance company and yay! (looks like Chris submitted it!!) They have received our paperwork and processed the cancellation, however, it is the dealer's responsibility to process our refund. I reach out to Chris via email and voicemail and after 3 weeks - NO ANSWER. I called again today 11/14/16 and after 3 failed attempts and getting voicemail boxes, I call again, but this time ask the receptionist to please track him down, I will hold. He takes my call and very blandly asks what I need - seriously?! As if he hasn't been receiving my multiple follow up requests. He transfers me to a lady named Jennifer who very kindly says she will look into if for me and call me back today (11/14/16) - so now I wait. Will never purchase with Gary Lang Kia in McHenry again - horrible service, horrible experience. Ps... if you take your car for an oil change (we paid for the extended maintenance) be prepared to wait at least 1.5 hours every single time, and that's with an appointment! Update on 11/16/16- Still no call back from anyone at Gary Lang Kia regarding a timeframe for our reimbursement, meanwhile, was expecting to sell/trade in our current car for over a month now. Anyone with even a bit of sense will know that they are costing us money. I am so annoyed and honestly outraged at the lack of customer service from everyone we've encountered t GLK. Everyday my car (2015 Kia Optima SXT) is getting devalued all because the people at GLK can't seem to do their job right. I will be calling them again today seeing as that is the only way to get answers. Very disappointed. UPDATE! Update on 12/2/16 - Refund has posted to my account. Elayna, thank you for your response, it is nice to see that you take care to respond to clients. However, it would be much more impressive if your associates (Derek Marquez) and managers (Chris Ims) took that upon themselves as well. While Mike Fullmer (general manager) did contact me the morning of 11/16/16 in response to reading my review, it is a very big shame that it takes a negative review to get something handled. Yes, Mike was able to look into getting our refund taken care of. HOWEVER....the refund calculations were done incorrectly (not by Mike, but by your office manager), if I had not taken the time to double check the figures, I would have been shorthanded over a hundred dollars. Upon seeing the mistake, I called Mike and he reviewed the numbers with me and agreed that is was done incorrectly and rectified the situation. So again, while I do appreciate Mike's time and attention to this matter (he took time to look into the situation and get it expedited), it shouldn't have to come down to this. No client should have to spend so much time and energy to get such a simple issue resolved. More
