On 3/21 after speaking with him I asked for my options in writing, and he said he would and them I said I would wait while he emailed them- and said he would not be emailing me or providing anything in writing. I asked if this call was recorded, and he said I called on my cell. I believe he did this to go around the recording that is provided by the dealership. I signed papers on a 2018 Ford Edge with 59 K miles, that the Wood Care Package was to cover, including a 3 day, 300 mile exchange guarantee that is plastered all across their website that is a paid service of $1,695 (I paid 1,495). I took possession of the car on 3/19/24 at approximately 2:20 PM. On 3/20 shortly after 8 AM I called to report the smell of burning oil, electrical problems, including the car not starting, the lift gate opening on it's own while in the garage without touching; and then not opening when pushing any of the 4 options (fob, internal button, kick, external button) They asked me to bring it back to have it looked at (a 45 minute drive 1 way) I took 1/2 day off from work where they offered to fix the lift gate when they were repairing another item we discussed prior to contract. I agreed to return at a future date. I returned home. Later that night, the gate continued to open/close while garaged, and did not start in the morning. I called again on 3/21 to share I felt unsafe, as this gate could come open while driving. They offered to provide a loaner car, and fix the issue- If I could bring it over. I informed them I could not bring it over, where he offered to have my sales person see if he could come get the vehicle & drop off a loaner. My sales person called 2 hours later, and I informed him I wished to use the 3 day/300 mile exchange guarantee. He said he would call back, at the time of writing he has not called back. I called and spoke to Shane McClelland who is their finance manager who told me I have exceeded my 3 days because I took possession on Tuesday (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) and argued that is 72 hours. From 2PM on Tuesday until 2 PM on Thursday is 48 hours and told me he would not put what options he had offered me in writing since he would not honor their 3day/300. I do not have an official copy of my loan document and it took 2 emails and requesting a physical copy of the car fax report 2 times. The paperwork was not available as I had asked for at pick up, the car was not clean/detailed/or gassed up when I came to get it like promised and I had to wait nearly 2 hours for them to get that complete, plus finding the 2nd key. Unprofessional all the way around. More
