After ascertaining a reasonable ballpark value for my car from Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer I took it in, half expecting the dealer to badmouth the car and tell me how little it was worth. I was not d from Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer I took it in, half expecting the dealer to badmouth the car and tell me how little it was worth. I was not disappointed. I understood that the KBB value was an estimate based on the information I gave, which of course included the mileage, and a real time inspection. However, since I was scrupulously honest with my description I didn't expect their offer to be adjusted downward by one third. The reason, drummed into my head over and over, was the mileage. It was over 100K and therefore would no doubt be sent to auction but of course, that would be after they invested hundreds of dollars in it by putting on hub caps (which they knew were missing before they ever saw the car) and that it had 109K on the odometer. I foolishly agreed to their low offer, just to get it over with. Then the waiting began. I was told when I made the appointment that it would take 30 minutes, give or take. I had to ask a friend to drive 15 miles to pick me up and take me home afterwards. She, unfortunately, had an emergency and wouldn't be able to wait around while these clowns screwed around. I explained to them that it was just taking too long and I was no longer interested in doing business. The rudeness and disrespect was something I've never experienced from any car dealership in all my life. The "salesperson" kept beating to death the excuse that the mileage was why they wouldn't offer me the FIXED offer KBB applied to my car after their appraisal This offer was good for 7 days and there were no surprises because I was very honest and upfront to begin with. They just kept harping on the mileage. Then someone, I think it was a manager, told me it would be at least 25 more minutes because "someone was ahead" of me. Since I'd already been cooling my heels for well over an hour I just wanted out. They had removed my license plates anticipating the sale and when I asked the "salesperson" to put them back on he didn't do it; just left them sitting on his desk and walked away to another room. I finally walked to the door and when I asked this "sales manager" person if someone was going to put my plates on for me, he looked at me and said "Well, I'm not going to do it.", turned his back and went out the door. The original sales guy ended up doing it. If you look up in the dictionary under "Used Car Salesmen" you'd see a picture of these men and their dealership. I felt like everything negative I had ever heard about car salesmen was within the borders of my experience there. Disrespect, dishonesty, rudeness are just the beginning of the list describing Carson City Hyundai. Stay away! There are other dealers. Kelley Blue Book and their program is going to hear from me, too, though they make it clear what to expect from the experience, and it sure wasn't what I went through. I'd be curious to know how they would have treated their own mothers or grandmothers under the circumstances. I know this: their mothers would hang their heads in shame thinking they raised such boors. More
Took my car for a recall. Got it back with battery dying every two days. The dealership too no responsibility for their actions. Thy did nothing to fix their mistakes. Now I'm stuck with a car that dies eve every two days. The dealership too no responsibility for their actions. Thy did nothing to fix their mistakes. Now I'm stuck with a car that dies every two days. They also asked me to answer a survey that they would send out and request I give them 5 stars. I never got a survey because they knew I wouldn't give them 5 stars. Horrible mechanics. Zero responsibility. Avoid this place unless your want a broken car. More
I Dropped off my car for a recall. Complimentary car wash and inspection was added on that I did not ask for. I askedsince you are doing a complimentary inspection could you pay special attention to the stee and inspection was added on that I did not ask for. I askedsince you are doing a complimentary inspection could you pay special attention to the steering wheel because it clunks. Service writer said they know about a coupler that goes bad in the column. When I picked up car I was charged an hour to confirm that the coupler was bad, when it was supposed to be a complimentary inspection. A whole hour just to confirm a clunk when turning the wheel, $159. I was not told their would be a extra charge for this. It turns out the clunk is another major recall, the mdps coupler that is a well known problem. The car was not disassembled to inspect the coupler. Seems a little ridiculous to charge a whole hour when no labor was involved. Then I was told the spark plugs are fouled. The car starts and runs great gets 32 mpg and the spark plugs are fouled? The picture in the paper work I was given shows a spark plug with a normal whitish gray burn pattern, not a dark blackish wet plug like a fouled plug would have. I was also told and in the paperwork that the transmission oil is dirty / burnt smelling. When I checked the transmission oil myself it is a clear pinkish red like any acceptable transmission oil would be for a car with only 77,000 miles on it and it hardly has any smell to it at all, just the normal ATF smell. Obviously your service department in Carson City is trying to sell a lot of unneeded services to the unsuspecting public. Overall I am very dissatisfied at the service received. I paid the bill because I was in shock at being charged $160 for the added on ?complimentary? services and did not know what to do at the time. I am extremely dissatisfied at having been inconvenienced at having to bring the car in for one recall already because the car wasn?t designed very well, and then on top of that I was charged for an item that was to be noted on the complimentary inspection. I believe this is very dishonest. If they reply they only want to talk on the phone. They do not want anything in writing to you, obviously trying to hide the dishonesty that they operate under. They want to force you to have a telephone conversation to correct any problems but can’t have it in writing like an email. Do not trust this place at all. More
Bought a used 2018 vehicle a year ago at this dealership. 2 weeks later the transmission seized. Our was v covered under warranty but it took 5 weeks to get my car back. Last month my engine light came on. 2 weeks later the transmission seized. Our was v covered under warranty but it took 5 weeks to get my car back. Last month my engine light came on. Took to a local mechanic who checked it out and diagnosed it as needing a new water pump and probably new timing belt (which is a common job for maintenance). Called Dan at Hyundai service dept. He says they had plenty of availability and could do the job complete in 3 days. It's been almost 4 weeks now. Three different times the xx was "oh we need another part". For two weeks the mechanic that started the water pump and had the car apart "has the flu". And he is the only mechanic that can do a routine water pump and timing belt? xxx? I drive for a living and have more list a month of income and they're charging me 2k for the repair that is taking a month to do? That's right...I still do not have my car back. After promise after promise being strong along with lies and xx. It's a nine hour job!!! DO NOT GO TO CARSON CITY HYUNDAI FOR ABBY REASON! FYI... Dan is the owner's son and the service dept manager. Yup. More
Do not take your Hyundai to this dealership for recalls or repairs!!! My engine seized near Fallon, Nevada, so I had it towed to Carson Hyundai. The engine was covered under warranty, so they replaced it. or repairs!!! My engine seized near Fallon, Nevada, so I had it towed to Carson Hyundai. The engine was covered under warranty, so they replaced it. Suddenly I had ruined lower control arms and passenger sway bar end link, that would cost over $1000 to replace. There were no issues with these suspension parts prior to the engine issues so we knew something was fishy. We declined to have them replaced, and opted to have a local mechanic look it over, and they assured us we could pick up the car and drive it home safely. We went to pick up the car (4 hours away from home) and it was knocking so bad that we had to leave it there. They said they would look into it. That type of wear does not happen overnight! When I talked to the service manager, Dan Napoleon, (Owner's nephew) he told me that it was the suspension parts, that they were just worn out, and the mechanic didn't have to touch the suspension parts when they replaced the engine (lie). I told him there was no way and that I would not be having them touch the car anymore. He was very defensive and rude. He told me he closed out the repair and I needed to get it off of their lot or I would have to pay storage fees. Having the car so far away and working full time, it was difficult to get to the dealership to check, so after incurring $160 in storage fees, plus the gas and time the first time making an 8 hour round trip, we had it towed back home. Turns out they did disturb the suspension, they took the subframe out, put in new cotter pins, and they didn't tighten the parts back up properly, or do an alignment, so I had to pay another $145 to have this done. I called the service department several times and left messages, never got a call back. I paid over $400 for their mistake and was ignored because they couldn't get any more money out of me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS! Lithia Hyundai of Reno is amazing, I should have had it towed there instead. More

I will never buy another Hyundai or any car from this dealer. Hyundai has been a pain to deal with and this dealership has just made my experience that much worse. When your car breaks down and the roads dealer. Hyundai has been a pain to deal with and this dealership has just made my experience that much worse. When your car breaks down and the roadside assistance that they offer is going to leave you stranded on the side of the freeway was just the beginning. After that dealing with this dealership has been my worst experience with a dealership yet. When your car is under 6 months old and has less than 7000 miles on it and brakes down I would expect phenomenal service, but instead get treated like it’s your fault you bought a car that has problems. Sales Manager (Brent Lister) is abrasive and rude! Carson City Hyundai had about five 2019 Hyundai Tucson for sale. We were there when they opened and greeted by a young energetic sales person. I exp Carson City Hyundai had about five 2019 Hyundai Tucson for sale. We were there when they opened and greeted by a young energetic sales person. I explained I was only in town for the day and was going to purchase a car today. I had a list of about 15 vehicles (4 different dealers) in the area that I had researched. I asked to see a silver Tuscon and thought that this could be the right car. I ask the sales person if he could get closer to the price of a similar Tucson at a Lexus dealer 100 miles away. He said he would check and be right back. He returned with Brent Lister (Sales Mgr). Brent proceeded to say they had no haggle pricing and they have the best prices within 500 miles! I told him there was a 2019 Tucson with less miles, 100 miles away, and was less expensive. He seemed annoyed, told us "like I said our prices are not negotiable, have a nice day" and stormed off! In all my years of buying cars, I have never been treated so abrasive and rude. The sales person kept apologizing but we felt we were thrown out. As we drove to the next dealer on my list, I called the General Manager (Bret Riggs) to let him know what a horrible experience I just had with his Sales Manager. Unfortunately, the GM seemed to have a similar attitude and said "do you have anything else you want to complain about?". An hour later I ended up buying a 2019 Ford Escape from a dealer in Reno. They were professional and got to a deal that everyone was happy with. More
Doesn't Stand Behind Their Repair Do not get any major repairs done here! My daughter's engine developed a knock in it, of which she was told the engine needed to be replaced. $60 Do not get any major repairs done here! My daughter's engine developed a knock in it, of which she was told the engine needed to be replaced. $6000 and 4 weeks later, she got her car back with a supposedly rebuilt engine installed. Fast forward 10 months, and the same thing happens. Engine develops a knock and upon inspection, it is determined that the engine needs to be replaced. Took it back to Carson City Hyundai and they informed us that they could do nothing about it since the supposedly changed ownership and the engine installed was provided by a third party. Contacting Hyundai customer relations yielded nothing but a rude customer service representative. It is very apparent that Hyundai and their dealers do not stand behind their cars or their service. Highly recommend avoiding purchasing a Hyundai or getting your car serviced there unless you purchase a good extended warranty as well. You will more than likely be disappointed in your purchase. More
