The wife and I have been dealing with Carolina Motor Cars for about 13 years. We have purchased 3 cars, and 2 pick-up trucks and 1 SUV from them, each time we got a better deal from them, than any place else for about 13 years. We have purchased 3 cars, and 2 pick-up trucks and 1 SUV from them, each time we got a better deal from them, than any place else we visited. Any time we had a problem with any of them, it was repaired with speed and courtesy. One of our sons that live in Delaware also purchased a SUV from Carolina Motor Cars about 7 years ago, he is still driving this vehicle, and has had no problems with it. When Chuck ran the repair shop all of our work was done there, and we never had any thing that wasn't taken care of quickly and completely. We have had 2 of our children visiting us or passing through, that had car problems, they were taken to Chuck at the repair shop, they were repaired in reasonable time and with reasonable cost. I never expected to be able to get so nice a car at such a reasonable price, but the thing that has impressed me the most is how hard everyone there worked to make it happen for me with the best financing p a reasonable price, but the thing that has impressed me the most is how hard everyone there worked to make it happen for me with the best financing possible. Even after I had agreed to financing that was at a high interest rate (really don't have credit, have paid cash for everything since my bankruptcy 14 years ago)they continued to work and got me financing at a very decent rate. The very few things that needed attention were taken care of at my earliest convenience. I was so impressed with the mechanic that I will be switching from the one I have been using for the past 8 years. I saw where one of the persons writing a review had a issue about the car fax. I saw at least 2 signs offering a free car fax report. They gave it to me without my even asking. I not only would but have recommended Carolina Motor Cars to my best friend. My wife and i bought a suv from Carolina Motor Cars and we have had no problems with the car. They went through the car from top to bottom. The dealership posts their inventory's CarFax Reports on their website free of charge and they also gave us the paper copy before we bought the vehicle - and we didn't even have to ask for it. They did this in spite of the fact that our particular vehicle showed an accident in its history. The accident made me a bit nervous so we took the car to a mechanic before we bought it to ensure there was no real damage beyond the cosmetics that were repaired. The folks at the dealership were extremely accomodating and flexible throughout the buying process. I would both recommend them and buy from them again. More
I recently bought a BMW 335i with 24000 miles on it from Carolina Motor Cars and traded mine in. When I bought the car the salesman told me that it had been in an accident, hit a curb and that they had to Carolina Motor Cars and traded mine in. When I bought the car the salesman told me that it had been in an accident, hit a curb and that they had to replace some plastic to make the car right. I normally wouldn’t buy a car that had been in an accident but I felt like I was getting a fair deal. When I took the car to Leith and had a tech look at it, he discovered that the front bumper was not the original bumper… lots more plastic than I would have imagined after hitting a curb. Also he noticed that the strut springs had been pushed up so hard that they actually dented the inside of the car under the hood, finally he discovered that the driver side door wasn’t closing properly(neither of them) and found over spray under the hood on the strut tower ( the part that holds the shock at a particular height and angle) and in the door jam. I told him I notice that the passenger side head rest would vibrate at a certain speed and he said that that was a symptom of a high speed impact to the front of the vehicle. I bought a car fax( a little late now but I asked to see one at the dealership the way the commercial says but don’t think I saw it) and it said that there was an accident’s last xmas to the right side but this was fresh paint overspray on the left. I called Carolina Motor Cars and explained that I was unhappy. They said that we could talk about it and when we did I asked if they could discount the price of the car based on the fact that it way worse than even they knew ( or they played dumb real well) and that the damage did in fact have an impact on how the car rides now. They had the nerve to offer to pay for ½ of the repairs if I let their repair guy do it. Everyone in the business knows that body shops will inflate the bill so the customer ends up paying for it all. I wanted a discount and they want more money for this wrecked car. They said they would have their expert look at it and assess the damage but I can’t trust them now to do it fairly based on the fact that they screwed me once already. Buyer Beware of Carolina Motor Cars Check Engine light came on day 4 and its been at Leith ever since waiting on intake and exhaust camshaft bearings. Now I'm making BMW Payments and driving a Cobolt provided by Leith. I don't think it gets much worse than this. More
