The online and pre-purchasing experience was great. When I arrived, my vehicle looked nothing like the photos. There were dents and scratches that were new. They promised they would fix them. The car buying process was fairly easy. The problem started when I noticed that there was a warning light. I took my vehicle to a mechanic and they told me a sensor was not working on air The problem started when I noticed that there was a warning light. I took my vehicle to a mechanic and they told me a sensor was not working on airbags for the driver's side. I contacted Carmax and could not get in for a couple of weeks. Took the vehicle in and was told they were going to take it to the Ford dealership for repairs due to the low mileage on the Bronco. I received a call from the service tech to inform me that Ford wouldn't get my vehicle in for a look for 5 days as they had a master tech out. Once Ford looked at my Bronco they found the issue and needed to order parts, causing another delay for 2-3 days. Then I received a message from the service tech saying that my Bronco would be ready late Thursday or early Friday. After not hearing anything on Thursday, I called Friday morning, I couldn't get a straight answer for most of the day. I talked to the service tech and he promised to find out what the issue was and get back to me in 15 minutes. He did not get back to me, finally I called back and found out that he was off the lot doing something else. I talked to someone else and they looked into it, never talked to the same person at Carmax. Finally someone called at 3:30 pm that my vehicle was ready. If I hadn't been persistent on Friday, I believe that I would not have gotten my vehicle back until next week. Needless to say I would not recommend their service department at all. They were all very nice but didn't keep any of their promises during the entire process. More
Paperwork was completed quickly and the vehicle was exactly what I had ordered. I have bought many vehicles from Carmax and always had a smooth and pleasant experience. We had a specific car shipped in from out of state. We had some time constraints and really needed the transaction to get wrapped up by Sptember 30, 2025. They communicated well through the process and Carmax was able to make it happen. We picked up the car during heavy rains in Scottsdale and there were some paint and glass issues that were not disclosed on the original add when the car was at the California dealership. We noticed the defects after we got home and it had stopped raining. We notified our Carmax dealer and they responded right away. We came to an agreement to handle the paint and glass issues . I understand that these are used cars and they cant make it perfect. We understand that, but Carmax stepped up and did what was reasonable. We are happy with the outcome. More
