if there was an option for 0 stars, I would have chosen that option. Worst. Experience. I took my car in for oil change and tire rotation per a prepaid service agreement. This is a car I bought from th that option. Worst. Experience. I took my car in for oil change and tire rotation per a prepaid service agreement. This is a car I bought from this dealer. When it was completed, I was informed I would need to pay $84 for the oil change despite the person who received the car confirming there was no charge for today's service. When I challenged the cost and said don't do the service then the employee told me it had been done i needed to pay for it. I was then directed to a manger who greeted me by saying "why don't you want to pay for the oil change?" Then he told his employee to bring the car back in and put the old oil back in. He asked me how I felt about that and I said OK. Then he told me he would explain my rights to me and that he could charge me up to $100 each time I bring my car to them. He was condescending and bullying to me. After he scolded me, he told me they would cover it this time...I refused to let them. I would rather they receive this money from me, since it is the last time I will ever do business with them. I encourage people to avoid this dealer. My entire visit was centered around selling me things (needed or not) and getting money from me - it had nothing to do with what my car might need to have done. I will not go back. More

I dropped my truck off as there were multiple lights came on my dashboard. I paid $200 for a diagnosis on my 2007 Toyota tundra. The service advisor came back, there are 3 things they found. I need to repl on my dashboard. I paid $200 for a diagnosis on my 2007 Toyota tundra. The service advisor came back, there are 3 things they found. I need to replace: Oil leaked, exhaust, and transmission. There wasn’t any codes provided that triggered the problem I brought my car in. I took my truck and got that fixed elsewhere. However, the VSC off lights is on when I engage in my 4x4 4hi or 4lo. I called back to see how long does the diagnosis last till as it has not even past two weeks and the service advisor mentioned to me, “every time I bring my car in there’s a diagnosis fee” thats absurd. First of all I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander with 12,000 miles on it. It came with the 100,000 warranty, we also bought the extra warranty, rust protection and it’s under 15,000 miles so it still has that e miles on it. It came with the 100,000 warranty, we also bought the extra warranty, rust protection and it’s under 15,000 miles so it still has that extra protection on it. I brought my car in with the error code secondary brake malfunction error code on it. After sitting for close to 3 hours she comes back to tell me there top mechanic took a look at it and asked if I ever overfill my tank? I said no I let it fill and when it’s done it’s done. Then she asked does anyone else fill my car? I said no just me. Then went on to tell me that they took the board and everything off and looked at the charcoal canister and pumps and it all looks fine but recommends we replace it. Huh? So it’s fine no debris but we need to replace it? She said it’s coming up as a user error so it won’t be covered it will be 1200.00. I said I have all this warranty and it’s not covered? She said no. So the code says secondary brake malfunction and you wanna charge me for a canister? Then tells me that she could change me 175 for the trip in today but they'll wave that and recommends we get it done but the part is out of stock. She kept saying it was user error ( and that they can tell that) and because it’s a user error Toyota won’t cover that. All I do is fill my car. Then never gives me the receipt or recommendation sheet. I do have the text they sent me while I was there. They also left oil all over the side of my car. I am not saying it’s all this womens fault but she was sure getting a line of crap to pass on.Highly do not recommend this place!!! More
I stopped at Carlson Toyota in coon rapids to get a new battery for my car. I didn't have an appointment. The guy told me if you go to the parts department and by it we will install it. I'm like cool. I d battery for my car. I didn't have an appointment. The guy told me if you go to the parts department and by it we will install it. I'm like cool. I did that. It went bad from that point. They sent a tech with me, and that person dropped the battery off a 4-foot counter to the floor. and put it in my car. They installed my battery incorrect. they turned it backwards they put the battery positive cable on the negative side and the negative on the positive. Blew a bunch a fuse. And told me that it going to cost me $523.00 for their mistake. The service Manager Lance came at me barking where is your work order where is your ticket. I told him your guys said if I buy this, they will install it. That guy is a xxxxx. He lacks customer service skills. More

I entered the service area and was meet by Tyson Kerkhoff the Assistant Service Manager. I explained the problem to him, and he spent a good deal of time with me asking questions. He stated that he would make an effort to get to the car as soon as possible. From there on out the service was fantastic. Tyson got the car in, and a problem was eventually diagnosed and fixed. Tyson made several phone calls to me to keep me informed as to what was going on. Overall, he was very helpful, knowledgeable, professional and communicated very well. This was one of the best service experiences I have every had at an auto dealership. I would highly recommend Carlson Toyota and especially Tyson Kerkhoff if you ever have a need for Toyota service. The last time I got my tires rotated, I asked for a ride from work to the dealership. The drive was not far. After verifying multiple times I would have a ride on time (due to having issues the last two tim from work to the dealership. The drive was not far. After verifying multiple times I would have a ride on time (due to having issues the last two times), my ride did not show up. In fact, I was picked up an hour late at my destination in below zero weather in February. Before finally getting picked up, I called several times for 45 minutes to get a ride. I either was put on hold or transferred to a voicemail. They explained my Lyft drive was picked up by a driver by dropped before it was time to get picked up. No one in the service department bothered to follow up and get me a ride nor did they take responsibility for it being their fault until they were called out on their lack of service. The service staff are very polite in person but their ability to follow through is not up to par. Do better. More
