Bull S**t!!! Jumping off a bridge would have been a better choice then purchasing a car from car hop...My 2000 Dodge Stratus has been nothing but a headache since Jumping off a bridge would have been a better choice then purchasing a car from car hop...My 2000 Dodge Stratus has been nothing but a headache since I purchased it...It rode well at first then on the 2nd day of me having it broke down...spent a whole week at the shop for a fuel pump! A few weeks after it leaves me stranded at work. Once they finally come get it (which took 3 days) they say my motor went bad. So, ends up with them another week! Once they "fix" that, the very next day my car won't shift into reverse or anything..the repair shop ends up confessing (after I have to argue bk n forth) that they used glue on my shifter cable and they will fix it if I buy the part!! Seriously? ? I purchased my car the end of July 2015 every car payment has been on time it is now October and I still can't drive my car! I spend most my time on the bus but also paying a car note!! Paid way too much for car, repairs far exceeded price of car. By the time I paid the car off on time, I had paid well over $15,000 for it, including all the repairs. For starters, I bought the car in July car. By the time I paid the car off on time, I had paid well over $15,000 for it, including all the repairs. For starters, I bought the car in July. In November, when I tried to turn the heat on, there was no heat. CarHop sent me to one of their "repair" shops who fixed the heat and tore up the air conditioning. The headlights wouldn't turn off and on. Their repair person told me they were on a relay. No, that repair was over $300. Let's see... brakes, tie rods, ball joints, muffler, oil gasket, transmission... the car ended up getting towed more than I could drive it. They sent me to a repair shop to replace the transmission. The warranty was about a week from expiring. Luckily, I had found an honest place who told me that car hop had told them to take a transmission they (car hop) had located and MAKE it fit. The shop refused to do shoddy work and told car hop there was no way they could do that. Finally, after pressure from the shop, car hop found another transmission (it lasted about 8 months). I was under the assumption that I couldn't do any better than a place like car hop, but, when I took the car in for an oil change and they couldn't get it out of the bay, (another tow... 2 in less than a month), I went to Jim Butler. They worked with me and now I'm driving a brand new car. Great warranty, 8 free oil changes and tire rotations, free OnStar for 6 months, wonderful customer service, and I never have to worry whether I'm going to get back and forth to my job. To anyone reading this, see Chris (the sales person) at Jim Butler in Fenton. You don't have to settle for a piece of junk. He'll get you in a new car that won't have to be towed around town. Oh, by the way, on my way home from work on Friday, I saw someone who had broken down on the highway (rush hour traffic). Where the license plate should be, there was a Car Hop plate! More
Please Stay away!. CAR HOP IS A RIPPPPPP OFFFFFFF!. Over priced used car for people with bad credit. It's not worth the stress. I had spent over 3500+ worth of repairs for my 02' Alero! I paid a total of $8, priced used car for people with bad credit. It's not worth the stress. I had spent over 3500+ worth of repairs for my 02' Alero! I paid a total of $8,000 for it. Car hop sells horrible used cars and they like to rip people off with bad credit because they know their credit will never get approved at a real dealership. Don't Do it Please it's not worth the stress. My car sat in my driveway broken for about 9 months. I refused to put another dime in that car. Carhop said they will help with repairs even though my warrenty expired. THEY LIED! I refuse to even drive pass a carhop location. Luckly I went to instacredit automart and they helped me get into a quality vehicle (07 with LOW LOW LOW MILES/MAINTENCE). More
I purchased a car from carhop in Florissant Mo. At first it was great, the service was great. I was informed that the car had passed inspection that there was nothing wrong with the car. I signed and drove it was great, the service was great. I was informed that the car had passed inspection that there was nothing wrong with the car. I signed and drove away within two hours. Well the next day the oil light came on. I took the car in for an oil change. Then the brake light came on two days later, so I had the front brakes replace. Nine days after I bought the car the brakes went out while I was driving, I pulled the emergency brake and the car kept going. I swerved through traffic to dodge cars and finally was able to pull my car on an empty lot. I called carhop and could not receive any assistance since it was a weekend. The car stayed parked for the whole weekend. Finally I talked to carhop warranty the following Monday and the warranty informed me that the car had never had it's inspection. They agreed to tow the car to one of their shops. I waited two days to get feed back from the warranty dept or the repair shop. I was given the run around about what was wrong with the car from the shop and the warranty dept. Finally the repair shop told me that the brake line was messed up but they wouldn't go into detail about. I called the warranty dept and the supervisor returned my phone call. She left a message stating that this car should have never been sold to me in this condition and that they didn't know it had all those problems. Here's the list of problems: Brake line rusted through and through from front to back and left to right Rear brake pads, and shoes messed up Thermostat bad Radiator needs to be replaced Water Pump needs to be replaced Radiator needs flushing Brake Fluid needs to be replaced and there were at least five more things wrong with the car. CArhop then told me that I could not keep the car because they were going to give it back to the wholesaler that bought the car for them. The total repairs on the car was over $1300. Carhop would not fix the problems. They were charging me 3 or 4 times more than what the car was worth. So they offered another car to me. I told them I didn't want it. I even went to another Carhop on St. Charles Rock Rd and the cars over there were worse!!! So I passed. I told them that I wanted my money back. I had already put money in the car that I had and also bought a policy for the car. Finally after many calls I got the finance company to release me from the loan. I went into the dealership to sign the form and get my money back. The manager "Tony Walker" would not give me my money back. He told me that he had to talk to the district manager. I waited five days and nothing! I called carhop again to get this resolved and "Tony Walker" gave me the run around again and wouldn't agree to give me my money back. I told him that I would be there shortly with the police to file a report. Ten minutes after hanging up he called back to tell me that they were sending me a check in the mail in 7-10 days. Needless to say, If I don't have that check I'm file a suit against for my down payment and the money I put into the car. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD! THEY WILL PREY UPON PEOPLE WHO NEEDS CARS! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER.....NONE OF THEM! More
Having seen the commercial on television about carhop where they are playing upbeat music, with a new car cruising down the highway, is such a joke! Carhop is attempting to mislead consumers into thinki where they are playing upbeat music, with a new car cruising down the highway, is such a joke! Carhop is attempting to mislead consumers into thinking these are actual cars they are selling on their lots. Well, I did buy a car from them, and it's an older car (overpriced) and the only way it's going to be cruising down any highway is on the back of a tow truck! When I purchased the car, I was assured it was THE best car on their lot (which doesn't say a thing for the others there!). When I got the car home, fluid was leaking from it. I immediately called and complained, and was told it was condensation from the air. Now, I've owned new cars before, and I've owned used cars, and none of them leaked like that. Next, the service engine light came on. They had reset the light to stay off just long enough. There were transmission problems, and they sent me to their "mechanic" who rigged it again. Next, the lights wouldn't go out. I was told they were on a relay timer. No, the entire system was messed up and had to be repaired (over $300 at my expense). Having bought the car during the summer, hot air did blow out when I tried the heater, but in the winter, I found there was no heat at all. The BBB convinced them to repair that, but when they did, they tore up the air conditioner. It's been a year since I bought the thing, and repairs are now up to $5,000 on the car, and it still needs more work. Carhop loves telling people that once they buy there and keep the payments up, "you can go anywhere and purchase a car from any major dealer." No, that's NOT true. If you have bad credit and it hasn't been repaired, or you haven't filed bankruptcy, you CAN'T go anywhere and get a new car. In the past year, this car has been in repair shops a total of 5 weeks. And that's what carhop really sells... not what they are showing on their commercials! More
Friendly and eager to help... until I got the car home and the problems began. The warranty is a joke. The engine was detailed to make it look good but is shot, electrical shorts in lights, no rear brak and the problems began. The warranty is a joke. The engine was detailed to make it look good but is shot, electrical shorts in lights, no rear brakes (how DID it pass inspection???), tires rigged with fix a flat to make them look good. Emailed salesperson twice, faxed letter to him, phoned him numerous times and never he never responded to any communication from me. Always "with another customer." Car is not safe and reliable as they stated, and it is far from being in excellent condition. A co-worker also bought a car from Carhop and hasn't even had it a month, and it's in the shop. I was told the service engine soon light was reset. Also, it was inspected over 200 miles away five days before I bought or saw the car. More
