I said I would recommend this dealership, if, and only if, you understand that the staff is not there to help, they are there to get you in and out. I sold (traded in) a vehicle and purchased one. The overall process was OK, there were multiple "computer issues" and delays, but I was able to get in ands out in just over 3.5 hours. The real issue, I had paid to have a vehicle brought in. When we went out for the test drive I noticed the key was an aftermarket smart key, without a "remote start" button. I was told well the only way to use remote start was through a phone app using their "LINK" system. They said "we've checked with the dealership and that's the only way to it". Long story short, they lied. I went by the dealership and was told if you had a FOB with the "remote start" feature you could use either the manufactures app or the remote start button on the remote. So I got the correct FOB and everything works. Basically I believe CarMax was told the same thing I was told by the dealership. They modified the response to me, saying the only way to get the feature was the phone app" so they wouldn't be on the hook to get the FOB that was required. So, again, keep in mind the primary goal of CarMax get you in and out with no additional expense to CarMax. Would I purchase again from CarMax? Not as a first choice. I used one of their competitor's that delivers the vehicle which had an issue, they addressed it and I was happy. So probably use them as a first choice. More
