Since purchasing the 2019 Ford EcoSport on May 31, 2023 Since purchasing the 2019 Ford EcoSport on May 31, 2023, for a financed amount of $18,447.34 with a down payment of $7,000, I've encountered nothing Since purchasing the 2019 Ford EcoSport on May 31, 2023, for a financed amount of $18,447.34 with a down payment of $7,000, I've encountered nothing but a string of issues. Just thirteen days post-purchase, I found myself bringing the vehicle in for service due to persistent stuttering and slowing down while pressing the gas pedal. On one particularly harrowing occasion, while cruising at nearly 60 mph on the highway, I narrowly avoided rear-end collisions as the car inexplicably dropped in speed. CarMax, from where I purchased the vehicle, referred me to Ford under the Manufacturer Warranty. After several days, Ford returned the car, claiming they found no issues. However, the very next day, the same problem resurfaced. This frustrating cycle repeated itself multiple times, with CarMax shuttling the vehicle back and forth to Ford, each time with no satisfactory resolution. Eventually, after having to tow the car from my workplace to CarMax Orlando, Ford finally identified the need for transmission rebuilding. Despite enduring months of waiting, upon retrieving the vehicle, the check engine light promptly illuminated, and the car resumed its erratic behavior of bucking, stuttering, and slowing down while driving. Throughout this ordeal, I've been without the vehicle I purchased, diligently paying my note on time. Recently, a CarMax service agent suggested potential wiring issues and highlighted that the vehicle's battery was incorrect, despite it being the one installed at the time of purchase. This vehicle, touted as being in working order multiple times, has continuously malfunctioned, endangering myself and my family. Consequently, I'm formally requesting CarMax to repurchase this lemon vehicle. I expect CarMax to buy back the vehicle from my possession, providing a full refund, along with an apology for the peril caused by their negligence in selling a defective vehicle. More

First of they never anserr the phone. When they do after days of trying you get a homo erectus to answer and treat you like a carcass. Serbice desk and customer service are garbage. They When they do after days of trying you get a homo erectus to answer and treat you like a carcass. Serbice desk and customer service are garbage. They are only nice when you walk in and a seller needs his commision, after that you are in a xxxx of problems trying to reach them for anything. Corporate and costumer care do nothing. No matter when or how you ask for help there is always an issue. Hard to not think they purposely do it to not honor your warranty, waste your time and let your warranty expire. More
My daughter is in college in Orlando and had money in hand to purchase a car. She spoke with someone at a different Carmax to have a car transferred - that worked beautifully. She never heard from the Or hand to purchase a car. She spoke with someone at a different Carmax to have a car transferred - that worked beautifully. She never heard from the Orlando Carmax. She called repeatedly and finally spoke to someone. Over the course of 3 weeks, she would reach out to them only and they told her it was being "quality inspected" which is a load of hooey since it came off a Carmax lot. She then spoke to a salesperson and requsted to come see it (again) and they said, oh it's on a test drive (!!!!). We tried again to schedule when we were in town visiting and the same sales person (Tyra) referred us to the finance department - which I can only assume means they sold it.. No one ever called us back, as promised, and she failed to respond to the direct question of if it sold. Horrible experience. More

I have bought 2 cars from Carmax. The sales part is great, but the service department has always and still is the poorest excuse for a service department I have ever seen. I grew up in dealerships, so great, but the service department has always and still is the poorest excuse for a service department I have ever seen. I grew up in dealerships, so I know how good service is supposed to be. They have had my car for over 2 weeks, and I have had to deal with 4 different staff/service writers, but can't get a manager to call me back. I keep getting the run around because they don't know how to fix the car, and had to send it to the chevy dealership across the street. The Service manager, Steve, is either never there, and he clearly doesn't know how to return a call, so it isn't surprising that the service center is so poorly run, no accountability. Also, the hours at this service department are very rigid, as they are not open on weekend. Truly, if it wasn't for the warranty, I wouldn't use this dealership for service as the it is a joke! More

Even though I was clearly window shopping, the salesman took me around the lot, showed me numerous vehicles and helped me refine my car search. I ended up buying a vehicle from a dealer near my house in Alachua, but if they had not had what I wanted, I would have been willing to go back to Orlando or to Jacksonville to purchase a vehicle. Maybe Carmax should come to the Gainesville area.:) More
Wonderful wonderful service. Everyone was friendly. The salesman (whose name I unfortunately can't remember) took me straight to their computer to search their inventory. We printed off a few promising lea salesman (whose name I unfortunately can't remember) took me straight to their computer to search their inventory. We printed off a few promising leads and went on the lot. However someone parked the cars the wrong way so the guy had to search for them, but he told me I could wait inside and he'd bring them to me. (Remember, this is Florida in the summer, THAT is caring for the customer) He found and I looked them over. Unfortunately many didn't work out either because I didn't like the size of the rear window (too tiny) or my legs were too long (my knees kept hitting the steering wheel, haha.). When I mentioned that one car had a moldy smell, the guy had the trainee drive it straight over to the service center to get it checked out because they guarantee that no car has flood or water damage. And a modly musty smell only comes from water. (however every other car I saw was CLEAN and odorless) After that the guy let me walk around a bit on my own and checked on me now and then in case I wanted to see anything else. Him and his trainee were knowledgeable about the company and how their Maxcare program works. Most of the prices were reasonable for the cars and the beauty of Carmax is that the price on the car is THE price (only taxes and any title/tag charges are added). There are no dealer fees or anything. They also offer their own warranty that covers everything for $30 a month. You can also have any car from any Carmax brought to your local Carmax. (I think the fee for that is like $89?) I didn't end up buying from them because I was able to find something with less miles and around the same price at a dealership. Plus I just personally like having a normal warranty. But I do highly highly recommend Carmax for people who are on a tight budget or parents looking for a used car for their kids. These people know how to listen to people and treat their customers. More
