I purchased a Hyundai Tucson from the CarMax Burbank location on August 17, after spending a month coordinating the transaction with CarMax representatives. Unfortunately, my experience at this location location on August 17, after spending a month coordinating the transaction with CarMax representatives. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was extremely disappointing. The information I was given prior to my appointment was completely different from what I was told in person, creating a bait-and-switch feeling and pressure to pay in full regardless of earlier assurances. Despite scheduling my appointment two weeks in advance, the vehicle was blocked by several others and not accessible, and it took over 45 minutes just to get inside. The staff member assisting me spoke so quietly that the entire process became unnecessarily difficult. When inspecting the vehicle, I identified two issues to be addressed before delivery: fixing the windshield wipers (which were not working during the test drive) and properly drilling holes for the front license plate. Neither was done correctly — the wipers were never fixed, and the license plate was installed visibly crooked, which the seller himself acknowledged. No one from CarMax Burbank has followed up, taken responsibility, or offered any apology for these shortcomings. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location. More

CarMax made it very easy to purchase my car. Sold me a Lemon and refused to make it right. The sales guy was very friendly but other then that it was a horrible experience. They sold me a car for $12k, I put $5k cash down and financed $7k. Three months later the transmission went out and I could not drive the car. I had it towed back to Carmax and they refused to fix it, refused to buy it back for what I still owed or refund any money so I could get another car. They would only help me get out of this car and into another one if I put another $3,500 down. I am a single mom with four kids and now I'm stuck with a car I can't drive and still have to make payments on. I can't get to work, get my kids to school or anywhere else and Carmax refused to help me in anyway. They claim to stand behind their "high quality cars" which is a joke. They claim to provide excellent customer service but refused to help. The manager gave me a Customer Care phone number to call before he sent us on our way, which wasn't even the correct number. This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a company. I purchased a vehicle at the CarMax Burbank location 9/14/13 and today is 1/4/14....I still have no vehicle plates, registration, and my te company. Carmax has been giving me the run around the entire time blaming the DMV - but it was their negligence of not finishing paperwork that was the hold up. Customer Service and their Finance group has promised to resolve the issue since 12.19.13 - and it has yet to be done. It feels like they are holding me hostage and I have no recourse. I beg you - do not buy from them....save yourself the headache and time you will waste having to call and ask over and over why this has not been completed. Horrible. More
