This location sucks! All the negative reviews are accurate. If you reach out to CarMax, expect to talk to a different person every-time. Most of the people you speak with All the negative reviews are accurate. If you reach out to CarMax, expect to talk to a different person every-time. Most of the people you speak with on the phone aren't even at this location! I had a car transferred to this location. It took forever with no updates. I reached out and was told the reason it was taking so long was because it needed some repairs. I asked what repairs but they could not tell me. I was told to call back the following day at 12:01pm. When I asked why that specific time, the agent had no idea. When the car finally was ready, CarMax reached out and asked if I was interested in the express check out. I said yes. I was then told someone would follow up. When I spoke with Joe, he said he was too busy to do the express checkout but I could come in the following day and do the regular process which would take a couple of hours. I reached back out to the South Broadway location, explaining the situation, asking if someone else could help. I never heard back. I reached back out again on Monday. The consultant could not explain why Joe refused to do the express check out but offered to do it herself. I spent hours while at work doing the express check out by phone including CarMax running a credit check, uploading documentation, sending a selfie, etc. I reached back out to confirm if the car was going to be ready and I was told the consultant had only scheduled a test drive. The agent told me the manager, Mike would call me. I received a call from another consultant named Dylan, not Mike. I then had to go through the entire process again, giving the same information again. I was then told CarMax needed to run my credit again because of multiple errors on their part. Running your credit multiple times negatively impacts your credit score! If purchasing a car is this complicated, I cannot imagine what it must be like if you have some sort of issue with your car, warranty issues, returns, etc. More
I responded to an online ad for a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, at noon on August 16, 2022 and was contacted by George Jara, purportedly a sales agent for CarMax, 5850 South Broadway, Littleton, CO 80121. We disc at noon on August 16, 2022 and was contacted by George Jara, purportedly a sales agent for CarMax, 5850 South Broadway, Littleton, CO 80121. We discussed a trade-in for my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe in exchange of a purchase of the 2020 Pathfinder. Through Mr. Jara I scheduled a time that afternoon to have the Santa Fe appraised by CarMax. Mr. Jara texted me and asked if I would "like to reserve for 72 hours the 2020 NIssan Pathfinder SL, Stk#22776899 located in Loveland, CO.?" I replied by text, "Yes." Mr. Jara replied by text, "Okay thanks." I kept my appointment for appraisal of my Santa Fe, that afternoon. At 4:00 p.m. that afternoon, Mr. Jara texted, "David, I'll be calling you in few minutes. All the best.!! George Jara - CarMax" and also texted me a link to the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SL, Stk#22776899. At 4:10 pm, I was contacted by Michaela, who purported to be Mr. Jara's assistant; she offered to help me with the prospective car purchase. To further that purchase, she took a financing application from my wife and myself, in the course of which we disclosed SSNs, dates of birth, and we authorized the submission of the application to CarMax Auto Finance, all the while understanding that the subject vehicle was being held for us, pending conclusion of the transaction, either a closing of the sale or rejection of terms offered. Michaela called back, at 7:30 p.m., informing me that the subject 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SL, Stk#22776899 had been sold to an in-store customer. Apologies were profuse, but of course an in-store customer had to be given priority, despite the promised 72-hour hold (7 1/2 hours of which had expired) and that we had, in reliance upon that hold, we had submitted an over-the-phone loan application, with all its disclosures of identity information. HIGHLY RECOMMEND **BART** My experience with Bart started after I had got burned in Summit County by the Ford and Subaru dealerships. He stayed on the phone with me hearing about my God-awful experiences with those two dealerships (the pressure/rudeness/etc.) for 2 hours! And this is at like 7-9 pm. He was so understanding, and made sure to tell me that he would not be pressuring me to buy a car. No matter the effort, he was going to make sure I felt comfortable that I was buying the right car for me. He helped me breakdown what things were important to me and was very knowledgeable about depreciation, and value. He came in on his day off to accommodate our schedules, and wouldn't leave till he knew everything was worked out with financing and service. The price was fair, but even if I could have gotten it for cheaper at any other dealership, it was worth it for me to go through him. He put my mind at ease, and is a genuine and honest person. It didn't stop there, after months had passed since I bought the car, I reached out to him for a lil' issue I was have with servicing, and he responded immediately on a Friday afternoon. I got 2 calls within 30 mins of my email (to him) from servicing to resolve the issue I was having. HIGHLY RECOMMEND **BART** More
Not recommended The Littleton Store's management inflexibility really soured my overall buying experience. Let me outline the scenario: I am purchasing a vehicle with The Littleton Store's management inflexibility really soured my overall buying experience. Let me outline the scenario: I am purchasing a vehicle without leather seats. I wanted to install charcoal leather, but the dealer insists on installing light gray, because the darker leather would "diminish the resale value". So...I would think that having LEATHER installed over cloth would increase the value regardless of the color AND, Charcoal is GRAY and will compliment the interior anyway. PLUS, I am planning to drive the car until the wheels fall off...but, this argument did not sway CarMax Management. There's no additional expense for the difference and the charcoal is readily available...so, I have to assume that it is sheer pig-headedness by the management. VERY disappointed that I have to get this install done ON MY OWN and at a greater cost. Thanks, CarMax for costing me time and money to resolve an issue that could have been EASILY resolved at the dealership. More
