This review is long overdue! I bought my new vehicle in December. I am just as happy today as I was on the day that I drove away. The staff at this location, in every single depa I bought my new vehicle in December. I am just as happy today as I was on the day that I drove away. The staff at this location, in every single department, is EXCEPTIONAL! Maaz and Luis made me feel so beyond comfortable. It was like I was purchasing a vehicle with my besties. The business office was amazing. The sales manager on duty went above and beyond - checking in to make sure everything was moving along smoothly. I had a question about my oil percentage the following day, and Jeff (Service Manager) got back to me quickly and had me in and out in no time the following day. He also went above and beyond. I have done business with this location twice now - selling a car and then buying my car a few months later. Everyone makes a what could be stressful situation so seamless. If I could give double the stars, I would. THANK YOU CarMax South Broadway! You ALL are absolutely amazing! More
We were very frustrated when we went to the carmax in Thornton because we found 3 cars listed they had that we wanted to test drive only to find out they had none of the cars.We then went to Carmax in Li Thornton because we found 3 cars listed they had that we wanted to test drive only to find out they had none of the cars.We then went to Carmax in Littleton. We met with Chris (Awesome guy). They didn't have the specific car we were looking for but found us another car that met our requirements. He walked us through the car was very informative, explained everything we needed. We told him we needed to think about it. Chris was very nice about needing to think about the car. Later in the week We called him directly and told him we wanted the car. He got everything set up for us made sure he was available for us to pick up the car and it was a great experience. We will be back to this location. More
I'd heard good things about CarMax from friends who had used them before, and went to them to get a replacement for my previous car, which had been totaled in an accident, leaving me carless. Test drove a car, decided I wanted to buy it, but was waiting on an insurance payout from the accident. I was expecting the payout within a day or two. I explained this to the sales guy, who talked with his manager, and the manager agreed to reserve the car for me while I followed up on the insurance settlement. All good, or so I thought! Later that same day, I got an automated email that my reservation had been canceled. I was confused, since I definitely hadn't canceled it myself, checked the listing for the car, and it had been sold to someone else. The manager apparently canceled the reservation without even trying to inform me first, after assuring me I could have the reservation in the first place. I would have greatly preferred just to be told up front that they wouldn't be able to hold the car and I could have made different arrangements to buy it. Felt like I'd really been jerked around and deceived. I ended up getting a similar car (same make, model, and year, similar mileage) for the same price (yes, the insurance payment came through exactly as I'd expected). But the replacement car has significantly more cosmetic damage than the first one I wanted, including an undisclosed crack in the windshield (I went back to the listing to check if I could see the crack in the listing photos, and the area where the crack is is covered by a bar code sticker). It also had an accident and theft history that the other car didn't have. So it was definitely the lesser of the two. A few days later I got an automated email about a customer satisfaction survey. I answered it, explained the issue with the manager canceling my reservation without warning and selling the car out from under me. The end of the survey asked if I wanted a follow-up from CarMax about the issue, and I said yes, I did. No one ever followed up. So my experience is that CarMax is not THAT much different from any other dealership, really. You still have to be on guard for getting rug-pulled or sold a car with damage CarMax didn't document. The buying process was pretty quick and smooth, and if I'd been able to buy that first car I wanted I might have had a much more positive feeling about them. But as it is I felt sidelined and discarded, and the lack of follow up on the customer satisfaction survey doesn't feel great either. Should you use them? I dunno, I guess. Just don't assume you can let your guard down. More
