If you want to get any value for your trade-in, DO NOT TAKE IT to Carmax , sell it outright or go to a different dealer, you WILL get 30% more for it. Carmax will come up with unjustified issues with it, tell you lies and very, very low $$$. They take your trade in and sell for at least 2x what they got it for. I should off walked away but appeal of another car was just overwhelming and I agreed to it. Just want to warn others. More

Worked out all of the particulars over a three day period with Tito, Sean and then Paul. A special thank you to Sean for his patience and energy. Each of them offered the extended care plan, which I declined. Paul showed me the different finance options/scenarios so that I could determine the best deal. No one attempted to play any of the many shell games that dealerships use to just push money around and retain the same profit margin. The business office was there to present paperwork for signing, and answer any questions. Huge relief that all of the "negotiating" was handled earlier. Received a packet containing the signed paperwork, and additional documentation for the insurance company. They thought of all the little things on this one. Sale: Offer came in $2,000 more than the offer provided months earlier. Pricing truly is market based - supply and demand. Cons: - Feel like used Carmax vehicles are $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 more than other dealerships. - Wish there was a way to filter out all of the Fleet/Rental cars. More

I have to say that having visited several dealers in the past weeks CARMAX stands well above the crowd ! ! ! They made the process easy . . . in particular . . . Najat (our sales rep) was OUTSTANDING ! ! ! She demonstrated an understanding of the many products they offered. She was an excellent listener and translator (of customer needs and wants) and very patient and professional. During our visit she introduced us to Dan (Service Manager) who was equally professional and also very knowledgeable. These 2 CARMAX professionals truly demonstrated an interest in providing a CUSTOMER FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE and were convincingly more interested in satisfying our needs and wants than trying to sell us (or up sell us).
